Exactly.

Or the people that are like, "yeah well wait until the Knights play _____!" I was guilty of it too. I thought they were going to be clobbered by San Jose and then they came out and had that monstrous first game of the series.

Every game, every scenario is a true test for this team, but I think by this point they have proven they are the real thing and can hang with the best of the league (because they are one of the best).

All the pressure is on Washington tonight. Scary stuff. The fact that there are so many new faces for the Caps gives me a little hope but this is going to be tough. Glad they are on the road.

I expect Malkin to get more in the mix as well after being a little quiet. That’s also scary. It’s going to take error free hockey to win, along with some big posts and good bounces.

If the Caps somehow win this game tonight, this will be 1/10th of the celebration. There will be a lot more crying

I kept waiting for them to fall of that pace too but they defied every odd in the book. The chemistry this team has had since the first pre-season game has been amazing - it is like they all put their ego's on the shelf. What they have accomplished and are still working towards is unprecedented in sports and a testament to the will of every person in the organization from the HM to the locker room guys to the players.

Well this sucks - no Backstrom. Most likely done rest of series

Nathan Walker first Australian to play in a NHL playoff game

If he scores insert ‘something about Australia & penguins being extinct’

Caps can at least partially atone for all the misery and heartbreak of the last decade by winning on Pittsburgh ice tonight. Even if they'd end up losing to the Lightning or in the Finals, at least they'd have finally gotten over the hump of the 2nd round/Penguins.

So Facebook reminded me that 6 years ago today was the game 5 the Caps had against the Rangers where they gave up the tying goal to Brad Richards with 6 seconds left and then the winning goal 1:30 into OT. They lost the series in 7. :BANG

This is all I ask.

I’m not asking for much here.

Just beat the Penguins once. That’s all.

Not looking good for the pens. Caps doing great job slowing things down.

Not so fast now!

Own goal.

You can’t tip it in when your goalie has a great look at it. As they are talking total commitment from the Caps he doesn’t go down to block the shot.

Yeah how are you gonna deflect a shot into your own net when it was taken from that far out?

Reading the name on the front of the sweater should answer this

Missing Backstrom in the circle. He’d have been on there on those two consecutive wins by Sid and on that goal.

How does Kuz not hold for a second bring the puck back and roof that?

I’ve been critical of Murray. Several solid stops tonight.

Maybe he is better on the close in stuff where he’s looked strong tonight.

Mega save at the end of the period there

I’m thinking that shot Kuzy airmailed earlier in the period was on his mind when he hesitated.
