Prob because you're still in mourning :hug

Agreed. They couldve easily had 3-4 in game 6 if it werent for andersen. Sid had 2 great chances that got saved. Phil also just missed a rocket shot top corner in the 3rd.

Haha yeah basically. I feel like a bad fan but after the annual disappointment happens I kinda give up on the rest of the playoffs and usually don't watch the conference or Cup finals. I shouldn't say I have 0 knowledge because I at least see the scores just from being on the internet but I haven't watched a minute. I know, I'm terrible.

I am pretty thrilled for the Preds though. That's exciting. And of course a little bit bittersweet as a Caps fan.

I'm making the most of not having high expectations for the Flyers right now. Certainly I hope that changes within the next two years, but it's allowed me to enjoy the game, the new stars and catch up with the sport since I get so easily distracted during the season with HS sports and such.

This has been an overall enjoyable playoffs once again, just from a general hockey fan standpoint.

to be honest I think this has been one of the worst playoffs in recent memory outside of the Pens/caps and Ducks/Oilers series

Re: The NHL Thread (where the Presidents Trophy matters!)

I have absolutely loved these playoffs. So many OTs, some unexpectedly great matchups.

Maybe I just enjoy it more when I don't have a horse in the race (which I haven't... for a long time), but I've had a great time watching this year's playoffs.

Re: The NHL Thread (where the Presidents Trophy matters!)

This post season had a lot

-New teams in the late mix (NSH/OTT)
-Young teams on the rise (EDM/TOR)
-Heartbreak (WAS)
-Wild series (ANA/EDM; PIT/WAS)
-Dominant performances (PIT)
-And hopefully a new champ.

I guess maybe they were better than I was thinking.

I think for me its more there havent been many high quality matchups thats produced real exciting hockey. Only ones Ive truly thought were good series to watch from an outside perspective have been pens/caps, edm/ana and tor/caps

Re: The NHL Thread (where the Presidents Trophy matters!)

my old man gave me the option of going tonight or going to a cup game if the pens win.... I picked a cup game since Ive never been to one and dont know if Id ever get another chance, and ive been to conference finals games before, just not a game 7...

Soo we better fucking win.

Steve Ott just got named a Blues assistant coach. He was playing just last month in the playoffs.

I'm all anxious after that first period and I don't even have a dog in this fight.

I thought at 1-0 that was huge the way the game was going but then that happened.

Pens fans are not so smart. Or show a better replay that obviously wasn't a goal for the right angle
