Kevy and JRS - I feel terrible for missing your birthdays. Hopefully it was full of all good things and that you received the Alexander Daigle strippergram I sent your way.

<3 you both.

Nhl network just aired an excellent piece on USA's 96 world cup win. Really well done documentary. If you happen to notice it re-airing, pop it on your DVR. Especially our friends in Canada! Really, really good.

Re: The NHL Thread

Recorded it last night. Plan to watch it tonight. I was 13 at the time and sorry to say, rooting for Canada. Yzerman, Coffey and Primeau were all that team and the Wings couldn't win a Cup yet and...well they still couldn't, granted the trophy really isn't a cup. It looked done and then 4 goals in 3 minutes.....

Re: The NHL Thread

That was a good documentary. Brought back good memories. That Canadian team was so so good. I mean centers alone they had Gretz, Mess, Stevie, Lindros, Prieamu and Sakic. Shanny, Linden, Fleury etc my god.

Well that was an ugly start for team USA yesterday

Team Canada looks awesome (obvi) Team USA.....ehhhhh, not so much. Getting shut out by the worst team in the tourney is not the way you want to kick things off. Really looking forward to NA vs. Fin tonight.

When I read that yesterday, I was wonder that but was too lazy to go look if they could do it.

Speaking of being lazy, haven't watched world cup at all. I thought I'd care but...not so much yet.

I've seen some bits and pieces here and there. It seems like it's actually going pretty well with some good energy and skill. To be expected. Disappointed that Team NA plays again tonight but it's opposite the Eagles game for me. So I probably won't see much again.

Team USA is awful. I hope they get killed by Canada. I'm rooting for the over 35 year old team.

Retire after this season then please. Or "retire" and go on LTIR if you want to keep your money. If they could get him off the books and then get rid of Howie somehow next offseason that would be great. I'll let you know on Hank depending on how he plays this year.

also happy birthday to Kev, and the other loser--whoever he is. ;)

Are you guys going to any Flyers game this season?

Let's try this again. Last few times I've come to Ants and made a post, it timed out and didn't post.

I just found it Barbs. Thanks. Seeing USA vs Russia at MSG was one of my greatest hockey highlights of my life. (insert islander fan joke, here, lol). The atmosphere was incredible as was the game. The Cold War was alive that night.

Worked last 3 days so I haven't seen much World Cup yet. I dvr'd the USA game Saturday but got spoiled on score so I didn't watch. I'm off today so I look forward to USA Canada tonight.

The Russia/NA game last night from the parts I saw (which included most of the 3rd) was incredible.

Yeah, they looked awful despite creating a lot of opportunities they did not cash in on. seeing Kane cough up that puck with a pass where one of his Hawk teammates would have been that resulted in a goal was really painful to see.

Yeah, and I would like to sign Tyler Johnson to anchor my 2nd line but that damn cap gets in the way! :lol

Saw that, got cut out on the one game where the Blackhawks are in MSG because I will be out of state for a family thing. Now trying to decide whether to get the NHL package through NHL.com or my cable provider. Prices are similar and theoretically I can pipe computer streams to my TV via wireless but last year NHLLive had so many bugs after they created the new site that it drove me insane - also the Hawks were on national TV quite often so I am not sure it was worth it. Yet another hockey decision!
