Caps are such a weird team. Pulled off a solid win last night against one of the best teams in the league then get annihilated by Toronto tonight. So frustrating.

Playing your backup can be a crapshoot sometimes. See the Isles on Friday. I know he only gave up 3 last night but it set the tone.

Solid win for the Islanders.

We will now enter December with no worse than a tie for the most wins in the league. Who had that in the office pool? Hopefully, Detroit wins and we will have the most wins alone and be tied for most points.

The worst part is, our backup started, then got pulled, then Holtby got pulled and Peters went back in. Terrible night for Caps goaltending. Although what night isn't I guess.

She's fantastic! Thanks for asking :) 26 weeks along now, serious baby bump action happening. We can feel the little one kicking all the time these days. It's awesome.

Wish NY didn't have to play Tampa again lol. Why can't we play Philly every game?

Good deal. Get that room ready and figure out the car seat before the baby comes.

You should specifically make sure you have tickets to the one in January too.

Islanders have 4 in my lifetime, though I wasn't much of a hockey fan back then so they don't mean as much. If they would have won a cup since , say, 1985 on, it would have been the greatest sports experience of my life as a fan. In fact, I remember making my communion and being very annoyed at my older brother, cousin, etc because they spent a lot of my party watching an Islanders Cup game on the tv.

I think I mentioned here before my first game was one of the famous islanders games of all time as my dad took the aforementioned brother , cousin and me to the Ken Morrow OT winning goal to end the series vs the Rangers in 1984 and keep the drive for five alive. That was the day a hockey fan was born in me.

I am actually surprised at how subdued I am with our start. We have had very good stretches of play before in recent years and I realize this is a better team with much better talent yet I haven't allowed myself to get carried away...........yet.

Re: The NHL Thread

I have been lucky to see all my teams win in my lifetime. However, I was not really into hockey when NYR won in 94. Since 96 hockey has been my favorite sport and for many years I was so invested in the rangers that a single loss would change my mood.

If the Rangers won the cup it would the best sports experience of my life. The Red Sox come close, but I just live for hockey more!

2 shorties on the same shift reminds me of this guy. Do you recall Penguins' fans.

Errmmm....10 points out of the 8th spot in your conference is pretty damn far out when only ~24-25 games have been played. I don't know if being "only" 10 pts out right now is a reason to be hopeful....
