Best news I’ve heard in a while was Tampa getting racked onto the tour next year. We’re back, baby!

I follow several T Swift fansite accounts on Twitter and one of them said the Lover Fest shows will be rescheduled to 2022...? She will have a new album out by then + the whole back catalogue of re recorded albums except reputation will be out by then too. https://twitter.com/blessedswifty/st...92436360986624

Gonna add Tampa after ATL, do Charlotte (for a June date), and keep my awesome WPB lowers both nights and really kick it off next year before my first Gorge! May try Denver after as well but that's a little iffy. Either way, I get a four show run leading into my first Gorge, and a NC date in June that isn't a huge haul for me. I'm more stoked about the way 2021 is shaping up than I was about 2020. Either way, I can't wait!

Super pleased with how all of this worked out given the circumstances. Keeping my great WPB tickets and I'll only have to work on Tampa pits in February. Getting married in March so it will be nice to drop several hundred to a couple grand in February on tickets.

Wow that’s interesting...I would still be fine with that. Kind of silly to call in lover fest at that point .

Yeah, there was a decent ticket drop for both nights on Friday. I had been keeping an eye out trying to catch N2 lowers for friends but they of course dropped during the one day I've had actual plans for two months. haha

very glad to see Tampa back in the mix for 2021. I've done this show a few years now as a warm up to the local shows in wpb near where I live and really liked them. And I like the big pit. Does anyone have any info on when they will decide which venue (I assume it's the amp in the fairgrounds) and when tix will go onsale (I assume early 2021?).

dmbolp 06-29-2020 08:32 AM

Re: **Official Florida 2021 / Tampa & West Palm Beach**

They have already decided on the venue, the amp. No word about onsale date

Looking like these shows will be a go if the band wants to move forward with them. The state is greenlighting a UFC show with 15,000 fans here in Jacksonville next month and the governor is on record saying sports venues can pack the stands.

Politics aside - will be up to the band for the Florida run at least

It’ll come down to financials - I don’t know what the fixed costs are to rev up the touring machine, but I’d assume without enough consistent stops, it’s tough to absorb everything.

If they can push the June and earl/mid July dates into the early fall, I could see this show being near the tour open.

I would love to see Florida shows still happen even if they push back into August/September. It's going to require a full tour, though.

So glad we held onto our 2020 WPB tickets, considering that the Texas shows are now off the table. It will be our first time in WPB for a show, any tips would be appreciated! No worries about heat and humidity warnings, we'll be coming from South Texas. What's the tailgate scene like?

Just a data point, I did Premium Instants a few years ago for WPB, sold them to Matthew before seat assignments, and they ended up in Section 1, in row R or something, and in the middle of the row, so well outside the width of the stage.

Hopefully this year is different and they still have good tickets left over that were refunded

Thanks for heads up. I had friends and family tickets last year, well 2019, and they were pretty good. Hope these are good too. Just glad to be in the lower reserved for n2. We had pit for n1 last year and it was amazing.

I heard that Tampa is a pretty easy pit to get, is that correct? I'll be flying solo and don't want to request through Warehouse for this one cause I don't want to get stuck with a crap seat to unload, I'd rather just wait for the TM sale.

They were sold out when I bought at about 10:10am. In fact, I couldn't find any pavilion seats for two or more tickets together. I ended up purchasing lawn tickets for my crew, in hopes to find pavilion or pit tickets for resale.

Must have gone super fast. Keep checking the presale allotment for a little bit and then also try the general sale.

Requested pits got $90 uppers for Tampa through WH. I think this is the 4th time in a row, for some reason I always do better for WPB through WH which makes zero sense.

Queued at 169 for Citi presale, tried and failed several times to cart pit pairs. Finally after about 10 minutes I got a pit single on a restock. Confirmation page was at 10:13. Looks like I'm all set for the Florida run, can't wait.

Last time I was in the Tampa lawn was for Zac Brown Band in 2012 or 2013. Crowd was fine, lawn is plenty big, sound was rough. I believe they've had to make a ton of adjustments over the years because of complaints from the "nearby" houses.

Sound may be better now, obviously, but it was pretty bad back then.

Too late to edit above but I just got one. Per research, doesn’t look like any real awful seats in the reserved section.

Now, what’s the best way to get to/from the venue? Any bars do shuttles from downtown Tampa?

Lawn is terrible in Tampa, reserved seats all have pretty good sound. The pit is enormous if you're into that sorta thing, and the sound is very good from the back of the pit.

I don't think there are any shuttles going to and from the venue from downtown, it's not that close to downtown. There's a Wing House (discount Hooters) across the street that's a popular hangout before and after shows. Also a Five Guys if you want a quick burger before you go in. We usually get a sub from Wawa down the street a little bit prior to going in, and there's also a Taco Bus (local chain, very good food) across the street from Wawa. Parking can be a bit of a shit show, but the nice thing is it's free after 4. Just be prepared for rain, and be prepared to sweat a LOT.

Got confirmed for upper reserved, don't really care where we sit, just want a reserved seat and we've seen enough shows in the lowers so that doesn't really matter to us anymore. Happy to see some live music again, especially now that we're both fully vaxxed! :bounce

Yea, if you're looking to come directly from downtown/Ybor, the only options I can think of are take a $30(?) Uber each way or drive to the venue and park there. There are a couple popular places in the Brandon area (near the venue) where people pregame, but it's mostly just the casino and WingHouse.

If you want to park at the venue, USE THE MLK BLVD ENTRANCE. Avoid 301 and that entrance if you can. I tell people this every single year. If you're coming from the north or I-4, you're better off taking 75 south to MLK than going through the 301 entrance.

And yes, it's likely going to be hot as Satan's ballsack. HYDRATE...HYDRATE...HYDRATE.

Usually if it rains it's during the mid afternoon and ends before show time, but there's always a chance it could rain during the show. If you park at the venue, and the lots are muddy from rain, follow the attendants to a T because they'll keep you on dry ground. I went off venturing on my own one year and got stuck in the mud and luckily was able to get pushed out. But if you can't get unstuck yourself, you have to wait til after the show for tow trucks to pull people, which can take a long fucking time.

Also, the line to go through security and get your tickets scanned seems to get longer every year. Don't cut it close. Be prepared to possibly wait 20+ min in line. You also have a decent walk from the parking lot to the venue, and the line is usually shorter if you go the back (west) way, which is closer to the MLK entrance (another reason to enter/leave the venue through this entrance).

I think I've covered all the bases lol. Have some fucking fun, everyone!

Most things in Florida are a nightmare, we're just used to it because we live here. Rideshare after the show will expensive because of surge just like anywhere else. I actually used to do pretty well after shows at the amphitheater when I was driving for Uber.

The venue itself is pretty standard. Just one side of it has way more traffic than the other, hence my recommendations. It's actually one of the quickest and easiest venues I've been to to get in and out of if you know what you're doing.

I probably already asked this but I forget.

Places to stay. Just in Tampa Wednesday night. Ybor looks fun, but is it too college aged/bourbon street crap? I’m older, just looking at the cigar stores, etc.

Downtown Tampa on the river looks nice, like across canal/bourbon in NOLA feel. Not close to the commotion.

And then the Seminole hard rock. Looks like you can walk to/from the venue, but it’s the round way about?

Only a few hours in tampa before the show so really doesn’t matter. Might just to airport hotel but if you can walk safely to/from hard rock, I’d do that.

Don’t stay in Ybor. The downtown hotels are all really nice, and the Riverwalk is great. Staying at Hard Rock would certainly solve the transportation problem, I just don’t know how nice the hotel is. They just added on a huge new wing recently so I’m sure it’s nice, it’s just not my scene so I never go there. I do know it’s a little more expensive, but if you’re saving on ride-sharing, it evens out.

It’s easily my favorite part of this whole region, and it’s not particularly close.

Thanks guys!

St. Pete would be my first choice but it’s kind of far for just one afternoon and going back and forth.

Got it - No Ybor. :lol Seems people either love it or hate it, like bourbon street.

Downtown is where I’ve been looking, the river walk seems really cool to explore. So either that or Hard Rock. Hard Rock isn’t my scene at all but it’s new and renovated and close.

Thanks again!

Also vote no on Ybor. It's neither "nice" nor close.

There's also the Holiday Inn Express right across from the venue if you end up prioritizing convenience. It's probably 10 min less of a walk than the casino, and right now it's $50 cheaper. Just FYI.

Ybor is just seedy and sketchy. I worked down there for a couple years, you see some shit after dark.

During the daytime there are plenty of good restaurants and bars, just call it an early night and avoid the crazies.

Been there so many times on the weekends for concerts/stand up, and it's like the trashy circus came to town.

No worse than the shit I saw on Beale Street when I lived in Memphis though.

If you decide to stay downtown, try the Marriott on Water St. It's basically across the street from Amalie Arena, where the Lightning play. It's pretty nice and has a good pool. It underwent a makeover within the last 2 years. If you stay there, build in some time if you are getting your car from the valet-they take forever. It's not that close to the venue but you could uber if you plan on having cocktails

I always stay at this holiday inn for DMB shows at the fairgrounds. It's fine, nothing special but an easy walk across the street and has a Five Guys next door, which is good for getting a burger after the show

Wait, don't the shows usually let out around 11:00? How is Five Guys open then?

There’s a Fairfield Inn that’s right down MLK drive - probably a mile and a half drive

Thanks all. Booked the hard rock. Using points for my entire opening tour trip and all these hotels were the same.

not sure what the regular hours are for this Five Guys, but it's always open after the show. If you plan on swinging by after the show, I'd advise to not doodle around once the show ends because it gets pretty crowded and you'll be waiting a bit.

Best place to make a weekend out of the Palm Beach area?

I've sold the trip to my fiancee (not a huge DMB fan, but also hasn't been to a show before)

We only have tickets to N2. Looking to stay some place near the water for a couple of nights... willing to drive 30-45 mins to the venue if the location is better for the stay

Back in 2012 we stayed at the Omphoy, which is apparently now called Tideline, and it was fantastic. Got a massage and everything.

Thanks for the input. Seems reasonably priced and beachfront. We'll check it out for sure.

What's the parking lot/tailgate situation like at WPB? We are flying in Thursday and have a rental car but would probably prefer to Uber if that's possible. How tough is it to get an Uber post-show, acknowledging that may be a tough question to answer in the after times.

Only been once to wpb in 2019 going again this year. We ubered to the show with no issues except the dropoff and pickup lot is a little walk (maybe 5 min or so) to the door so account that for time. Leaving I think we waited around 20-30 minutes both nights. Best thing to do is to call one as soon as you walk out of the venue because it will take at least that long for one to get there IMO.

In the past it has been fairly easy at WPB. I suggest walking a little east of the venue taking traffic into consideration. Sometimes walking away from the immediate area has worked well for other events and you can get a ride easier and faster.

The tailgate is very calm and laxed. Everyone who is normal fans are very friendly.

Everyone check their live ticket sale seating assignments. I grabbed wpb n2 premiums when they were on sale and just looked. Got first row behind pit in the center. Can't even beleive it.

Section 14 Row F at Tampa, I'm happy with that. I've seen a couple shows from the front of that section, the sound is fantastic.

you should consider Delray Beach. It's about a 30 min ride to the venue but tons of stuff to do if you are into a busy nightlife scene. I think there's an ocean front Marriott there

Just bought a reserved pair for both nights at WPB. Never been. Couple of questions...

1. How is view from back end of reserved section and is it covered? Looks like it via pics but can’t tell for sure. I’ve gone to Fiddlers in Denver several times so if anyone can compare the back end reserved there to WPB I’d really appreciate it.

2. Anyone know if the venue is walkable from Singer Island?

Can’t wait!

1. it's not great. the problem is if you're too far back you're actually not "covered" bc the sun will shine on the back rows - it will be awful.

2. no. not even close. The venue isn't walkable period unless you live across the street. Singer Island is like 20 miles away.

Does anyone have any insight into the seating in WPB? I bought section 7, Row J off Ticketmaster which appeared as the front row of the section. Now it looks like there are “box seats” in front which is ok but in some pictures there looks like there are these big, leather seats in between section 7 and the box seats. Anyone know the layout/ will these obstruct our view? Thanks! Also staying at Hilton singer island - hope to see some of you there!

I ended up with Section 2 Row N for night 1 and section 3 Row E for night 2. Night 2 says "sight/hearing" on them so I assume all the way to the side but whatever....3rd row behind pit.

Pretty sure the sight/hearing means they’re for sight and hearing impaired fans. Meaning they’re not way off to the side.

Don’t quote me though

Gotcha.....I mean even if they are not according to TM seating chart looks like they are actually front row....crazy and only 9 seats in entire row.
