Oilers still rolling, trying not to get too excited but man does it feel good to win for a change.

Also, re: Don Cherry - dude is an old racist muppet who should have been fired long ago. Wouldn't be surprised if he get canned this week. There is a lot of heat on him up here.

Remember that time the Canadians showed so much respect to the people who were there before them? They did all the terrible things to Natives that we did here.

So many times in OT they should have taken the shot but instead made an extra, unnecessary pass. It was bewildering to watch.

Re: The NHL Thread

Avalanche IR right now:

Rantanen
Landeskog
Grubauer
Zadorov
Wilson
Francouz

That's the #1 AND #2 goalie, not to mention 2/3 of their top line. Thank goodness for good off-season acquisitions to fill out the depth, and a #3 goalie who came in and stopped 40 shots on his way to preserving the shutout in his first NHL game.

Oh, and a rookie defenseman who is point-per-game.

Get to five goalies first before we start hearing about that. :) Even then, you'll still be three behind last year's Flyers. Crazy.

Bah. Doesn’t factor into my thoughts. The Flyers never win. So I don’t go that route.

Anyone in the fantasy league looking for centers? I have a surplus and would be willing to make a trade for goaltending or wingers.

Currently on my roster and willing to deal at least one of:

Duchene
Johansen
O’Reilly

Thoughts on this?

The Avs' Calvert takes a shot to the head, is down on the ice in obvious distress (and he's a TOUGH customer already - dude's not gonna fake it), but because Vancouver had control of the puck, the refs let play continue. Eventually led to a Canucks goal. Even Elias Petersson, who was the guy who took the shot, kept trying to signal to the refs that Calvert was hurt.

Interesting article where players gave their opinion on what the league should do in situations like this.

If the Kings play like the played last night then they will have no issues the rest of the year. But, they won't.

I was baffled when I saw that play out. It is one of those judgement calls, as the rule states:

"In the case where it is obvious that a player has sustained a serious injury, the Referee and/or Linesman may stop the play immediately.”

I would think getting hit in the head, resulting in blood gushing out is serious, but that's just me.

Not saying Calvert did this at all, but the main issue would be players faking or making the injury seem more serious at the time in order to get a stoppage.

But :lol at MacKinnon's quote: "I can only imagine if that was LeBron James"
