maybe it's just because of my eastern conference bias, but I always thought the Sedins were overrated.

Sedins were awesome. Great ambassadors for the sport, classy, and like sex on ice when they were completely locked in.

I did always wonder, however, how good they would be if they weren't playing together. I wonder if it was one of those whole-is-greater-than-sum-of-the-parts scenarios. That said, who cares? They were great hockey players who had a unique connection. Brothers who got to spend 18 years playing in the NHL together every night. That's awesome.

I do not see how anyone could think they were over-rated. I have never seen two stars have such chemistry together to the point where it seemed like they had internal radar to find each other with passes, they made that whole team better. In 17 years these guys paced the Canucks to the playoffs seemingly every year while averaging just shy of a point a game - they scored at almost the same pace in 100+ playoff games. Henrik won the Hart and Art Ross in 2010 while Daniel won both the Art Ross and the Ted Lindsay award in the following year. Both have Olympic Gold medals and made the Stanley Cup Finals in 2011 losing in a 7 game battle with Boston and to be honest they did not have much support on that team. I realize they do not have a Stanley Cup to their names but IMO both are headed straight to the hall of fame because they were just that damn good.

They battled the Hawks in a number of playoff series and while they would drive me crazy moving that puck around and scoring I just had to admire just how good they really were and again I believe if they had a better supporting cast they would have a cup or two to their names.

Yeah and I heard someone say well why do they both need to retire. Well why not? They probably feel the same way about Vancouver rebuilding and why not really feeling like they wanna go somewhere new. Vancouver is one of the biggest disappointments though while they were there. Should have had more success in the playoffs. Choked away 2003 to the Wild, losing in round 1 in 04 to Calgary and then had a little retool only to not get by the Hawks and then finally do but not able to close out Boston.

You don't want the possibility of facing us in the 1st round, do you?

Really doesn't matter who Caps face. They just need to focus on each game whoever the opponent is. Only thing ever holding them back is themselves

Insert Giroux & Voracek here in 5-6 years

I would only be scared of the flyers if it were a round 2 matchup

1st round? No problem

I think that regardless of if/when they meet in the playoffs the Caps high powered offense will eat the Philly goaltending for lunch.

Neither Voracek nor Giroux are even close to being considered hall of fame material. No one is saying that.

while regular season matchups don't matter, the Flyers have won three out of the four meetings if I'm not mistaken.

Caps don't scare me. Pens do. Bring on the Caps.

Dream scenario is Flyers-Devils first round. But I don't see the Pens dropping to a wild card unfortunately.

I do not see Pens dropping to a WC slot either, as for the Devils - I hope they lose out the regular season and Florida wins out.

Bruh, everyone on the Bs has bought in I’m not worried about the Carlo injury.

They have way more depth on the blue line this season

Any team wanting the Caps is fooling themselves. No one in the east scares me either.
