The Islanders one is fine, but I do find the White odd. Will the Islanders be wearing white gloves?

:thumbsup Agreed. Most of the new jerseys are what I expected.

I think the Nashville ones might be the most affected. The arms look really bad.

Wings open LCA Oct 5th against the Wild. Vegas opens seasons @ Dallas and then home opener against Coyotes (CO to some people) Oct 10th.

Flyers open 10/4 at Sharks., 10/5 at Kings. Home opener 14th versus lollerCaps.

I'd like the Vegas jerseys a lot more if the sleeves weren't so terrible.

The more I look at the jersey alone its not as bad as I initially thought, but when you pair it with the socks that have the red stripe it is just absolutely brutal.

Overall the unis are fine if it wasnt for the red.

Not sure why you guys are making such a big deal about a red stripe. I like it.

I pretty much hate any jersey that is not original six.

This Hossa thing really is crazy though. What a shame for an absolute class act and a totally complete player. Guy was everything kids should strive to be in a hockey player.

It just clashes hardcore with the rest of the color scheme. Really bad decision to make that a third color.

Actually have seen people on twitter saying the blackhawks are making it up for some reason :lol

He should probably retire. Gonna be hard to get back to game speed after 17-18 months of no hockey at his age.

new uniforms are boring. Flyers need to bring back the pumpkin orange 90's away jerseys.

It is kinda weird that it happens now, but I believe it's real.

The only thing I don't like the vegas get ups are the gloves.

Moving him to LTIR is indeed convenient for the Hawks despite what a good player he is so I can see where the skepticism is. That said a bad skin condition (plus medications) can make it tough for any athlete to compete. When I was younger I went on vacation with my parents and got a really bad sunburn that gave me some second degree burns on my legs - doc saw me, gave me some ointments for the burns and some codeine for the pain. That was a minor nuisance compared to Hossa's condition. I was all kinds of psyched to get back to my HS soccer team, got to practice, took some medicine, slapped on some ointment and started dressing for a practice. Half hour later after stretching we started a run and all of a sudden my legs were screaming in pain and my head was swimming in an opiod induced cloud. 5 minutes into a passing drill I realized there was no way in hell I could even finish that practice let alone play in a game until I was more healthy.

:lol Yeah, same. The gloves remind me of when I played inline hockey for a while. So many ridiculous get-ups in inline:

Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)

Wings might lose Grand Rapids player Nosek to Vegas. So the Mrazek gamble paid off. Also raises the question that maybe other NHL teams had the same worry/doubt about him. While I was hoping to see Nosek on the Wings this fall, not much you could have done to keep him. Wouldn't have been worth a side deal to keep him.

Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)

While it will be interesting to see who is selected in the expansion draft, I'm almost more excited to see who is STILL on the team after all the trades are announced that Vegas apparently has in place.

They should ditch the red or add another red line at the bottom.

For real, just lose the red and then it's great.

Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)

The more I look into all this, it seems that Vegas is passing on some of the better goalies available indicating it's possible they may have taken Grubauer. That would be ideal for me. I really don't think the Caps are in a position to lose Schmidt right now, and he's certainly one of the more enticing D names available. Not to mention putting together a "don't pick Nate" package would've been difficult considering the Caps have no picks this year until round 4.

But let's hope the twitter stuff is right. I'm gonna be a sad panda if it's Nate.

Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)

I'm seeing more and more reliable reports saying that it was in fact Nate Schmidt. Dear lord help us.

The Caps lose Shattenkirk, Alzner and Schmidt all in one off season.

Woof.

Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)

Confirmed. RIP Nate Schmidt.

Apparently Mac tried. But without a pick through round 3 in this year's draft, there was no saving him. Asking price too high.

Life as a Caps fan is absolutely crushing.

It's fun not being a Caps fan though
