Now that Blatter has stepped down from FIFA President I am torn between whether Goodell or Bettman is worse.

That said it was the players union which caused the lockout, though admittedly the owners and commissioner have to shoulder some blame as well because they never imagined the union would walk away. I blame Bettmen more than the owners for his idiotic ideas of tying player salaries with league revenue, never taking reasonable compromises with the union and cooking the books on how much money the league was losing.

Agreed, that 1994-1995 lockout is what I was referring to in my previous post.

the Winter Classic?

:lol

Might I add:

That puck tracker for televised games.
Expansion to the extreme.
Helping push the Whalers out of CT by offering them no support at all.
An extremely low salary cap.
The entire John Scott episode.

Though I do enjoy the 3 on 3 OT's! :)

Anyone watching the Bruins game? The ref pretty much held McQuaids arm down and let him get punched in the face.

What a joke

When did nashville turn into such a dirty team? They throw cheapshot after cheapshot. Nice comeback 3-2 win for the Blackhawks to break a 3 game losing streak.

Congrats to Patrick Kane on his 700th career point!!!!!

Can somebody beat the Blue Jackets please? Thank you.

Speaking of which, I'm surprised our resident Jackets fan hasn't been around lately.

It's cool to see them doing so well but yeah, this can change in a hurry. Were the Pens even in the Cup contender talk at this point last year? If they were doing this in March and April then maybe it can carry into success in the playoffs. Not trying to belittle what they are doing but we won't know if it means a whole lot for a while.

Wings actually won a game last night. Nice to see Coreau get the win in his hometown with his 92 year old grandma watching. Love that crap. I've become such a sap with that type of stuff now. Their season will depend on January. Started a 7 game road trip with last night and I think only play 3 home games from now until Feb 1st.

The Pens were just adjusting to Mike Sullivan, and didn't really start to heat up until January. So yeah, the Jackets still have a ways to go. However, I do not want them (or the Wild, for that matter) to break the 1993 Pens team's NHL record 17-game winning streak.

It's been cool to see Tortorella adjust to the times. I thought he was done after Vancouver, but he's really shown (obviously) that he can still coach in this league. The Jackets team really isn't THAT different from last year's, which makes it even cooler.

And Seth Jones... I knew that kid was gonna be something special. Rob Blake is who I originally compared him to, and he's made huge strides this year to get there.

Actual hockey question: any way to view tonight's epic showdown without the use of fancy computering? Aka, is there a channel I can watch it on on my TV?
