Sooooo not a great first game to take my gf too :lol She still had a lot of fun and enjoyed watching hockey live. She'll definitely wanna go again at least.

:thumbsup big game too. Pens are only 4 points behind the Rags with a game in hand

other than the Caps, the East is a dog fight

and a big reason for that are all these damn 3 point games...so dumb

Here's a tip: Don't take her to a Flyers game for another two seasons.

Hey at least it wasn't like the Bruins against the Kings. That would have been much worse.

It actually is. Maybe if he didn't nearly take Wayne Simmonds' head off with a vicious cross-check, he wouldn't have a "concussion."

i'm serious

the whole "well, he got punched in the face and concussed because he started it and threw a dangerous cross-check" is such a tired approach

no one should ever be hitting anyone in the head or face intentionally

you get ejected from games and suspended in all 3 other major sports if you throw a punch

in hockey you sit in a box for a little bit...it's an embarrassing league

If the players are so concerned about possibly being hit in the face maybe they shouldn't play the game.

The players know the risk. Don't throw a cheap shot, and you won't get one back.

Listen, I'm just glad you guys reformed Matt Cooke. That was a big help to the league.

Kadri's throat slashing gesture. :lol

For anyone that hasn't seen it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YITSiM9jAUQ

TL;DW: Kadri skating through the slot with his head down, Giordano levels him with what I consider a clean hit (looks like head contact at first, but at closer inspection you can see that primary target was chest/right shoulder). Kadri takes his time getting up, whines a bit, then lollygags his way to the bench, all while Calgary's got a rush going the other way. Then, he threatens Gio from the safety of his own bench. :lol

Re: The NHL Thread

and now Kadri is saying he was foggy and doesn't remember doing the throat-slashing gesture.

that guy is a piece of work.

good job, Gio.

classic flyers deflection :thumbsup

maybe when one of your favorite players can't remember his kids' names because of severe CTE or when a player is paralyzed on the ice during a game you might change your tune

i know you're trolling me to get a reaction, and i'm playing into that, but it's still fucked up

maybe Wayne Simmons could be the bigger man in that situation and not take a cheap shot? ever think of it from that perspective? the turn around has to start somewhere

Filip Forsberg :BANG:BANG:BANG

HAS to be up there as one of the worst trades ever. And it's not one you can say "well at the time it was a deal to try and win now and no one knew the prospect would be that good." At the time people were like "wtf?!?"

oh man, there was a really really really good Flyers player in the 90's that suffered many concussions that cut his career and on ice prowess short. Who was that?

Oh that's right.

Eric Lindros.

Don't try and talk to Flyers fans about concussions.

honestly, I don't think the Caps score less than five goals a game if they had Forsberg on their team right now.

just part of the game right? maybe Lindros shouldn't have scored those goals or trash talked or ever threw a check

according to you, he had it comin'

He did.

It's the Flyers fault as an organization for not protecting him. Granted, his immense size should have given him advantage in any situation. But he should have been treated like Gretzky and Lemieux.
