Can't wait!! What's everyone fave campground, if you are a camper. I think we are doing Green Acre's (Think that is the name).

Slightly disappointed all of the midwest dates are within a week or so of each other. Just means I'll probably skip Cincy and Chicago and go to both Deer Creek and Alpine.

Sleepy Bear has it's disadvantages, but being able to stumble to and from the show is worth it's weight in gold IMO.

"Greeeeeen Acres is the place to be!"

That's always where we go. You can't walk to the venue like others but I love that you can spread out and have your own space instead of being all jammed together.

for those that have stayed at the Embassy Suites or Holiday Inn, tell me about getting back and forth to the shows. do they have shuttles? if not, is it best to drive or Uber? is walking even an option?

Yeah I was thinking there as well. It's been a few years for me, can you reserve at this location? Rather than first come.

We stayed at the Embassy last year. You *could* walk, but I wouldn't advise it - getting back after the show could be a real adventure, especially if you've had a few. :lol

They might run shuttles, I have no idea. We just drove to and from because we wanted to have the truck for tailgating anyway and it was a breeze getting in and out. I don't mind driving because I always take the approach of getting a good buzz on while tailgating and then by the time the show is over, I'm good to go.

Stayed slightly closer at Cambria, hammered N1 last year and it was a hike home with my wife steering me. We did walk the long way around I heard. Needless to say, took the Cambria shuttle N2. Heard Holiday Inn had a shuttle from a friend.

I checked with the Embassy Suites and they have a shuttle service but the hours end at 4 PM, so no dice for after the show

if it is easy to get in and out with the parking we may just do that

How are the crowds here overall? Family friendly? Drunken teenagers like Hartford? Big party crowd or laid back and chill? Thinking of trying this venue for 2019

With as big as the lawn is, you get a pretty huge mix of all of that. I would say the earlier you come in--the lower on the lawn you are--and the less riff raff you'll encounter. If you have reserved seats, there's typically a whole lot less riff raff. This place is home for me though, and it's sure a great venue.

Shall be attending as always pending on my new job work/training dates.

Out of Nashville, Riverbend, DC, Tinley, Alpine. I am hoping i can pick one of these shows to go to. Just gotta get lucky on scheduling lol

If not then the Gorge would be my last back up plan. Which, lets be real, is not a bad back up lol

Looks like I'm doing both Deer Creek shows and Alpine N2

The very first year we stayed there, I was able to reserve and they put my name on the list. Every year after that I contact them about it and they basically just say "No reservations needed, just show up." With the amount of space they have there usually they have no trouble accommodating.

Generally friendly but you can still get some college and high school drunk kids. Lawns sounds good, good view. My nephew has gone with my sis since he was 12 and spent some time in lawn with no issue. As mentioned it’s big lawn so not hard to move to less crazy area if needed

Looking at this weekend as an alternative to pittsburgh and Cleveland since we didn't get shows. Can someone point out some locals reasonable hotels and discuss what you love about the venue? Thanks in advance

I cant help ya with the hotels since I live locally but I am sure others can. The venue.... its one of the top outdoor amphitheaters in the US. Great sight lines and sound from the lawn to down low. Tailgating scene is fairly chill but a good time. Always seem to get really good sets at Deer Creek. Looks like you've been to the Gorge and SPAC. Deer Creek would be your next logical 2 night stand venue.
