Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Loved that interview. I liked Mac when asked if he would have wanted him as a teammate in 1998. "No way." No way does that interview happen 10 years earlier. Things calm down and guys know a lot of crap can happen in the heat of the game. Also liked that if he would have been traded to the Avs, would have stood up for him like he would have anyone else. That's the game. Would have to be totally weird at that time but still would have done it. Now in saying that, the Wings wouldn't have traded their worst minor leaguer to the Avs back then, same goes for the Avs, but still...

Alright big night for the Wings. Need a regulation win. No 3 point game crap. I'll take an OT win but would prefer to not give the Devils a point.

Franzen 10 points in last 5 games. Wow.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Legwand's first as a Wing. Franzen, Legwand and Nyquist have a combined 11points tonight. So all Wings fans bitching about the trade, shut...up.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Barring a monumental collapse, Wings win easily in regulation. Huge, huge win. Now onto NYC.

I don't post much in here, but being an Islanders fan is hard as hell. Up 3-1 with 9 to play, and lose 4-3 in regulation. It's almost expected at this point. Good thing Garth was able to get a good return for Vanek!

Edit: last sentence is sarcasm, if it was not obvious.

I'm sorry man. That's pretty rough. I do hope one day the Isles won't be..well the Isles. Not sure it'll happen with Snow as GM or with Wang as owner.

It's definitely legal. Kid got Kronwall'd

I thought it was going to be some hit from a Delaware bantom game. Kid cheap shotted another kid and then celebrated like he won the Stanley Cup like the little piece of shit that he is. Went to find the video but it's been taken down.

Some of his answers to these questions are crazy. NHL following him, Bertuzzi never reaching out to him...awful.

I need to watch this later. Kinda surprised he never reached out. Figured he would have. That is bad.

Welcome to the party, I mean, misery, pal. Last night was extremely frustrating, though I watched it this morning after a successful night at my monthly poker game.

I actually missed the Edmonton game, which is the first game I missed this year. We had a very important board of education meeting here in town that precedence. A lot of crap going on kids future came first. I've watched pretty much every minute of every game for most of my adult life. It's a dedicated sickness, I believe.

Crazy how many 2 goal leads we have blown. Not sure if it's the youth, the coaching, the lack of talent or all of it. It's been a disappointing season, to say the least.

Here is something that might cheer you up and depress you at the same time. There a line the lady says near the end that made me smile.

Have to say glad I picked up Nyquist for my fantasy team before the Olympics and Henrique to replace Datsyuk. They combined for 6 points last night.

Islanders have blown 14 two goal leads this season. Pretty much sums that up. How does Garth Snow still have a job?

What Bertuzzi did was inexcusable, and I'm in the minority who believes he should have never played again.

That being said, Steve Moore was no saint. That was a vicious hit on Naslund, and Moore never addressed it. For all his poo pooing about how he could have had a future in the NHL, it's unbelievable to me that he wouldn't know how to settle the score fairly after such a hit.

I actually take part of that back--he fought Matt cooke in the first period of that game.

Shame on Tony Granato for not sitting him on the bench. If things were so out of control, he shouldn't have been playing.

Bertuzzi did apologize to Moore publicly, but as far as we know that's as far as it's gone.

I would be pleasantly surprised if Gillis or Snow remained employed after this season. Of course, GM's seem to have the uncanny ability of keeping their jobs. Look at Sather and Holmgren.

:confused

Moore fought Cooke in the first period of the next game they played. Score settled. He had no reason to have to fight Bertuzzi (who followed him all over the ice like a vulture before the attack) after that.

EDIT: Just saw your second post, Matt. Granato is not culpable in any way for this. The score was settled as far as they all were concerned. We can say all sorts of stuff like that in hindsight, but there's no way Granato could have known Bertuzzi would do something like that. At that point of that particular game (I've watched it a couple times), the blood was boiling enough that no one was safe.
