The Sabres can't even tank properly.

I'll take a point. Since it wasn't a conference opponent it doesn't hurt as bad. Tonight though, Wings need to win in regulation.

let's pump the dramatic brakes a bit.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

not dramatic at all....there are at least 6 teams more suited to win the cup than the pens...constant underachievers

No Martin right now, right? And no Letang for the rest of the year most likely. They'll be in tough, even if the East isn't as good.

they're hoping martin is back for the playoffs, but even if he is, they just don't have "it"...not passing the eye test at all

i think the dupuis injury completely derailed this team...wouldn't have had to worry about the top 6 at all if he's healthy...now they have a top line that isn't scoring like it should and a head case as their #2 center

crosby was a -5 last night if i'm not mistaken

I forgot Dupuis is out. Yeah that's another big loss.

i'll stop my pity party, i'm just sick of this team not living up to it's potential

and i guess if anyone knows about top tier guys being out of the lineup, it would be a wings fan :lol

Why? Just because their #1 center wasn't even on their team 2 days ago? And two of their other centers started the year in Grand Rapids? lol

Yeah, but you also said that unless Canada's top line Crosby/Kunitz/Neal that they wouldn't stand a chance in the tourney. We all know how that turned out.

yea, but that was because canada decided to play some lock down defense

the top line didn't really produce until the last game

neal would've made that line better IMO

Edit; My bad as you were talking about Benn, and not Neal.

Buuuuut Benn was arguably one of their top 3 forwards all tourney so my comments stand....kind of.

meh, canada's blue line won the gold medal almost single-handedly

but either way, they won the gold so it's hard to argue any personnel decisions

but i'm going to anyway :lol

Wings really took it to us the first two periods. You could tell they knew the stakes and wanted it. Kudos to their hard work.

Remember how I've been talking about Duchene's strength this year? How about him fending off the Mule leading up to that goal, then drawing the penalty in OT?

MacKinnon: 13 game point streak after that amazing pass on the GWG.

I appreicate it Matty but the jackets are dead.
Pathetic showing last night.

Am I doing the overly dramatic bit correctly?

Tim it's time the wings took a year off from the playoffs.
With the pens in shambles the Jackets could probably knock them off in 4-5 games.
It's our time to live now baby!

Wings are more than happy to lose in round 1 to the Bruins or Pens, but they want to keep the streak alive, even if it's just for a week.

Why don't we continue this tampa collapse, grab both of the wild cards for ourselves and both lose in the first round?

edit: that's my absolute best offer.

I noticed Stamkos was already wearing the "C" last night. Obvious choice, but that was quick.
