So fun. I wish I was that young again. Amazing how a simple wave made that kids night....no, probably made his week (might be longer if Santa wasn't on the way).

So cool. As the dad of a kid who is just starting to hero-worship hockey players, I can't tell you how much stuff like this sticks with a kid.

Just the smile on that kid is great. Anytime I can get Griffin to smile like that it's fantastic. We're going to Disney next Christmas and I found a video of them doing this light show on the castle and Griffin was in awe of it. Can't wait to actually get him there. His smile and excitement will be the best gift.

I have no problem with the Flyers. Except Hartnell. That guy can get fucked by a whale.

Nice win for CBJ tonight. 1 point out!

Rangers looks absolutely horrific. Henrik pulled in the 1st after 3 quick goals.

CBJ now down to 3rd string goalie. Trade for Miller?

Rangers are winning the cup this year. Sather will be hailed at a NY sports legend and hero for his stellar track record of team management. And AV will win coach of the year.

Btw, I love Crack!!!

A 4 goal game in December is nice but that doesn't lump you into the leadership category of Yzerman, Sakic and Toews. If Ovie could play more like a Datsyuk or Crosby with that kind of heart, I think he could be the best player in the game.

I never compared Ovechkin to Yzerman...i was saying that the thread was a page deep on a player, though great, is no longer playing. While AO put on a show and not a single word about it

What a fight! But it's times like that where I wish Lucic wouldn't fight so he wouldn't hurt himself lol

Probably cause you are one of two Caps fans and neither of you post regularly.

Yes and while I enjoy that run, I also like to live in the present. I'm not a Montreal Canadiens fan who just likes to point at the 24 Cup banners and say "We have more than you." Yes and if they didn't win again for the next 50 years, probably still will. I hate losing those points to teams in the division. Doesn't help that their top 3 centers are out with injuries, along with their #3 defenseman and #1 goalie.

it's december hockey bud, no need to worry until march/april

this post reminds me of a recent radio show topic, is anyone else growing really tired of the canadian NHL fans/players? and i don't really mean people on this site necessarily.

the cheap shotting and "hockey code" talk almost always comes from canadian players...we saw fans in canada basically burn their own city after a SC loss.

the ottawa front office...nuff said

goonery seems to have a broad acceptance with our neighbors to the north

and just the overall sense of entitlement is getting old...yea, this is your national game, we get it, let me know when the cup finally makes it's way "home" cause it hasn't been there since 1993

Yeah i sort of agree with you pittsburgh, especially on the entitlement front.

When the leafs play in columbus their fans are plentiful and are by far the most obnoxious group that shows up. Complaining about the arena, the city, etc. Plus they don't know anything about hockey which is shocking to me. It's not like that at all when Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Detroit or Chicago are in town.

edit: not that any of this applies to our resident canadian fans in this thread.

:thumbsup yea agreed, and can't emphasize the edit enough, i hate painting with such a broad brush

but to expand on that, the canadian media is absurd too. on so many levels. maybe it's time for canada to let the game grow and evolve. and then report on it in a responsible manner. the harsh reality is that American kids are starting to play the game the right way and are making their way through the club & junior ranks with cheap shots and fighting frowned upon (if not outright banned) rather than encouraged. canada should follow suit. there's no need for 2 enforcers or goons on the ice anymore. talent sells. fuck the code. play clean. report responsibly.

oh and fuck ottawa's front office, have i said that yet?

I'm not worried yet, just don't like it. Heck this team was out of the playoffs with two weeks left last year and almost went to the 3rd round. And that team wasn't as good as this team can be. Just sucks going to a shootout, knowing you're gonna lose. I'm sure it's creeping into their heads now.

Yup. Six this year and 11 going back to last year. It's better than a regulation loss but damn.

Yup. Six this year and 11 going back to last year. It's better than a regulation loss but damn.

yea i know what you mean...it's actually the exact opposite here :lol

you can clearly see teams take huge chances against the pens in OT because we're basically automatic in shootouts

Fleury is a wall and then they send:

Letang/Neal
Malkin
Crosby

at the other goalie....not.fair.
