Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Ray Emery and the Hawks nearing a deal.

So why the hell did we sign Antti Raanta? He's gotta be kicking himself for picking the Hawks over all the other potential options, since they won't even give him a look in the NHL now. WTF?

Alright since we should finally get closure on the Yotes tonight what do y'all think? I think it passes narrowly and they stay. Don't want it and would love for it to work but I just don't think it will, especially after 4 years now. It just made an already black eye worse for the NHL and the market.

They aren't going anywhere.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Yeah I've pretty much stopped caring about the PHX situation... They've (the NHL and Glendale) proven time and time again that nothing is going to change and they will remain a team that's by all accounts over achieving an a market that couldn't give two shits.

Is Raanta NHL ready? I know nothing about him.

lockman21 07-02-2013 12:31 PM

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Not to sound like a smart ass, but no way of knowing he's NHL ready until he's in the NHL.

He's not young (24), and the Hawks signed him to a 1 year deal with a $1.4 million cap hit. He'll luckily be a RFA after this year, so maybe their plan all along was to see how he fairs in Rockford and see how he adapts to our game over here, and then resign him for the following season.

Galiardi to the Flames for a 4th rounder. Thought he could go for more...

Eh, I think Calgary has to sign him now though.

Darren Dreger on NHL Live just now: "Interest in Clarkson is off the charts. Could have 20 offers on Friday."

Bob McKenzie says it's down to Boston and Dallas for Lecavalier too.

Detroit has been told that they're out of the race.

And Dreger/Ward now reporting that Dallas is out.

Looks like Letang is locked in. 8yrs/$58 mil

Well someone is on the way out, don't know who, but they need to move someone again. Full NTC as well! Flyers are winning

:lol

No words... just... nevermind, no words. I think I'm most surprised by the fact that I'm surprised.

From Dreger:
Like Lecavalier my issue is same; ZERO organizational direction. Valuable part of youth movement likely to be sacrificed for cap space

:lol CapGeek has them over the cap...and they still only have STEVE MASON as their 1 goaltender!

How can an organization be this bad? They do know Giroux has his contract expiring right?
