Stood behind the Phillies for 14 years of them missing the playoffs. I know all about waiting buddy

I just found out they sell a low profile one online. I'm thinking that they will look less dumb on whites. My brother does a good job bending them, but he's also got a limitless supply to experiment on. The wool models definitely seemed to break in better than the new model.

The Phils have been insanely popular since the new park opened. Winning a title helped but they were well on the way to being the most popular team in the city long before that.

I wasn't insinuating they weren't. When people who don't follow baseball in central new york or NEPA, or hell anywhere for that matter, suddently become Phillies fans after they win a championship, the new stadium argument doesn't hold.

That happens with every team though. The Phillies bandwagon can't hold a candle to Boston's.

It doesn't. I'm not as familiar with the Boston one simply because I live closer to the Yankees. But, after living in an area that had a Phillies farm system from 89-05 (?) and people still didnt' care about the Phillies until 2008? That's fucking annoying. I expect it with the big teams that have won tons of championships, but I always thought of teams like the Phils and O's, for example, were more of an intimate (ph)fanbase.

Proud to say I own one. I personally love them. Granted, I just hunted one down a few weeks ago.

Which one? The first ones are fucking stupid. The second ones are solid.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

I have the baby blue one. Something about it popped when I compared it to the dark blue ones...plus, I didn't like the jersey style (like the actual material), so I went with the baby blue because it popped and I liked the jersey material much more

edit: i waited forever to buy a third jersey..glad to say i have one and never have to buy a third jersey ever again if they keep similar colour schemes.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

I've got the first one. I like them a lot, and it harkens back to another time in the clubs history. The second one is an abortion in the name of commercialism. I'll never understand why they don't go back to a look similar to the Lemieux era. Sharing the current uni template with 2 other teams just doesn't sit well with me either.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

Speaking of jerseys, I own only two current players now: Briere black RBK Edge jersey that I wore to work tonight and a Coburn WC 2012 jersey that I had him sign after a game. I'm gonna frame it eventually since he's my favorite Flyer along with Couturier.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

see, if they did something similar to this for pittsburgh, i'd much rather it than what they did this past season with their third jersey

I had to listen to the Preds game on the radio all night tonight. Very frustrating that we can't make anything happen on the PP. Lord knows there have been enough of them in the first two games

Which fans? On here, are there any? I might be the closest thing to vancouver fan on here and I'm not too vocal about it.
