I don't think it's an overstatement to say that if the Oilers don't win here, that collapse is going to be the turning point for big changes this off season. Like most before them, there have been just too many disappointing failures with this group.

On the other hand, if they win it could be a good catapult for the playoffs.

Ending a playoff game on a Shootout would be ridiculous. Maybe they should just flip a coin and move on.

It’s even more ridiculous in soccer given the size of the net and the distance of the penalty spot. With that said it’s totally apples and orange to compare the two and makes much more sense and is more practical in soccer.

It would tie into the regular season. You know what's stupid? Playing a whole extra game after a whole game. The Olympics ended with a shootout and Forsberg's goal is iconic. 3 OT's is just not needed. Neither is 4. I've been to a 3 OT game and it sucked. I just wanted to go home after seeing 9 periods of hockey(it was a double header).:lol

Plus you can't get food. And it can ruin the next game.
