I am sure you could bet on tampa getting swept and it was probably below 5%.

I would rather miss the playoffs than get swept as a presidents trophy winner.

CBJ had the talent up front and in the back along with a marquee goalie to make moves for sure

Came back from a 3-0 deficit in that series in memory serves, SJ maybe. Probably that Martinez jerk! :p

2 years ago Nashville was an 8 seed, swept the number 1 seeded Hawks and made it to the cup final but got beaten by the Pens.

‘12 was the year LA was the 8 seed. ‘14 was the year they came back from 3-0 and Martinez sank the double OT goal to send the Rangers home crying.

The cup race is wide open this year.

Yeah, I was busting Sarah's chops with the Martinez crack - I will hate his guts until the day I croak! :lol

Honestly, I love the Rangers as my EC team but regardless of whether Chicago or LA won the WC I do not think the Rangers had any realistic chance of beating the Hawks or Kings, both of those teams were just too talented.

Technically that's every year. What makes it so great.

That it is.

TB is falling apart and likely done for tonight, Pens too perhaps.

Not sure the Sharks have what it takes, Jones is too leaky and just plain bad in big games plus Karlsson is not right.

Vegas is going to flame out, probably in round 2.

Boston and Toronto are going to beat each other up in this first round series and may be a bit gassed come round 2 regardless of who wins.

Flames goalie and their D just is not getting it done.

CO looks good at times and awful at others.

Not sure the Blues can ride a rookie goalie to a cup victory.

Winnipeg is much like Colorado, you never know which team is going to show up.

Nashville doesn't look that steady yet, nor does Dallas, that series probably goes 7 and I wouldn't bet on a winner.

Right now I would say either the Caps or Blue Jackets are the team to beat but only one will come out of the EC and frankly only Dallas and Nashville have the goalies who cap steal some games from COL or WASH.

That said, with the way this first round is going who the hell knows! Maybe they will go on strike! :lol

If the Pens lose tonight, it’ll be the first year since 2006 (the last year they missed) they haven’t won a single post-season game. At least teh Epic Tampa meltz overshadow the Pens melting :lol
