Well that was a crazy bounce. I could only tune in to the 3rd period, but it's been an entertaining one.

Sorry guys, I was away for the weekend. I do have to say that Nick Backstrom is the best passer in the game.

Thank you, and good night.

Mrazek played a great game, nice win by the Wings. Hopefully we come out with more in Game 4.

The lower level ones seem to be. Think they're almost all corporate seats.

That far corner is such an eye sore at Barclay's. That stupid car and empty space looks so fucking horrible.

Saw a list of teams that appear the most on "no trade" clauses, and the Islanders are in the top 5, supposedly because players don't want to play at Barclays.

Looks like Thomas Hickey is finally making a name for himself. Guy spent five years in the AHL. I think I remember him on Team Canada juniors awhile back.

Huge win !!! Yes yes yes!!! I think I did quite well not wake up the wife and kids or anyone else in the hotel, either.

Need to play pur best game of the series Wednesday and take control of this series. Thank god that play was offside and that goal was disallowed.

High 1st rounder by the kings in 2007. My brother has always liked him more than me and has often said he'd be an all star if he was 6'2. Of course, we'd have never gotten him off waivers when he struggled early in his career if he was that tall.

Is that a recent list? That was true for many years because Wang spent no money on the team and had a shoestring budget. We only got to the cap due to the buyout contracts and unattainable bonuses. Then you he didn't always charter the best flights and nickeled and dimed the team for everything. Plus the locker room at the coliseum was smaller than most college teams.

He obviously spends more money now on the team. Barclays has had some recent ice issues the last couple of weeks but it wasn't like that all year and the facility is top notch compared to what the players had at the Coliseum. I'm really curious to know when that list was made.

Sorry Sarah, missed that last night. Yeah pretty much this. If you go to a regular season game, the upper bowl will be close to full at faceoff and the lower bowl is never 100% and it doesn't look anywhere near full until about 10 minutes in. Yay big $$$$. Sad thing is, it was technically a sell out last night.

For Barclay's is a dumb reason, if that is the reason. Yeah it's stupid and all of that, don't get me wrong but I'd rather be playing there in Brooklyn instead of the old leaking building. Now had they got a new building out there...then fine but I think JLA is way beyond her years, Nassau was worse. Fun place to see a playoff game sure but....

Also wow Ducks. I know we've come to expect it from them but wow, I thought they might finally have it together. Not over though. If they can wake up, they can make a comeback of it. Maybe they'll want Jimmy Howard in the off season.

My thoughts on last night. Offense still fucking sucks. They played a great game overall but holy fuck they can't score. They need to do something this offseason to address it. Whether it's the system or they need to pay up to get Stamkos to get a shot in the arm, I dunno. That game looked like, ironically, game 3 against TBL last year. Stingy beyond belief and Mrazek doing what he does. While he didn't face much, he made the saves when he had to. Nice to see him get a game like that cause he hadn't in the last month or so. They are gonna need another game exactly like that tomorrow to have any chance of coming back.

That list was on both TSN and ESPN insider this year. Maybe a month or two ago.

I don't like this idea, and am almost 100% sure the league would never go for it, but wanted to bring it up for discussion. The argument that one of the Pens or Rangers will be gone in round 1, that's always gonna be a problem in today's NHL. If the argument that a top team might get knocked out. Just start in the conference finals then. In 98 and 99 the top 3 teams in the East were out in round one. In 2003, the Western Finals was the 6th and 7th seed. If you want the top teams to always advance, go watch the NBA. The NHL wants rivalries and 1-16 wouldn't get that. I mean hell, you can see the hate building up between the Wings and Lightning because of the last 2 playoff years.

As for Zatkoff’s comment about what's the difference between 2 hours and 5 hours on a plane...ask the Wings and Jackets if there is a difference. Ask the Stars how much they like it or liked it back when they were in the Pacific.

True, but I can see shifting time-zones frequently being a problem for some.

It's an interesting idea that's been floated around, but as Tim said, the NHL is currently more concerned with having rivalries in the playoffs. The current format achieves that, and I don't see them changing again anytime soon.

I have mixed feelings on it. First and foremost, there will ALWAYS be upsets in the NHL playoffs. The teams are too close in talent for it to never happen.

That said, from a best of the best true bracket standpoint...I don't hate 1 v 16 and to hell with east v west. It would probably have allowed that Kings v Hawks series to be the SCF a few years ago...which it probably should have been (and that is coming from a Rangers fan).

The issue is that building rivalries would be almost impossible to do under that format.

The most true statement is that the regular season mean shit right now. I tend to agree with that line of thinking. I would rather see them shorten the season to be honest.

Also, the current format allows the east to have playoffs that don't really matter. It masks how much better the west is until the finals.

Yeah, it was for this season. I'll try and find the article. Was written (maybe not posted here) about a month ago.
