Hate the Wings sitting back the way they did with a 5-2 lead. Did the same against the Wild before the break. Let's not create habits here. But, #1 in the Atlantic and tied for first (at least in points) in the East. Wings are old and done.

Love it. Will make it that much sweeter when the Rangers take out the Icelanders in the playoffs. Everyone will be all like "but we dominated the regular season matchups!"

really? why?

i didn't hate him by any means, he was just kinda...there

he won some faceoffs, scored every 20 games or so and that was about it

that being said, Lapierre could either be the perfect piece or a disaster waiting to happen

Speaking of that, Madden said yesterday on his show that the Pens are looking to move Kunitz and bring in.... wait for it....

Wait for it.....

Jagr.

* Not necessarily in the same deal.

yea i heard that too

ironically enough, Kunitz probably played his best game of the year last night. but his age+contract make him a piece that would be easy to part ways with. And Jagr...yea, why not? bring him in and see what he can do with real talent around him again

I could see it being like bringing in Hossa and it being a catalyst or being a complete disaster. I don't think there would be a middle ground.

i think he'd be great on the PP, and at this point in his career i think he'd be nothing but good for the locker room.

the less times we have to see Archabello and Ebbet (or Adams, but we know that isn't happening) the better

Oh the post all star game hangover. What happened 2-3 weeks ago. Was that the pre all star game hangover?

Still kind of a pain. The nice thing is he can play actual minutes night in and night out and be reasonably relied upon to fulfill a grinder's role. But he is certainly one of the bigger d-bags in the league...which the Pens kinda need right now anyways. A little more grit that can still skate.

Thank you, sir. Another year goes by. It's crazy. I can just remember like it was yesterday the last time my Colorado Avalanche were relevant.

Yeah amazing a team that has pretty much been around 20 years has as many Cups as a team that's been around almost 50.

I know, right? And to think the Penguins were almost going to Kansas City at one point. LOL.

Chirp Chirp Chirp...

Regular season means nothing. Icelanders can't be taken seriously until they get out of a single playoff round. I would take Boston, NY Rangers, Pitts, Detroit, and Montreal over the Icelanders in the playoffs any day.

They are having a great regular season.....but if I recall, the Caps used to have great regular seasons a lot too....

Penguins have more cups than Flyers, but i'm sure you knew that already

TMoore4075 01-28-2015 04:04 PM

Re: The NHL Thread

Yeah I wouldn't chirp yet because we've seen that happen before. Team dominates regular season against team X and then loses in the playoffs. Not trying to downplay the Isles season or anything but I know I'd watch my chirping. Hell even with the Wings sitting at #1 in the Atlantic, I'm not confident of their playoff chances. League is too wide open, and a lot of young guys on the team who haven't played in the playoffs much.

Oh. My. Goodness.

Caps and Isles in round one. Maybe they'll both lose just to keep it going.

Re: The NHL Thread

No chirping at all. I might be sticking my chest out a bit but that's all. He blamed the loss on a post all star game hangover completely ignoring the fact the isles have completely dominated the rag$ so far this year. Rag$ clearly don't match up well against us . It had nothing to do with the all star break. Give credit where credit is due.
