To go with my previous few posts on the previous page - here's what I mean. The one I recently bought is authentic from Mellon Arena, so it's better than the nhlshop.com's, but it's still not perfect. The top one is the one I just bought. The middle one is a game-issued Malkin jersey. The last is obviously a photo of Malkin from a 2008-2009 game.

And I think I've actually found the company that does the penguins customization. Shaaaaweet.

I don't know about you guys, but I absolutely notice a difference.

Not saying there's anything wrong with buying the fake ones, as I own a couple myself, but there's definitely a difference. My fake ones have fallen apart before pretty quickly too. They're a great buy for ~$40-$50.

I like to buy the sweaters blank, then have them sew the letters/numbers at my local shop here. I know most of the staff there, so they just make me pay for the actual lettering and then sew it on for me for free. Those are my favorites.

There's a shop in Illinois that does great work, so I'm trying to see how my Orpik jersey turns out from there. I just don't know if I'm getting this year's 2.0 or last year's 2.0. It's such a headache. :( I also know of the shop that does the lettering for the actual game worn blackhawks jersey, so i'm just trying to find the Pens one. Such. A. Headache.

ic, I guess if your top priority is getting a jersey as authentic as possible, then yeah, there's a lot of stuff you gotta dig through before you find the real thing. But for me, as long as the price is right and it's close enough, i've got no problem.

I actually remember FSN doing an intermission special on the shop in Pittsburgh that does all of the customization for the team. Don't remember who it was though

yeah, I'm not a fan of the fakes either. I'd rather pay more money to get the real deal that's durable. I'm just a stickler about the customization (as I've already made abundantly clear :lol)

And it's funny because that baby blue pens jersey is such a unique color..depending on what background is in the photo and flash characteristics, it can show as a pale baby blue or an extremely bright and dark baby blue (if that makes sense)...just makes it even harder trying to get the legit one :lol

And as far as the auth/fake argument goes, as long as it's close, I'll buy it. I'm only a snob with Phillies jerseys and a mild snob with hockey. NFL boots are so easy to pull off that it's absolutely stupid to buy a screenprinted jersey.

That being said, hockey jerseys are the best jerseys in the world.

Like I said before, I think the most frustrating thing is that you can't even go to the arena to find a genuine authentic jersey. They're some of the worst I've seen. I'm guessing they're banking on a lot of people not noticing/caring and buying em anyways while the jerseys themselves clearly cost a lot less to manufacture than the real ones.

Only when we talk abou the Orioles! And I don't mean the bright orange jerseys that they had those few times...those were hideous. Orange lettering and trim and whatnot is fine....but, gah, orange as primary jersey color is just .... :ugh

all of this is a friendly dig, tis all :)

Pretty sure this has been discussed before, but while we're on the subject, what's everybody's favorite NHL uniform?

Don't know exactly why, but I've always loved the 70's era Canucks. Like the color scheme and the logo is classic.

http://nhluniforms.com/Canucks/Canucks03.html

My favorite worst uniform has got to be the flying duck, LOL, just pure 90s awesomeness right there. I'd contemplate buying one just to relish in its ridiculousness.

Aucoin tripped Quincey and that's how he was open. Didn't do it on purpsoe but a penalty never the less. If this was Feb I'd be ok but with 9-10 games left it's gonna be hard to get it going soon enough to make a run. :-/

I dunno....Wings are still dealing with a ton of injuries right? And should get fully healthy for the playoffs, I thought. I don't know, I wouldn't worry too much. Wings way too experienced.

Chaos and multiple fights in the Dallas game. The most amusing thing was watching the one guy from each team that didn't seem interested in fighting, and they just kind of stood there talking.

"Uhh...I'm not really sure."

They will be mostly healthy by playoffs. Pavel is back, Lidstrom should be back this weekend. I worry about Howards groin and no Darren Helm. Helm is the guy you love to have at the playoffs. He was great in 08 and 09 and was huge against SJ last year. My worries are actually less with injuries and more with how they are playing. They played better in SJ on Sat and lost but then the first period against the Caps was brutal. They only have 9 games to get going. If they don't it'll be over quick.

Would prefer to have Dallas and LA in the playoffs. Amazing that the Sharks could miss the playoffs. Made moves to switch things up to hope to take the next step past the WCF's and they might be taking a step out of the top 8.

ALSO, thank you Oilers! I needed that win by you guys in the worst way.

Speaking of which, do I have to wait until they are officially eliminated to start the 12/13 thread?

:lol I'm sorry. Last night was such a dagger for them. I mean, looking at their schedule, they obviously have plenty of chances to make their own destiny with 2 games against Dallas, 2 games against Phoenix, a game against Colorado, and 2 games against LA (God that's ridiculous, they play every team their battling...most multiple times...), but they certainly made it really difficult on themselves last night.

A win against Phoenix and Colorado here these next couple days though, regardless of what happens against Boston, and they are right back in it.

You are correct!!!! :thumbsup :lol

But really. If the Flyers could have mustered anything on the PP they would have had them. I mean they outshot them like 35-13 for the game. And both teams got a fluke goal/bounce.

Pens scare me like whoa....

New videos for the playoffs:

Here is one for the Sedins. I was hoping it was Marchand punching Daniel over and over again.

I loved the part of 24/7 when Laviolette got on the refs for letting the crowd influence them in Montreal. "Typical Montreal bull shit." :lol

I don't like the guy they chose for the voiceover.

Also, the Sedins are freaks. FREAKS.

And we got Tim complaining that Darren f'n Helm might not be back for the playoffs. F off! :lol

But really, I can't believe the Hawks are back to 2 pts behind Nashville and Detroit. I'm super impressed with the way they've come together since Toews went down. The depth guys are really getting it done right now.

Wow, these commercials are really awful. I mean, cool to see Datsyuk's crazy moves. But that narrator is terrible. Huge step down from the commercials last few years.

Agreed. We'll see what happens. Would be devastating for them coming down the stretch.

good example of when fights are acceptable in hockey, especially line brawls, within the context of the game. Also good example of why Steve Ott is a penis: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eG6wQRnnT8o

These clips have shown up in this thread, but they never get old. Love the teamsmanship displayed by the Bruins throughout this game.

And Ference's hit later in the game... priceless.

The NHL should just commission the services of HBO to film, write, and edit their playoff commercials. They can do no wrong.
