Looking to buy the DMB Live 25 set… hoping maybe someone on here has any idea where I could find a moderately priced set? Or anyone have an extra just laying around collecting dust lol… I’m desperate here!

Plenty available on Discogs.

Ignore Hilly - there are 3 on discogs, I wouldn’t consider that “plenty”

They are all pricing. The cheapest option is $499 (and coming from Canada - that’s from an Ant, as well, though I’m not sure he’s active here these days). The 2 copies being sold from the US for $530 and $550.

https://www.discogs.com/Dave-Matthew...lease/10575302

There’s a few on eBay, but all are $750+

Ya I came here after looking at how bad it was on Discogs lol… so you think it’s safe to say I missed the first boat and I’m just gonna have to pay around 500 for it at this point?

The 3 sellers on Discogs all look legit I just remember when this first came out it was under 200, and I’m clearly regretting not pulling the trigger then!

Covid upped the prices of all hobby stuff

Guitar prices have skyrocketed. Vinyl the same.

It's honestly on par for the sought/out of press after DMB vinyl releases. $500 is 285% of the original msrp. LT 1-7, benaroya hall (430% wow), Live 25, even UTTAD gatefold are all 200%-300% of their original price.

Anyone need the UTTAD mis-pressing?

Yes. Ignore me directing you to where there are multiple copies priced 1/3 less than ebay. Ignore me. It is a trap.

Yeah, I would be surprised to see this sell south of $350 at this point, and $400-$500 is probably realistic.

It was $170 or $175 when it was released, and there's not a ton of these out there. It'll settle around what Live Trax 1 (Blue) goes for, I think. Both incredibly high-demand, hard-to-find, sets.

Maybe if the vinyl resurgence crashes considerably, or DMB does something to make them a pariah, the price will come down. Otherwise, it'll likely only going to get pricier from here without a reissue

This is actually good to know. I’ve been doing the “audiophile” thing for a few years now but I’ve just started going down the vinyl path and it’s a lot scarier than I thought it would be. I thought I had issues spending a lot before on my setup when it was off the computer… vinyl (specifically DMB) is proving to be insane.

Haha thanks Hilly, I should’ve clarified I came from there first and thought I could find refuge on Ants. Clearly there is no refuge…

Ya I think you’re right…considering I’m a hardcore, the pariah theory would suck lol. I haven’t even gone down the LT vinyl road yet, I started at studio albums and this was the first live set I was chasing because it’s been on my radar forever. I had no idea the LT were just as bad.

Unfortunately true on both sides :(

On the last two guitars I bought I didn't get much of a discount on one and the second there was no discount at all, guy said he could sell it full MSRP and he was right.

Vinyl as a medium is notorious for sudden price skyrocketing when things go out of press. Particularly high quality, beloved releases. The UUTAD gatefold was easily available for a long time and I was amazed to see that the Discogs price had doubled* for something that was about $30 a year ago.

Another prime example are the 2014 Beatles mono reissues. Sgt peppers (all of the albums) were easily available for $25 for a FLAWLESS reissue that had plenty of copies pressed and now they're going for $190.

I'll add one more, Daft Punk Discovery, which could be the nicest pressing in my collection. I picked it up for $18 off the shelf at BestBuy about 2 years ago and now it's $100 min.

Ya that’s crazy, so basically no rhyme or reason and the only way to cover your ass is to grab it the first second you can.

Definitely so go buy Crash right now if you don't already have it.

I don’t have it and it’s next on the list… I was trying to get the splatter edition but after this conversation I might just pull the trigger on the standard 20th Ann edition I keep seeing.

While the prices for this on vinyl have gone out of control, I still think it is one of the band's best releases in terms of quality on vinyl. It is worth having in your arsenal if you can find one at a price you're ok with.

Fingers crossed they do a re release on it. I couldn't afford it at the time it came out. I def am not paying whatever inflated prices are for resale now.

One of the most quiet & quality band anniversary vinyls I own. Might be my favorite DMB vinyl, until they release Listener Supported for the 25th anniversary….

I’d be shocked if they ever fully re-pressed this with the box and booklet. Maybe could see a lesser-packaged reissue.

Retail was ~$175 if I recall correctly. Maybe if they took out the add-ons they could get it down to $100 and that would probably make sense for a reissue.

Still, I don’t think they revisit this one sadly.

Oh id be fine with this. Just give us the box style that the LT series comes in on vinyl and the records and call it a day.

Still a little salty that i had to pay $175 for the record and a like $30 to get the digital files. For $175, felt like the digital download should have been included. Overall though, love the release and glad I snagged one, i listen to the digital files a lot. If I remember correctly, it didnt sell out for a couple of days after it was announced.
