Re: When I'm Weary
I just cried listening to this song. Short and really gd sweet.

Re: When I'm Weary
Beautiful song.

Re: When I'm Weary
Should have been longer and with additional instruments coloring it, but it is beautiful. Dave's voice is just stupendous and we are blessed to be able to hear him sing.

I'm gonna have to start skipping this song but not because I don't like it, because my eyes get all wet and shit every time and I just can't have that be happening.

Re: When I'm Weary
Definitely one of, if not, my favorite song on the new album. Like many have said, I wish it was longer.
|
Re: When I'm Weary
Might be my favorite sub-2:30 minute song on a DM/DMB album. It and Belly Full fight hard.
|
Re: When I'm Weary
This is amazing, his voice on this is unreal

Re: When I'm Weary
This is a wonderful track but to me it is more of a "outro" to the album than some stand alone song. This song seems intentional in its position on the track list. Like closing this albums chapter. With how much music they had to choose from, I think we will see another DMB album much sooner than later. Next year perhaps.

I think this is my favorite tune on the record.

Re: When I'm Weary
Wow, I agree with most on this song. Beautifully moving.
How is this the same guy who sang That Girl is You? |
Re: When I'm Weary
This song is sweet, and Dave's vocals are incredible.

Just wanted to check again, anyone have the sheet music for this?

Anyone catch this cover from Trey Anastasio Band’s trumpet player Jennifer Hartswick?

I'd rather see it in the opener slot: When I'm Weary > Again and Again + in this moment my playlist got shuffled: When I'm Weary > Mercy Works fine for me. |
Re: When I'm Weary
So I was smoking a Hollywood Bowl the other night, listening to Jon Koch's wonderful recording of this, and thought Mark Batson did a fine job with the piano duet with Dave. A short little intro to make the song 5 seconds longer, otherwise very similar to the album version. Would've loved it if there had been a string section anywhere in Hollywood that could have played on this, but oh well! ...as if a full orchestra would ever join DMB onstage mid-show like that?!? I must be dreaming!:rolleyes

Re: When I'm Weary
Best song on the album, and one of the best songs in many years from this band.

I listened to When I'm Weary for the first time in a long while today and kinda liked it? Maybe it's just the quarantine getting to me.

Re: When I'm Weary
There is nothing wrong with the song. It's a 2 minute Dave piano song that has 1 play live. I just dont think many people think about the song at all. It would be fine ifwas played e1 a few nights each tour or as a change up to the Dave solo set break instead of Here On Out
|
Re: When I'm Weary
They actually played it once with Buddy and Dave too which confused me why it wasn’t a more regular set break for the band. Or even acting as an intro for another piano based song like SAWG or VITR (also underplayed since the band got a keys player back).
