yeah, he's a really cool guy too, i dont know why he just freaked out because people were actually saying trey was the best guitar player in that group. its quite plausible actually...bias is one thing but you clearly know a lot about music, whether that makes you seem condescending or not, i'd say judging by your posts you have good reason to put trey over jerry, jimmy, or jake.

I just went to charleston (mind blowing) but im afraid thats it for me this year. 7 shows in 2 years though, im pretty proud of that. also hitting up my morning jacket in louisville next week and DMB in charlottesville. should be a helluva fall

Yeah I know how that goes. I hate even mentioning I study music, people will jump on that more than anything. It's all good though, in the end it is a forum and debates are debates. When that person mentioned I was bias because of my avatar it kind of pissed me off, haha. Anyways, what shows are you hitting this fall?

its hard to argue about guitar with people that have no clue about technical skill or theory and rely totally on what they hear. im limited in my knowledge but its impossible to debate with people that use arguments like "____ is just a better player, you're crazy to disagree with me". i had a similar argument a few weeks ago where i got made to look like a complete douche because people that had no knowledge of guitar really were making statements they couldnt back up, and because i brought in the whole "well, do you even play guitar?" argument i was automatically insane. god forbid you have the sightest clue about guitar when discussing....guitar.
