Another amazing experience on the road travelling to see this band and they once again did not disappoint. The city of Cville was great and very welcoming to the fans coming in, photo exhibit, original van were a nice added touch and I appreciated the opportunity to grab my print prior to the show. Mono Loco and the Downtown Mall was good and I enjoyed meeting up with new and old friends. The show was excellent and the band was dialed in for sure, STJL as an opener for the first time since 94 and 3 new debuted songs were awesome, although it takes me a few listens before I can really connect with them, but first impressions of Samurai Cop, Bizmark, & Bob Law were good ones. Love me some Big Eyed Fish, OSW, and Warehouse, the crowd was energized and it seemed it was a seasoned DMB crowd. The encore was special with Last Stop and Dave adding Tripping Billies. Overall a very memorable experience. The lots were full with fun and it was awesome to meet up with Mike, Ray, and new to me Josh; keep on keeping on boys and I will see you at the Gorge. Special shout out to Eric for great friendship and the chance to share the experience. I will see you VA next month for both shows and closing out the tour at the Gorge. Be well, do good work, and keep in touch.

Good show. Sugar Will, Last Stop were nice surprises. Jimi was among the best I have heard. John D'Earth, RR, and Jeff killed it. New songs added an intrequing dimension. Lots of old school classics. Great vibe. A very special evening all round.

This was the best DMB show that I've seen. The energy in the stadium was awesome and I don't need to even mention the set list! Sugar Will was off the charts! Ants was even more high energy than usual! Dave and Carter both signed autographs and shook hands at the rail. How fantastic!! Love.

Charlottesville on derby Saturday set the stage for the Dave Matthews Band 25th Anniversary show, this would be the bands 9th performance at the John Paul Jones Arena since opening it back in 2006. A sunny day broke free in Virginia after ten straight days of rain & graced wonderful tailgate and much anticipation for this monumental show. Jane- opens the show, very rare, a classic gets the night rolling. WTWE- will be burning one; Dave makes a funny reference to marijuana smoking after Sweet world- great placement here, this song has been tucked away for majority of the last 8 years, great spot for it. Why I am-always appropriate, most fitting, the energy is high and passionate. #41 Samurai Cop- absolutely beautiful fell in love with this one from the first note. DDTW- The show picks right back up with a big DDTW Bob Law- interesting placement here, kinda sapped the energy and flow out of things, I love that they are creating new music though and never mind getting debut’s WWYS> BEF…always beautiful to get a big eyed fish at any show. Bismark- I like this one also, made for a choppy flow in the early half of the show. Sugar Will- nothing will ever capture the magic of the 04 sugar wills, however this was a pretty good take on it. Belly Belly- Phenomenal spot here with this joy packed track off AFTW Virginia in The Rain- VA had been in the rain for the last week. My first time hearing this live, gorgeous song, reminds me a bit of a dream so real. Warehouse- Arguably the show begins here; the roof gets ripped off the place with this Warehouse, outstanding bliss. Jimi- standard & thankfully a short JIMI here…the Prince tribute was fitting. Space Between- Through the Billies encore..I wish I could capture these 40minutes in a bottle. These are the types of moments that sum up 25years of this band, reflection, joy, sadness, hoe downs, grit, tears, & euphoria.. This show had it all. We were lucky to be alive and witness another magical night on lucky May 7th of 2016. Cheers to many more years.

This was my first show in Charlottesville and I have to say not only did it not meet my expectations but I will probably never go back to this venue again. Most absurd parking and security situation I ever dealt with before and the beer policy is just as absurd. As for the show itself, you\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'d think that a 25\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'th anniversary show would be a celebration of the band\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s roots, not an excuse to play some new DMB songs no one was asking to hear. As for The Last Stop half the audience left while it was playing so apparently the momentum has kind of died for that song. Other than the new songs and The Last Stop I heard nothing new that I haven\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t heard at every other show in the past 4 years.

Above average show. I was hoping for more of the songs from the older/earlier days as part of a 25th Anniversary Show. The 3 new songs in the middle part of show seemed to suck the energy out of the crowd. Strong opening hour thru #41 and strong last hour+ from Warehouse thru Grey Street and the 3 song encore of Ants, Last Stop, and Tripping Billies.

Show was a mix, not epic, not at all bad. It's an average DMB show where expectations were high(est). 41, Grey St, Ants, Last Stop were all great. The 3 new songs and Sugar Will bust out were cool, but setlist order killed that middle half of the show. "Prince homage" a little lame since they do that all the time, but more spirited than usual. The filler songs (STJL, WWE, WIA, DDTW, BEF, BBN, SB) were too many and not "favs". Trade out 3 of them for Stone/Pig/2Step/Typical/Recently/Snow Outside etc and the set reads a lot better. Encore was stellar and overall they played everything great, but this is a very solid, not epic show. Scott Stadium 01 is a 1 star. JPJ 2010N1 is a 5 star.

Solid set with a couple new songs. OSW, 41, Jimi, Last Stop, Ants and Billies. Not the degree of guesting I had hoped for and no double encore (one can dream), but a solid night and good 2016 kick off. Band sounded on, given first night of tour.

No complaints! Great hometown show. A lot of classics with OSW, #41, Jane, Grey Street and more. Big surprise of the night was the return of Sugar Will and 3 NEW SONGS. I liked Samurai Cop and Bismark. I hope they keep playing them. The Ants/Last Stop/Billie encode was strong. Great energy and they were having fun tonight.

The good: first hour through #41. The frustrating: the middle third. Big Eyed Fish and Don't Drink the Water were phenomenal, but a bunch of new and slow content really killed the crowd.
The great: last hour. Warehouse through the encores were completely on point, the sexy MF homage to Prince was super fun, and they were on fire for the three song encore.

The band overall seems in top form, very energetic and very glad to be starting a tour. Hope they fix the middle bit of the set list!

This was my 60th show (I think) and I am so happy to have been in C-Ville again. This was a solid concert and I have not been this impressed at a DMB show in a long time... for a 25th anniversary show, my only critiques would be no long jams that blew my mind and there could have been different guests (Butch, Warren, etc.). Some highlights for me were STJL opener, OSW, the three song debuts (and good songs, too), Virginia in the Rain (my 2nd time), and hearing Sugar Will again after first hearing it in Jul2004. I have to say, at first I was annoyed there was no Bartender, but Bismark into SW did blow my mind. WH --> JT --> SMF was fun as hell and so glad there was only one BW song played. The performances were solid and this concert brought me back to the 2010 shows (AM to LS was such a cool surprise). Oh, the ho-down was hilarious and I love the cartoons! Thanks to all of my Ants friends for a good, good time and not letting me miss out on such a fun weekend with all of you!!! A great start to the tour and I cannot wait to see what else is to come this year... Get Sum ; )

Overall a decent show that would have been great with a more intentional middle section. I think most of the angst about this show will stem from the expectations most of us had with it being their \"25th anniversary show.\" Still, there was a very solid opening to the show and an exceptional encore. Good energy from the boys - I\'m looking forward to Alpine. Ultimately I may just have to right size my expectations for this band as every show can\'t be the best.

Strong collection of classics songs with a killer last hour! Only complaint was the Bismark -> Virginia in the Rain stretch that lost a lot of crowd energy for a while. The band didn\'t seem to have the nervousness about playing in Charlottesville that they\'ve had in the past.

This was easily the best DMB show I've ever been to. The 25th anniversary in their hometown had everything a seasoned fan was looking for: liberations (Sugar Will and LAST STOP), brand new song debuts, and a guest (John D'Earth). The energy in JPJ was absolutely through the roof. I thought it was a nice touch that they opened with TSTJL, the first song Dave ever wrote. All 3 debuts were very good, much better than the 4 songs the band debuted in the 2015 tour which leaves me hopeful for the new album. Sugar Will liberation since 2010 was crazy, even though many people didn't know what was going on. Jimi was the best I've ever seen it: John D'Earth crushed it and the new Sexy MF jam was really high energy and so fun to dance to. Ants Marching had an awesome intro featuring Boyd soloing for like 5 minutes into this cool little country-style fiddle jam. And finally... Last Stop. When Dave busted out the 12 string in the encore I knew they were going to liberate it since 2010. The outro into an unplanned Billies was also really special. I couldn't imagine anyone giving this less than 5 stars and I couldn't have imagined a better 25th anniversary for the band.

One of the best shows Ive ever been to period. For the first time in a while, the bands energy blew me away. They were there to put on something special and man did they deliver. The classics were incredible with some of the best versions of 41, Ants and Jimi Ive heard. 3 new songs - the first of which I really liked. Ending w/ an encore of Ants, Last Stop (first since 2010) and then an ad hoc Billies sent us off happy campers. Oh and just throw a little Sugar Will into the mix and I must say I was beyond impressed. Well done DMB - can\'t wait for the rest of the tour.
