Overall a solid show. The hits kept coming, but ending with Jimi was a let down. I had some good energy, but lost steam when Jimi started.

Good solid show. Dave's voice seemed to be a little soft. But the music was great, and all performed well.

A solid if unspectacular set. This one really seemed to be setting up for the Saturday event (more on that next). Sugar Will was a nice addition and I think I like Gravedigger more than some. Obviously LIOG was good and Grey Street is often fun. The Sexy MF outro on Jimi Thing was arguably the highlight.

Incredible show! They sounded really tight and the setlist was terrific! Such an old-school 5 song run to start the show. A few highlights, just off the top of my head: LIOG (ridiculously good), Proudest Monkey, Gravedigger (haunting version with a beautiful intro), Jimi (slammin'), Sister (really nice performance), and Typical Situation. There are others, but those jump out immediately. Solid overall, and an awesome night!! So looking forward to tomorrow!

Great show. A lot of old songs mixed with a few new ones. Liked the new Sexy M.F. ending. Chants from the crowd for Thank You during Jimi Thing seemed to kill Dave's Scatting which was a bummer. They sounded great but seemed like they were holding back for Sat. night. Alpine is by far the best place to see them in the Midwest.

Great show but a crazy packed pit. I\'ve been waiting for Sugar Will for awhile. This show changed my mind on Death on the High Seas - I don\'t hate it anymore

after hearing the terrible reviews of lackluster shows so far this year I was concerned for a weak show. The band must have read the reviews and decided to shut the nay-sayers up with one hell of a good show! true dmb fans had to have loved the show even though there were a few "slower" moments. ramping back up to bring the house down with some old favorites along with 2 "first for this year" songs. overall a great time with great people!

1st show on the rail, just off center of Dave--awesome experience. Great show, just not my favorite set.
WWYS was a surprise opener that brought a lot of energy right off the bat. Personal favorites were Warehouse, LIOG, and Sugar Will. Bring on Saturday night!

Didn\'t hear an actual Dodo tease, but maybe Crumbo picked it up on the tape, so I\'ll be interested to listen when it comes out... Otherwise, what a killer show and great way to open the weekend! Highlights for me were Proudest Monkey, LIOG, Sugar Will (first time hearing it since 2006), Typical, and Why I Am.

My 43rd show overall and 18th at Alpine. Energy and crowd participation came out strong with WWYS, Warehouse and Jane. After that things were up and down, with the 2 piano songs sucking the air out of the pavilion. Highlites were jam-heavy versions of Crush and LIOG. Typical and Billies were also nice early 90\'s throwbacks. DMB + Alpine is still the best, even for this average show.

The whole show was just meh. Warehouse seemed faster. Seven seemed slow. Sound was terrible on a couple songs. Jimi to close the set wasn't my favorite and the encore did nothing for me.

Lots of energy, great crowd (my favorite Alpine crowd ever). Set list just wasn\\\'t what I liked, and I\'m probably not being fair comparing to N1 at Alpine last year or N1 Chicago 2 years ago which were my favorite shows. But the band sounded/played fantastic - they were having fun. Sound wasn\\\'t great for Death on the High Seas, couldn\\\'t hear Dave at all. Probably my least favorite show I\\\'ve seen, but cannot complain about a night of great music with good people.

Wow, what a set! WWYS to open threw me for a loop, but kicked up the energy and it didn\'t really drop throughout the show. A few cookie cutter solos from Boyd, but he loostened up as the show went on. Jeff and Rashawan were on point, and the extended Jimi jam even made Sexy MF tolerable. One of the best sets I\'ve seen at Alpine. Can\'t wait to see what they pull out tomorrow night!

An overall solid show. The opening run brought good energy. Typical situation was enjoyable and Gray street had good energy. Bob Law has good potential as well. I\'m ready for a break from Jimi Thing, but you have to just expect it and live with it at this point. Overall a good show.

WWYS and Warehouse got the show off to a high energy start. Loved the run from LIOG through Typical situation, with those two songs being the highlights of the night for me. Had not seen Sugar Will since 2004 so enjoyed that as well.
Great crowd and overall good flow. Encore was a bit weak to me though and overall show could have had more song play time. Looking forward to night 2.

Alpine is always an awesome time. The show was pretty good, didn\\\\\\\'t care for either of the 2 piano songs. Hearing Sugar Will was probably my highlight from night 1. I wasn\\\\\\\'t thrilled to say the least when jimi closed out the main set.

The boys were very solid tonight and the set list was fantastic. A lot of energy throughout the entire show, with the exception of the new Death on the High Seas.
Alpine shows are always strong and this one held its own. Highlights included the opening with WWYS - always a pleaser. Grey st is a fav of mine, done great tonight. Typical rocked with some amazing dueling between The horns. Gravedigger was killer strong with solos all around. looking forward to see what's left for tomorrow night!

WWYS as the opener worked well!!! Dave seemed to be a bit on the congested side.....voice was very raspy! (which I enjoyed however). Good flow and vibe which should carry over into Saturdays show! Two Step seems evident for Saturday Night!
