Been seeing DMB for about 15 years and always have a great time. Show was really fun, it started raining during the peak of don’t drink the water and everyone went insane which carried over into Grey Street. The only issue I have with this band is that they don’t know how to change with the flow of a show. At the end of Grey Street it stopped raining and the crowd was prime for a barn burner, they just let us down…I could whistle if I could but I can’t so I don’t think I should… The Seek Up opening jam was some of the best DMB I’ve seen in a long time. It shows how much potential this band has but I feel like they don’t reach it or push the envelope. Maybe the year off will do them well. That being said it was a great time and would go tonight if they were back in NY.

Good but not great show. Two things saved this show. First was the opening three songs, Granny, OSW, and Seek Up. Good energy good vibe. Then blah...then it started raining. That brought the energy back and yes some people did leave. Then the flow caused it to go dead and the energy never really returned. What could have helped? JTR would have been a showstopper. Four new songs in one night is too much, give us two. Bring back some songs that haven\'t been played for a while(Last Stop was played three times at the beginning of this tour then they stopped, I have never heard it). This was my 32nd show so I am not exactly a newbie. Mix it up guys, I\'ve seen you do better. Make 25 a special number. Hoping for a better weekend.

Let me start off by saying that I have been to 36 Dave Shows since 1997 (Jones Beach night 1 in 97 being my first ever show--Bela Fleck and Popper!!!) I am not saying this to give myself a pat on the back because I have been to more shows than many of you, Believe me, I am well aware that I have also been to far less shows than many of you as well. I am just trying to give anyone that reads this a frame of reference as to where I'm coming from. Last night's show was a complete disappointment overall. I just think that this band has gotten LAZY. I used to see this band multiple times on tours and every show was different, and by different I don't mean the order of the songs. By different I mean the actual songs played. You never knew when you would get a seek up (the one last night was intense), or a nice OSW opener. Grey Street used to be a delicious yummy treat because it wasn't played at almost every show and I still love the song, but it just speaks to the point I am trying to make that it is played at almost every show. Same goes for Jimi Thing, Watchtower, Granny etc... These were rarities that were a treat to hear. Over the last 5 years this band has lost something and to me that something is the spark and creativity and ability to STRUCTURE a concert. Look, I go to lots of concerts. I have seen Grateful Dead related bands more times than I care to count (probably at least 70) and many Bruce Springsteen shows as well... there are many others as well, but I chose those two for a reason. Phil Lesh is 76 years old and the recipient of a liver transplant and this guy goes out there with different lineups of players all the time and delivers. He can do a 10 show run at the Cap in Portchester and repeat one song MAYBE. Dead & Company have just started their summer tour and through the first 5 shows there have been no repeated songs, obviously this won't last but you get my drift. Bruce Springsteen on the other hand is 66, ten years younger than Phil, and has been playing with the same band for years. These days you don't go to multiple Bruce shows because you know what you're getting: The same basic set with 4-5 wild cards out of usually 25 or so songs. You go to one, you have a blast and you wait until the following year when the setlist will be switched up. What is Dave now??? Which path is he going down??? My wife, unfortunately, is a z100 girl. She went to see Beyonce a week or so ago, I bring this up because looking at Dave's sets this tour is almost like Looking at a Beyonce setlist!!! The same songs every night!!! Don't believe me? Review the setlists... Seek up, Seven, OSW and Grey St. have been played over 10 times already in 19 shows, Samurai, Bismark, Bob LAw have been played at ALMOST every show. Don't get me started on Jimi thing which has been overplayed for years at this point. Now don't get me wrong, last night was my first and only show of this tour so I LOVED the opening sequence of Granny, OSW, and Seek Up... Hell, I even loved Seven last night as it seemed Dave was really into it. I still have to question why he is playing that song so much though... There is so much to draw from, why play the same songs night after night... My answer is that they don't care to rehearse more songs before a tour. Dead and Company, a bunch of old men with John Mayer rehearsed 130 songs prior to this tour ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY!!! And Mayer has just been playing this stuff for a year. On the other hand we have Dave and the guys who have been playing for 25 years together and have an expansive catalogue rehearsed maybe, MAYBE 50 songs. It's sad really. I ask again, what does Dave want to be? Does he want to be the band that always managed to surprise their audience, or does he want to be a band that runs out the same 15 songs and mixes up 5 throughout a tour? That being said, song selection hasn't even been my biggest gripe with the band over the last 3 years, it's been the actual flow of the shows. Simply put there is none. Last night you have a great high energy 4 songs to open the show and then you bring the energy down and pretty much tell everyone to go to the bathroom for the next 3 songs (death, YMDT, Samurai)??? I don't get it the life was sucked out of the place. Crush came next (my wedding song) and got everyone grooving and singing along again, then Digging a Ditch... Look I can't complain about the song, I love that song, I love pretty much every song from thge Lillywhite Sessions, but he lost the crowd again with it even though I was in my glory. Then the rains came... right in time for DDTW which got the energy going again, not one of my favorite songs, but all I am talking about is flow here, Energy was high, then the skies really opened up and it was pouring for Grey St. Nobody went to seek cover, everyone was dancing and singing along until... gravedigger. UGH... Yeah we get it, its raining and you want to be buried so you can feel it... Come on man, we don't need a song with rain in it because its raining, give us more credit than that. How about you play Two Step in that spot... Many of us have fond memories of that epic Two Step in the pouring rain at Giants stadium, or, if you must sing a song with rain, what about john the f'n revelator??? Nope. Instead you play a funeral dirge. Then Bismark, ok, good song, liked it, but it did nothing for the energy of the show that at this point was as soggy as my clothes. Look at this sequence Gravedigger, Bismark, Rooftop, Crash, Bob Law????? COME ONE NOW WE ALL JUST GOT SOAKING WET!!!! Throw us a damn bone here. Then Ants which picked up the crowd and the new end jam was great to close the set. Why I am to open the encore... Look I get it that the song is a tribute to Leroi, but it's not an encore song, it's not a great song, how about you play Typical or Say goodbye as a tribute to Leroi? Let's face it every single time Coffin or Ross blow a note it's a tribute to the big man in the sunglasses! Then Watchtower... Used to be my favorite when it was played 1-4 times an entire tour. Ever since it became a 5/10 show thing it lost it for me. I think that time off is exactly what this band needs.

Cool venue, good set, and fun bus ride from Manhattan on Rocksoff Party Bus. People who consistently complain about setlists have to just realize this is how it is every year. They always seem to rotate in 3-5 new songs and play them to the death for the first half of the tour. I don\\\'t understand the complaints about Watchtower either...it was amazing tonight!! I\\\'m not bitching about getting Seek Up 3/5 shows this year. The boys are playing so well. Was in a suite for this show which was good for staying dry...but being in the rain would have been fun too. Would definitely go back to Jones Beach..

Grey Street in the pouring rain was amazing. The new songs were good, but it killed the flow of the show. Normally they are better at keeping things up beat and moving, this show felt disjointed and extremely slow at times.

A few notes: 19 songs played, compared to 26 songs played here last year (including the acoustic set, on a day when the band arrived and went on late). The band sounded great but the setlists are more repetitive this year (70 total songs played on this tour now, but only 53 played more than once). No real setlist treats (for folks who have seen crush and ddtw so often the last few years). I think Rooftop was a highlight, and that about says it best. Looking forward to Camden where they have given some of their best shows the last few years, ...

Great start to show, clearly cut seek up shorter than previous show so they hopefully wouldn\'t have to cut any songs. Then it started to rain and storm out of nowhere. The band played DDTW and crowd got way more energized all way through gravedigger. Then setlist just went downhill. With the new songs and really disappointing encore with Watchtower and why I am. This was my 25th show and I have seen watchtower 75% of the time in encore or closer. No new tour debuts. The band has 1000000 songs from which they can play and if this is there going away tour/25 anniversary tour they should be really mixing it up with songs they need to bring back from the dead. If it didn\'t rain the energy at the show would have been much worse and I have yet to see original setlist but if DDTW wasn\'t planned that is great that they switched it up. They should have fed off the energy of the crowd and not slowed down entire set after gravedigger.

Fun tailgate with Phil, Mark and fiancé, brendan, Meredith, and many other friends. Ferry people and Derek and Erin as well. Rebecca and George's first show. Rained during Grey Street, that was awesome! Hoped for better encore selection but all in all it was a solid show. They never disappoint

Great Show. Great Energy. Band was on fire. Rain helped clear out anyone who didn't really want to be there (which wasn't that many people). Fire.
