Don\'t get me wrong, 2016 seems to not be the best year for Dave but let night\'s performance had zero flow. Just when I though the run of Crush, Sugar Will, and Granny would bring the energy to an otherwise slow start, Mercy came and killed all the energy - can anyone say pee break? Warehouse and Jimi were a nice but predictable ending though, it was too late to salvage the show. A late start and one song encore cemented a poor night. Better step it up in Hartford, Dave.

This show was my first, and it was amazing to see them in person after being a fan since I was 4, but the more and more I mull it over, we got a a set with some good songs on it, for example granny is one of my favorites and I lost my sh*t when they played it, I wanted to see Bismarck and I got it, DDTW was pretty kick as with the whole band, Warehouse was very good, cool to see them play the album intro, Say Goodbye fake out had me kinda pissed although GD is still pretty good. Usual fan favorites I.e CITM, WWYS, were good, Crush knocked it out of the ballpark, Jimi was good, and although we kinda got gyped on the encore, TB was still full of energy. But then I look at Hartford in progress, and they are getting a fckin kick as set so far. But that show got me addicted, and now I feel an obligation to go back in 2018 and see if I get a show that blows the walls of the place.

Again overall disappointed. Come out on time so you don\'t need to cut the encore short. There is no originality anymore. I don\'t know if they are just going through the motions or what. But I don\'t know why I\'m spending money to travel around and not see anything unique. Except for shake me, nearly all songs were played the last two nights. Just no originality anymore.

I am the type that I want to see rarities and surprises. I thought this set list was not good at all especially for a 25th anniversary tour. Besides there being no surprises, it was was up and down as far as energy. It seemed like the crowd had good energy, it was just a bad flow of predictable songs. It\'s always good to catch a DMB show, but I guess one of them is bound to end up at the bottom of the barrel. This was it. They seemed to be having a good time, and Dave said all the right things. It just wasn\'t a very inspired set-list. And kind of a kick in the balls for a venue that always brings the energy and really deserved more for it\'s only show this tour w/ a pending hiatus. Bismarck sounded good, best of the new songs. Mercy, meh. Bob Law, blah, blah, blah. Dave should just stay away from the piano! Sugar Will was a treat. They just blew it will the clock management. Started late and ended up with a one song encore as they smacked up against curfew. Ended up leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

Honestly, out of all the shows I've been to, this one was definitely my least favorite. There were good moments such as the One Sweet World opener, Crush, Sugar Will, Granny, Don't Drink the Water, Warehouse, and the new songs. But other than that, the rest of the set was rather uninspired. This is especially disappointing considering how great of a set 2015 got. I was also calling for Shotgun when Dave brought out his Veillette for Squirm.

In my opinion, not as bad as some are saying, but not the greatest show I\'ve seen by far either.
I do really like the 3 new songs...especially BISMARCK and BOB LAW..Bismarck reminds me of early DMB and Bob Law has a touch of funk and a great bass riff. Both are extremely catchy.
SUGAR WILL was my treat of the night!! Haven\'t heard it live in 12 years and I like the new sound plus it\'s a tad shorter which doesn\'t drag down the flow of the set.
Wish the band had come out a lot earlier...clearly a problem with time management tonight. One thing I do love about the Boston crowd is that they cheer for everything!!! I don\'t know if that\'s a good thing or a bad thing, but I\'m sure the band loves it.
CRUSH, GRANNY, WAREHOUSE, DDTW were a few other highlights. Could definitely do without MERCY or GRAVEDIGGER. JIMI was nice and fitting with the SEXY MF outro. I really don\'t like Jimi as a closer though and wish the band had come out with ANTS instead of BILLIES...but overall, I had a great time in Boston as usual! Hoping to see the guys again a few more times this summer!

Sugar will!!! Other highlights were WWYS, crush, gravedigger, warehouse, squim and samurai cop. Billies closer would've been cool, but it just reminded me of HallowBillies encore from a few years ago. Jimi thing with guest on sax was cool, even though it's horribly overplayed still. Happy to hear Mercy. OSW opener, as much as it's overplayed as an opener, is still a great opener nonetheless.
I read through the prior reviews and they are not pretty. While I get that there were not any rarities really, I look at each show in and of itself. I liked the show. Dave was having fun.
People are complaining about the band starting late??? Ive been to 60 DMB shows since '99 and don't ever remember a time (minus two sets the last two years) where the band came out prior to 8:25pm (which is what time they came out last night). It's nothing new. Most venues have an 11pm curfew.
DMB keeps their ticket prices low (compare to other acts in line with DMB's tour grossing such as U2, Rolling Stones) so be happy. There's never going to be a setlist to please every die hard fan. It's just impossible and with as big of a catalogue as DMB has, the fact that Dave does (at least the last several years) sit down and compare set lists from the previous years at the venue. My take on this practice is that he hoping to give people that attend their home venue a varied setlist each year (this is what I’m assuming his goal is by comparing the past few years setlists at the particular venue.) This is in contrast to Dave's former "Im going to play whatever the f*** I wan't no matter what" disposition during the 2000's, These days he at least says many times "I hope we get it right for y'all tonight."
With the band's what, 9 albums under their belt? They seemingly try to incorporate material from each, every show. Gotta give the boys some credit. It has been 25 years...
Maybe I’m just a “glass half full” type or I just don’t dig negativity. I dunno, I guess I just can’t justify complaining about getting to see my favorite band live, still, after 25 years of pretty aggressive touring….
When I was in college, I would hit 6 shows a summer. Now, I may go to one or two. I get there are people who follow the band on tour and hit multiple successive shows. I don’t think Dave writes his setlists for those people. Like I said above, my take on his setlist writing procedure is to incorporate material from all throughout their career each show, while still trying to vary the setlists enough to keep the material fresh, fun, captivating and interesting for both the band and fans alike. It’s a tough task. That’s a lot of pressure. Dave isn’t going to sweat the small stuff, as in, he cant spend hours slaving over the setlist each night, scrapping and starting over with trial and error. We should consider ourselves lucky that he continues to spend the time looking over the past setlists at all… I think this shows wisdom in age.
It seems Dave's attitude and approach to giving the fans the songs they want has drastically changed. If there is any evidence in his "davespeak", especially at Dave and Tim shows, he has never been impressed by the overzealous fans SCREAMING song requests at him. He describes it as violent in a way... That shows his perception, but that was also about a decade ago (the davespeak from D&T shows that I'm referencing)
He pens what he thinks is the best fit for the venue, with regard to whether it’s a multiple night stand or not. We are no longer fortunate enough to afford ourselves a two-show stop in Mansfield anymore. Let’s face it, those days are over and that has a huge impact.
Also, I think it’s very important to remain cognizant of the fact that the band’s perception vs. the fans perception of a show and a setlist can be very different….
Just my $0.02...
Take what you want and leave the rest...
Yours truly,
- The modern day 30 something loyal DMB fan.

This was a good Friday night show, and although I knew all of the setlist whiners would be having a ball with having both shake me and jimi in the show, I know I had a great time and so did lots of people. Very few people left my section before the encore. Often Friday shows seem a little uneven but when you go back and look at the list you realize there were many great tunes. I love ALL the new songs, loved Tim\\\\\\\'s solo on Sugar Will, the Jimi horns rocked, and the energy kept me dancing all night.
Please people, stop bashing the band for perceived setlist crimes. People who have better things to do than to actually go to the show still have time to go on the Mansfield board and bash the setlist? Give those of us who love every minute of this band a break please.

This show left me thinking that maybe the band actually NEEDS to take next year off. The set list had ZERO flow to it. Every time they played a song that got the crowd into it, they would follow it up with a Mercy, Bob Law, or Seven and that would end the good vibe. No originality (its been like that for a few years now). Coming out late when the venue has a hard 11pm curfew is a big slap in the face of the fans that paid good money to see you...Also, Jeff is completely useless...

Band sounded great! Had great energy and seemed like they really wanted to be on stage...however...the setlist was uninspired and a one song encore is extremely disappointing. Start ten minutes earlier (first note was about 8:25) or pay more attention to time during the show..but the crowd deserves at least a two song encore.
