Lovely Ladies = The Worst Decision Ever

Don't often consider recent shows in my all time favorites list, but last night has to be in there for sure. What an amazing 2 sets. Setlist was killer! The band sounded amazing. This was also my first time seeing the lovey ladies in almost 13 years to the day (6/11/01 was the last time I saw them!).
Show highlights:
Pay for What You Get completes UTTAD for me! Say Goodbye->DIDO was awesome. And Stay was easily the best version I have ever hear.
This was the first show in probably the last 5 years that made me want to see more shows this tour. Amazing night!
Oh, and we saw the band leaving in their buses up close as we were leaving! Really cool way to top off the night!

Solid show...Loved seeing the Lovely Ladies!! Rooftop is a solid jam, and Stolen Away worked so well acoustically. Two Step Acoustic closer was a nice treat, and I can't get enough Minarets!!

Great Save Me with the lovely ladies. Rapunzel was my highlight. A lot of downtime/lost crowd interest in the middle of the acoustic set with PFWYG, snow outside,stolen away....and in the middle of the electric set with seven/rooftop.

The hardest part about this concert for me was that after the jam in Lie in, he didn't come back and sing the chorus again. I will never forget that. It totally ruined the show for me! I always want him so badly to come back and start singing the chorus again but this time he didn't and it really killed me!

Everyone has there own perfect set, this wasnt mine but pretty close, Pig crush liog Say goodbye save me (lovely ladies) being a long time dave fan this was great. drive in drive out. if they played 41 it would have probably been the best ive seen.

This show had so much potential. Pay For What You Get, Minarets, Pig, Granny, Crush, Say Goodbye, DIDO, Lie In Our Graves. The only song that was god awful in the first 18 songs was If Only. Pretty incredible to get only one of the worst songs in the band's career out of 18. I was very happy at this point.
Then, the Lovely Ladies were introduced. I told my friend who I went to the show with to get ready for You & Me and Stay. These songs may even be worse than If Only. There was a reason the ladies did not play with the band since 2001. I remember some of the shows back in this timeframe and they were a nightmare. I honestly think the people who actually cheered for them when they were introduced were clapping out of pitty. No true fan could genuinely be excited about the ladies rejoining the band. Most importantly, the band is limited to playing some of their worst songs with them singing along. There will be no Last Stop or Stone with the ladies on the stage.
Ending the show with the Ladies, Space Between, and overplayed Rapunzel killed what could have been a 5 star show.

Let's talk about the Lovely Ladies. The people who are giving this show one star because of the ladies are insane. I don't love the ladies-- but they're essentially harmless. They had a positive effect on "Save Me," a negative effect on "You & Me," and I didn't feel they changed "Stay" at all-- and all three of those songs are fine songs for the end of the set.
The first five songs of the electric set were killer, and the band stayed strong all night. Three ladies singing relatively well for three songs at the end of a two hour set isn't ruining the shows. The shows a strong 4 of 5... and I'm only taking the point away because it was a pretty standard acoustic set.

We were blessed with gorgeous weather from ~ 3-11 PM (great sunset, totally unexpected). Band started pretty late but played until after 11, which was a nice surprise as well. Setlist felt like a highlight of the SPAC shows - way better than the show at PNC last year (the audience also seemed to be better).
Song selection was solid for the most part, although Seven & If Only got thrown in at a bad spots (wish those 2 weren't in the set). I think the only way to justify NO reprise to LIOG... is to surprise us by having the Lovely Ladies return after all these years (I missed last call just to hear all of LIOG - totally worth it!). Contrary to some opinions here, the crowd went nuts for the Ladies and I did as well. In 2000-01 there was a magic with LeRoi/Carter plus Butch and the Ladies, and for the most part that's been gone since July 08. Save Me was kinda weak (wish we got LBV!), but their other songs were great. I think if the encore was different, this could have been a 4.5-5 show (it was after 11, though).

Ray and Dillon in Citi hooked us up and made the night even more fun.

Hate the Lovely Ladies. Seeing those three extra microphones on the stage even before the band came out was like a dark cloud hanging over everyone's mood. I left the show with a horrible taste in my mouth, after a pretty incredible 18 song run to start the show. The thought that they will be playing more shows in the future is depressing.

The show was amazing. Then the Lovely Ladies came out. Completely ruined everything. After that amazing acoustic set and great main set, the mood was killed as soon as those three talent-less women walked out on the stage. You and Me into miserable Stay was the worst thing any true fan could hope for. Cannot believe DMB thinks bringing them back after 13 wonderful years without them ruining a show was a good idea.

What an amazing setlist!! Acoustics weren't great at PNC, mix wasn't great either, but the performance was terrific! ARE YOU HATERS SAYING THAT "STAY' DOESN'T SOUND GOOD WITH THE LOVELY LADIES??? REALLY? That's nuts. Some of you said they were talentless. Clearly you have NO knowledge of music. They are so good they get hired by Steely Dan, Pink Floyd and many other big artists. But they have no talent...
The place went nuts when they came on, so it's just a handful of negative folks bitching here.
Setlist top to bottom was nearly perfect.

Excellent show. Crowd was fantastic and everyone was having a great time. Lots of dancing. Lots of singing. Lots of shaking those asses. I think it's been one of the best of 2014 so far.

Ants opener - Minarets - WWYS - Two Step - Pig - Granny - Grey Street - Crush - Say Goodbye - DIDO - Space Between- Tons of great energy from the band and crowd. One of the best shows I've ever been too. And IDK who was whining about the Lovely Ladies but from my view everyone loved them! I thought they were great.
