the band played great. interesting choices for the set, im glad they chose to play so much from AFTW. would've been cool if they played Broken Things Belly Full and Drunken Soldier to make it the full album. but the flow of the set wasn't too hot on this one. while the songs they played were executed well, the placement of them should've been reconsidered.stand out songs of the night would be Grey Street, Jimi Thing, Raven and The Space Between which, honestly, was very moving.. also, Dave mentioned that Lillywhite and Ballard were both in the house and he mentioned that he still gets nervous when performing at the Bowl.

One of the best Dreaming Trees I have seen (I've seen at least 4). Stanely Jordan tore it apart. Raven was a nice surprise too. Other than that, the show was kind of a repeat of Irvine.

Implusive show after an amazing 2 nights in San Diego and Irvine. Got a lot of AFTW songs

I enjoyed most of the new stuff, plus Jimi Thing and a couple other classics thrown in the mix. However, I think a show with a lot of tracks from Away makes for a really mellow show (and not enough singing and dancing from the crowd). I would have enjoyed more up-tempo stuff from Crash and Big Whiskey and other earlier stuff to balance out the Away tracks. It was close. . . but for me missed it by about 4 or 5 on the set list.

Very odd set list. It just had no flow and the songs they surrounded the 8 AFTW songs were just bad choices. Whatever happened to Nancies or Wharehouse? Too Much or Tripping Billies? LA doesn't know Eh Hee! I knew it was going to be a long night as soon as I realized they were opening with Seven. I think the time has come to only attend one show a year.

A lot of Away from the world and an extended Raven with Stanley Jordan. Awesome show, a powerful closer with watchtower and a thrilling Time bomb two step encore

The band was fine, and the new songs were great, but it was the worst crowd ever! Another hard lesson that LA crowds have no manners and a short attention span. Who would of thought that people in the boxes, which were almost exclusively Warehouse seats, could be so noisy and so rude. Props once again to Stanley Jordan. He made Dreaming Tree shine despite the crowd.

Worst crowd I've ever seen at a DMB show - when people yell at you for standing at a concert that's when I just shake my head in frustration. Set list was very uneven. Only DMB show I haven't loved.

I am not sure where to begin. I had great seats which was nice. The show was on the slow side. Boyd was non existent. I have have been to 63 shows and this might be the worst I have ever seen. I love the new songs but whats in between was not good at all. For the last show of the summer tour? Come on. Go back and look at setlists from Alpine. Maybe I am just jaded and have come to expect more from this band. Oh well, see you next year.

Great show, a notch above Shoreline. Highlights - If Only, Sweet, Dreaming Tree, Space Between (solo), & h20 -> wine. Surprisingly the 20 min Two step was awesome as opposed to drawn out.

Just not sure dmb is for me anymore. Show 37 and the band i fell in love with in the mid 90's is gone. Is boyd still in the band? They can still jam (jimi, dreaming tree, two step were standard but really good) when they want to but they clearly don't want to any more. The first hour of this show was a bore. Luckily my buddy stubbed me down to the 6th row or else this show would be a 1. No life at the bowl. People were more interested in their wine and cheese than paying attention and getting into the band. Place wasn't even sold out.
I understand a band needs to evolve but they've completely gotten away from what made them great back in the day and have become a vanilla 4 min a song band with limited improvisation. Pretty sad that i called all 3 encore songs... C'mon guys... You're better than this. They should take a lesson from Phish who might be at their peak after all these years. Dmb has such an incredible catalog of songs and they continue to repeat songs night after night. I dont get it. On my way out, i saw seacrest leaving from backstage. I think that says a lot. Seacrest out

After a 6 year hiatus we decided to fly out from NC. We had a great time at the Bowl! We were in sec F, just above the boxes and from where I was the crowd was into it most of the night and danced under a beautiful Cali night sky. There were the few songs kind of early on that mellowed things out a bit. I just figured that is how y\'all liked it out there. :) It was not long though and everyone was up and dancing again. It was great hearing the extended versions of so many songs, along with many from the new release. Stanley Jordan was awesome when he joined for Raven and Dreaming Tree, which I thought was incredible. And then All Along The Watchtower, WOW, it was feeling somewhat like old times again! After almost 3 hours, Time Bomb, then the nearly 20 minute version of Two Step to close the show, certainly reminded me why I would travel across the country to renew my love with DMB! It is DMB live folks, yeah, it got a little mellow in the middle, so what! Maybe it is because I have not attended in a while is why I am feeling like some people sound a little whiny? : ) Overall, awesome experience IMO and we loved the venue. If you have ever thought about traveling to check it out, it is definitely worth it. We will be back for the next DMB show at the Bowl. There are several hotels within a 1/4 mile making for an easy and quick walk to the venue. DMB thanks! Cannot wait to catch a couple more upcoming Winter Tour shows. It is SO great to be back, I have missed seeing DMB live!

It was a good show, BUT...
(1) for a late add on
(2) for an album release show
(3) for a hollywood bowl show
I think we ALL expecting something a little epic.. something a little special.. something a little different than what we saw during the summer tour but this was basically the exact same show as Irvine the previous Saturday

Great Show. Great oldies mixed in with all the new music. Raven and Dreaming Tree with Stanley Jordan were mind blowing. Belly Belly Nice, If only, Rooftop, and Snow Outside are fantastic live, BBN especially.
Space Between, TimeBomb->Two Step encore was more than could be hoped for with Shake Me, Crash into Me and Ants still missing. Not too mention the Two Step was of very High Quality.
Overall Great Experience! I say 5/5

Decided to go to all 4 calif shows, only saw them once last year at the Gorge for one show during the Caravan tour. Also wanted to see three nights in a row hoping it would be like a weekend at the Gorge with none or very few repeats. Boy was I wrong about that. Don\'t get me wrong, 40th show since 01, love going to see DMB but it seems by the time they get Dhere at the end of most tours the set list seems to not vary to much, although very happy to hear some old favs like Seek Up, Dreaming Tree, LIOG. Raven, Crush, Ants, Billies, YNK, Rhyme & Reason & killer Two Step. Was hoping to hear Warehouse, Nancies, Granny, DIDO, Pig, Proudest Monkey, Song That Jane Likes, 41, 40, Say Goodbye, songs all played earlier during the tour, would prefer Dave to play with the band or Tim to open the encore instead of the same two or three solo tunes, really enjoyed the new songs and the band sounded tight and energetic. Don\'t need to hear Spacebread, Eh Hee, Seven, OOMH & Everyday for a long time, especially Seven to open a show, next tour one calif show, maybe time to do all weekend at the Gorge, give all 4 shows combined 31/2 stars, Verizon being the best set list. Also would love them to play Last Stop again especially at the last stop of the tour. My third time to see them on the last show of the tour, only heard it once at Shoreline, Grace is Gone would have been treat as well

Crazy rush to get tix via StubHub, price be damned! Met B&W, and made best effort at a tailgate. 1st time to HB, and wow, what a neat venue! Sound was great, though Dave appeared a little nervous?? Fun show, but the OC crowd was replicated--too many people there to socialize . . . still had fun

To all the "fans" who whine and complain about the set list every show. Do us all a favor and stay home. DMB has been creating magic for over 20 years and we should all be grateful that they continue to travel town to town to share their love for music. Let the man play what he wants. I have only been to 9 shows of DMB and each of them have swept me off my feet. They could go out there and play 3 hours of children sing alongs and I would still be getting down like a Sexy MFer. It was a beautiful night in the bowl and the band delivered as usual, even tho disrespectful crowd gave them no energy to feed off of, they didnt miss a beat and never do. Heres to 20 more years! I will be seeing you guys jam again soon!!

The average person at the show last night could have cared less what song DMB was playing, all they wanted to hear was music. I loved the show, I thought it was a strong performance for their album release party. This was the first time I have truly sat back and really watched the show. Despite some of the setlist choices, the band can still BRING it for older guys. Can't believe you thought "Dave lacked energy," he wasn't "whaling" but he was defiantly singing with whatever oxygen he wasn't expending already.
You can't expect the rest of the band to shine during solos when there really wasn't that many jammed songs other than Jimi, Dreaming Tree, and Two Step.
I am sorry though, I do have the say this wasn't one of Stanley Jordan's best nights. I have NO IDEA what he was doing during Dreaming Tree. It totally took away from the song, especially during the outro of the jam.
The "sound" throughout the show was spotty, I couldn't tell if it was technical issues, the mix of the bowl or a condensed cool front moving in.
All in all I still enjoy every show!!!

Second half was pretty good but the flow of the show was absolutely terrible. I'm just at a loss for words. Can Dave really not come up with a better setlist? Seven as an opener is about the biggest slap in the face you could get. When four 60 year old women complain that there were too many slow songs it's time to reevaluate things. The overall experience was great. Loved when they jammed. However, the horrendous pacing of the show along with the majority of below average songs sans new material in the first 2/3rds of the show makes this one of the most boring I've seen.

Dave is never a bad show, but this was the most mellow show I have seen from them, and the setlist was was missing a lot of the big real fan faves. It's also the most obviously spread out to catch the entire catalog of work and felt like they just wanted to get one song from each album in between the new stuff. Dreaming Tree and acoustic Space Between were both a nice change to hear.

The best chill show I have ever heard, and the Hollywood Bowl sucks to see Dave at. This makes it to #10 of all time best shows of the over 40 I have seen. "Jimi thing" had the best finish ever, "Sweet" had a great solo with the band joining in the secound half, Stephen did an awesome "America the beautiful" into "Watchtower" then they made my year with "Raven" and the best "Dreaming Tree" to date. To end it all they gave us 3 song Encore with a "Two step" finish. Nothing special ending with "Two Step" but the whole band WENT OFF. Charter blew it away and I am still debating if that is the best "Two Step" I have ever heard.

I thought this was supposed to be a special show for the album release. Why would you not play the whole new album, especially Drunken Soldier. Set list was far too similar to previous nights. The set lists have become far too predictable the last few years. The poster for the night had nothing special reflecting the special event that was billed. The crowd was just not into a majority of the show. Would have been nice to end the tour with a few special guests. It just didn't feel special which is what we all expected out of this show.
