Really digging the new songs... Very solid show. The crowd was terrible (which I have come to expect at riverbend) and it was super weak how quIckly they wrapped up the encore to avoid breaking curfew, but over all in the better half of the shows I have seen.

Great energy from the crowd. Opening run of the set was phenomenal. Loved the new tunes plus the R&R debut. Interested to hear more of the little jam before While I Am.

Good little show for Riverbend. Sweet I thought was the best of the new songs but only when the whole band was involved. Weird though to start a show with a song most no one knows about. Mercy was just ok... the end jam could evolve more and Gaucho was pretty spot on. Just a small gripe about 4 Big Whiskey songs but 3 of those I really enjoyed (not much of a Squirm fan). Cant really complain too much about a set with Billies, 41, AATW, and Two Step.

I really enjoyed this show. Sweet works fine as an opener when followed up by a wonderful song like YNK. Always good to see Rhyme and Granny as well. Mercy sounded great. Nice show to kick off my summer of shows!

Amazing show. YNK was amazing. A lot of BW, but Dave seems to have so much fun playing Seven. Great song. Off the chain show. Not to mention Dave looks great in plaid.

5th show. First at Riverbend. Sweet opener was really good. YOU NEVER KNOW, Rhyme & Reason, Granny, #41, Jimi Thing, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY, Two Step were all incredible! The band was on tonight! Especially Boyd and Carter on Two Step. I only have two complaints about this show: 1) I could barely hear Whiter Shade of Pale because of the idiots around me yelling, 2) They didn't play Don't Drink the Water in the encore like they'd planned. Otherwise this show was fantastic.

Great show. It definitely felt like the encore was rushed but that was mainly because of the solid set with plenty of jam time.

Epic: best show I have seen in such a long time - you chase the venues but sometimes the best ones are in your back yard. The shows have been tight for a little while really since BW - but this was free flowing and a welcome change.

Well-played set, but was lacking in energy for the better part of the first half... 3/5 songs to open were 'slow' and the band kept taking breaks between each song throughout the night (would've preferred a few segues to build some momentum). It seemed as if the band was tired or something... with the exception of Boyd, who was on fire and all over the place! Nice to see him come alive.

The new songs were pleasant and sounded nice, but all were toned down a bit which made it hard to get into themů The show closed solidly; from Jimi Thing on it was a different vibe. Two Step and Carter's solo were the highlights of the night for me.

Again, the sound was great and there were some nice moments, but overall it was a bit disappointing, and it's the first time I've felt that way after a DMB show. Maybe my expectations were too high after a two-year break from seeing them. That said, looking forward to redemption at Deer Creek!

I drove to Cincy from Indy after spending 4 days in the woods of Chillicothe, IL attending SummerCamp (UMPHREYS! MUST SEE NEXT YEAR shameless plug. UMPHREYS!) so I feel as though I went through a time warp when it comes to discussing crowd vibes. The psychodelic infused SCamp raged on show after show with everyone craving bass, bass, bass. Dave's crowd is there to sing along and hang on every note, which is why I LoVE the mix of people. I took with me a DMB vet of over 60 shows, but he hadn't seen one since 2005. I had been lucky enough to score a pit ticket via the Warehouse but he had to score a lawn ticket. So as we entered the lawn I spotted several legit GD fans and decided that was where the positive energy would come for me. They had their little kids with them, two smoking hot tan chicks in hippie get-ups standing to the left and we had a great view of the stage, just right of the right main obstruction 50 feet from the beginning of the Pav.

Here is where I "complain". I was diggin, truly diggin every song. Dancing so hard I had to rest every other 20 mins. YMDT is one of my favs and yes I kept it 100% real. So when you get down to your fav song people are look and point and mock. So what, they cant see me, they dont feel the chords the way Im feeling them. So i had 2 dudes turn around and start taking pictures of me. Well the two chicks caught right on and turned around and started groovin' hard right along with me. Before you knew it I had everybody dancing except the 2 dueches who had long been forgotten. Somebody bought me a beer, lit up a joint and passed it around, cause they knew what was up. My crowd here was so great, complete strangers yet everyone loved everyone.

Then I decided after Whiter Shade is was time for me to move down to the PIT. SO here I am, waited for this PIT ticket for MONTHS, drove for HOURS, dragged my buddy and sat with him for an hour and now FINALLY i make it down to the PIT.

Me - "I can't believe this is happening... Talk about a dream come true..." then I pull my phone out and start to take a video of the Mercy intro. Two Frat-Tastic dudes in polos behind me begin to mock me... again...

Guy1 - "He's WAY too excited to be here... look how sweaty he is... HAHA"

Me - turns around "This is my band dude, and this is the closest i've even been in 14 shows, how could I not be excited"?

Guy2 - "Just turn around man, nobody cares about you"

At this point, had I been anywhere but the PIT, I would have defended my, and respectable fans' everywhere, honor.

My gut sank, this guys was seriously being negative???

IN THE PIT OF A DAVE SHOW, SOME GUY IS TELLING ME ITS NOT THAT COOL, RELAX BUDDY.....

WTF ever man.

So i made the best decision I've made all night, moved 10 feet to the left, dead center about 5 rows back and there I realined with TRUE DAVE FANS!!!!!

Soon as I found my good spot, Dave torn into Billies and the rest is history.

In conclusion: all concert crowds are going to be different, thats why we like them. Some Dave fans wanna listen in total focus mode as if it was a private show. Im glad im a true fan and nothing guy1 or guy2 said is going to allow me to believe Dave's crowd is full of assholes despite obvious evidence. Some fans (myself included) wanna sing and dance and LoVE all night long on nothing but whiskey and weed. If my kind of fan gets on your nerves, take a lesson from me/him/her: ligheten the fuck up. Why come to a show if you are just going to stand there and look pretty. Nothing (not even getting mocked twice in one night) can keep me/him/her/TrueFan from masking the LoVE and positivity that flows thoughout the body when those boys are on stage having fun like they were on Tuesday. People are hit and miss, find a good group, get to know them, get down with them. LoVE LoVE LoVE everybody.

~PhilthyG~
I'll be the one in the Deer Creek lawn lit up like a human glowstick, singing every word with my Indy DMB family. Camping at Dead Creek: follow me @PhilthyG on Twitter. LoVE - Positive vibes.

You never know! Ymdt, tripping billies! 41, granny, rhyme and reason!!! Holy hell what a sick set. Cant wait for Cleveland! So much better than Gulf Shores! Seems to me the band is actually listening to the fan feedback. Last nights show was the best Ive seen in a long time, so glad they're scaling back big whiskey.

Started a little slow...not sure that Sweet is a good opener. I liked Mercy..but seems the band holds back...it could be more than it is. Two Step was awesome. Took the crowd awhile to get into the set. Nice solo on the cover. Overall...above average show. Band got more into it as the set progressed. For me..it was a nice start since it was my first concert for the season, but waiting for the Alpine shows to be in full gear.

Wow! Getting pit ticket from Warehouse was like winning the lottery! Getting it from Will-Call was like dealing with a bad bureaucracy.

Show was amazing. YNK!!! Whiter Shade of Pale, and Billies!! pit exceeded my expectations and I ended up getting a little overserved after the show celebrating. Went with a buddy, both > 50 shows and both 1st time in the pit. It rocked. As others have said, waaaayyy better than Hangout, and about as good as Charlotte. As for Hangout...it was typical festival set and a little short. Cincy show was amazing. Can't wait for Deer Creek!

When I left Gulf Shores I was debating whether to go to this show because I was so underwhelmed then, having to sit through all of Big Whiskey live yet again. Glad I did though. This was a solid show. While the highlights were still #41, Jimi and Two Steps, the rest of the set was so much better last night. Great to hear Granny and Rhyme and Reason. The band had a lot of energy and so did the crowd. It was good to be back!

Best setlist I have seen in many years. I think after reading the other reviews so far, peope are skipping over the Funky Trippin Billies, all the Under the Table songs plus Granny were insane. The lead into Why I am is evolving and Gaucho is my favorite of the new songs by far. I think the show would have gotten more stars if the encore had been more solid!

Halloween-Town delivered! I had very high hopes that this show would be better than the Hangout Festival. I bought a last second lawn seat just to get another show in before Deer Creek and arrived early placing myself on the front of the lawn. Before Carolina Chocolate Drops took to the stage a nice gentleman handed me a free pavilion ticket in row R dead center. I am truly grateful for that because it made the show that much more enjoyable. Thank you sir! You Never Know was the highlight the entire show for me, the performance of that song was one of the best I have ever heard of any song. Other highlights were Gaucho, #41, and that mysterious intro into Why I am. One less Big Whiskey song would have been nice but that minor complaint didn't affect the show in my book. The encore was weak but that is only because I am tired of Watchtower as the final song. Squirm on the other hand is great live and is becoming a song that I love hearing night after night. On a side note Boyd on the classical violin is killer.

No doubt the best show I've been to in my 7 shows. I called Tripping Billies right before they played it, if you have any complaints about this show, just freaking relax and enjoy the music, it was an incredible show. 41 Two Step AAWT Granny Tripping Billies? Get over yourself! That's a great show regardless of what else he plays!
