I went to both nights at hartford and this show(the second night), in my opinion, was ten times better. The band's energy was great the whole night. After the show i talked to some big dave fans who were not impressed with the show and they told me that this show's setlist was more geared for the average college kid going to a dave show who only knows the hits. I COMPLETELY disagree. I'd like to say I'm a pretty intense dave fan and I have been for a while and I just thought this show was great. Boyd really jammed out more than I've seen him do in years. I was losing my mind during his short solo in SWEET UP AND DOWN-which i must say was insanely good. I don't think the crowd was as into it as i was because i'm sure many weren't familiar with the song but it had me going crazy. All in all it was the best dave show I've been to in quite a time.

So good. My weak ass bladder forced me to miss Big Eyed Fish but came in for Bartender. What a great time. Crowd was a good age mix and the people were so friendly. Great vibe before, during and after the show. Crown Royal plaza was great to stay at because it's a close walk. Great weather. Bought a beer on the walk home from a guy with a cooler. That was cool. Lots of energy from the band. Two Step was sick. Thank you, DMB.

What a great show, and what a great weekend @ Hartford. I was begging for some BEF this weekend, and so happy to see it open the show. Bartender great as always. Why I Am still a fan-fav from BW, like last year. SDL kept the energy up. I love LITHOG, but it did slow things down a lot. But that was OK, cause BAM- busted out So Right next. I was never a 'huge' fan of the song, but man was it amazing. Stuck in my head still. Everyday- nice sing along. SUAD was jackpot. It's the best. Jimi, shakin that ass style was great. Crash. Cornbread is overplayed, but still a great song live (imo anyway)... and I know there is haters for Stand Up, but I've always dug the song, and liked that they tack'd it on the end and just hit it quick. Needle was great, but did slow the show down. But then right back into it with DDTW, SMLAM, and Two Step... which (and I know this is said all the time, but...) had the greatest Carter solo in the history of Two Steps. Baby Blue- beautiful. And, Watchtower to close... nothing needs to be said there.
Great shows! They did it RIGHT in Hartford this year! Bring on SPAC!

N2 was amazing. Many people thought N1 set list was better but this was by far my best concert ever!! Mostly because it was closest i ever got. I paid a good penny for pit seats and it was well worth it. was 4 rows back center stage and it was amazing. Really enjoyed 41 with his sexy Mother Fucker lol haha

Fishtender SDL LITHOG So Right Everyday, I thought the crowd jumped in with #36 too soon. SUAD Jimi with sexy MF outro Crash Cornbread SU tease The Needle and The Damage Done DDTW SMLAM Two Step- Excellent start to finish. I enjoyed every moment of this show, finally had to use the ladies room during shake me, no line, went back in and saw that security wasn't checking tickets at the doors to the lower pavillion, walked and loitered along the concourse behind section 200 for two step then back to 400, so much fun

N1 was better, but N2 the band was much tighter. Have to say that the penny whistle Jeff played really brought back the spirit of Leroi...it was quite a moment. Rashawn on Jimi was incredible; it was a night for the horn section that's for sure. Sexy MF, great. Best Two Step I have ever heard with Carter's solo and an extended outro. The crowd was much better than N1 and seemed to know more. Premier Parking is the worst unless you leave early. A so-so Watchtower made it easy to bolt early. All in all, if you put the two nights together, it was a great way to start the summer!

Easily one of my top two shows of all time. The sound and energy in the pit was unreal. In all of the shows I've been to, I don't ever remember the sound being that great. The energy was amazing - towards the back of the pit there was more room to move...

This show was okay. Had it not been for BEF, So Right, and SUAD, my rating would probably be a 2/5. Versions of almost all the other songs (WIA, Crash, Everyday, DDTW, Watchtower, etc.) were very standard. LITHOG and Two Step were the only other highlights.
The energy was generally great, but things definitely fell apart from Jimi Thing through Two Step. I should knock another point off my review just for the return of Stand Up. I couldn't be more horrified to hear that song, especially on the heels of Cornbread.
Overall, a show of ups and downs... I've heard better, and I've heard worse.

Big Eyed Fish - Started with Big Eyed Fish... rocked it pretty hard... sounded exactly like the Busted Stuff album
--> Bartender - Smooth Transition... Jeff rocked some Penny Whistle... nice Wiz of Oz ending
Why I Am - Solid
So Damn Lucky - My first with the extended outro... felt like they did it for a while.. was really good
Lying in the Hands of God - Had a great long extended hardcore Jeff Coffin solo... really enjoyed this (not normally my favorite song on the album... but they did a nice job)
So Right - WELCOME BACK! Crowd loved it, I loved it.
Everyday - Can't really comment, went to go to the bathroom... everyone has their songs... this is mine..
Sweet Up And Down - Wish I could have heard it.. noticed he was using a 12 String from the Monitor from where I was STILL in line waiting to go to the bathroom... bastards to FOREVER. I'll have to download the show to give a true review.
Jimi - No more sing along... his scat was CRAZY. Had a few nice "The Thinker" poses... and Jeff with the two Saxophones.. what a Sexy Mofo ;)
Cornbread - I hate this song now.. I loved it in 2006, I hate it now. It does nothing for me, other than waste time. They executed it fine.. til the end.. when..
(Stand Up) - they had a very rough transition into Stand Up. They did the first verse, the bridge about 4 times through, then Stand Up about 100.. I think because it was so awkward no one really knew what to do. It didn't help Cornbread be better.. Let me put it that way.
The Needle and the Damage Done - Solo Acoustic.. brought the show to a deadening halt. It's bluesy, couldn't understand the words.. but again.. like Rye Whiskey last night... why? You're 13 songs in... this is Jam time...or take it home... not send the band off and play solo acoustic.. just didn't get it.
Don't Drink the Water - Sounded good tonight
Shake Me - Dave messed up the end.. for got to sing the last "Come on pretty baby" and almost missed the end of it.. it worked .. I guess?
Two Step - Carter is the Man. That's all I can say.
E1: Baby Blue - "I always fuck this song up, but I like it, that's why I wrote it.. so I'm going to play it anyway.." Well said Dave. He screwed up the beginning.. realized it.. stopped, started it up again... and it was the most quiet I have ever heard a crowd that big. Huge ovation when it was over.
Watchtower - he had about 5 minutes to spare at the end.. solos were a little short, no Stairway Interpolation... was hoping for a Halloween at the end.. but alas no. Standard Version of Watchtower.
You may be looking at my above comments and wondering why at 3... well, this is one of the few rare... rare... rare instances where Night 1 BLEW NIGHT 2 AWAY. The energy of the crowd was better, IMO the songs were better on N1... and this had almost no flue with the exception of the first 4 songs. Very up and down... and when it was down... it was dragging pretty bad (crash, cornbread, stand up, needle.. and dont drink wasn't going to save the mojo). Wasn't sure how they were going to improve on Night 1.. and they didn't. For some people who like these songs better.. they probably will have a better review. It's not an execution stand point.. though they did have a few mishaps... it's just flow and my preference of DMB songs in the Catalogue. Can't wait for SPAC... PM with questions :)
P.S. - I'm slightly appalled at the lack of BTCS songs the last two nights. 1? 1? Don't Drink the Water?! Are you Kidding me!? Spoon.. Dreaming Tree... Last Stop... Rapunzel... hell I hate it, but Stay!? Com'on Man.

Just got back from Hartford night 2... got to say I am pretty disappointed in the last 2 nights. I was expecting them to brewak out some old favorites not the entire busted stuff albumn. I was expecting songs like Jane, BOWA, LIOF, OSW, Billies, Stone, DIDO, Seek Up, Rapunzel, Last Stop, Recently, Dreaming Tree, Pig, Minerets, Typical, etc... we were given absolutely none of those songs and a lot of newer shit. I think overall last night's show was better than tonight's but tonight had more individual highs than last night.
We started tonight very well with one of my favs in Big Eyed Fish, the problem with that is you know what's coming next and it did. I don;t mind Bartender but there is absolutely no reason to jam it out and prolong it, I could have gone to the bathroom 3 times and still it wouldn;t have ended... at least no didgerrydoo like a few years ago though. Next we get 3 horendous songs followed by another of my favs in So Right. I think this song should make a serious comeback and be played quite a lot, it's very high level, gets people up and moving and isn't 15 mins long for no reason. Everyday was of course good but not overwhelming. Sweet up and Down should have stayed down, there's a reason they don't play it a lot... it stinks. Jimi was good as always but was a tad long for my liking, the outro was very cool though. Crash was OK, but I wish it was crush instead. Cornbread is a catchy tune that I like and was good tonight. No need for Stand Up ever because it stinks. The new cover song put people to sleep. Don't drink was high energy tonight as always and was nice to hear. Shake me like a monkey wasn't good last night so it certainly wasn;t good tonight either. The obvious highlight of the night was the absolutly intense, insane and ridiculous Two Step. Carter's solo towards the end was out of this world, someone said he's an octopus because he has too many arms to play that well. Without this, tonight's show would have been a big failure. The encore came and the Dave solo song was boring and not good and then Watchtower which was great.
Overall I am disappointed in the 2 nights here and wish they would bring back real good songs, like ones written and recorded in the 90's, not the "stuff" they broke out this weekend.
