Seen em a zillion times sine 96 and have only be dissapointed once and it wasnt last night(Darien Lake early 2000's). That being said I dont think it was a great show, energy was great and seeing the boys play the new stuff was great.
I know that a new album means a ton of repeat performances throughout the tour. However, if you go back and look at the 5-6 slots a night that could feasibly be for older fav's: There almost the same all the way through the tour.
I really liked "Why I Am" and it was a solid version of "Dont Drink the Water". But dont think switiching it to 3rd in setlist worked, usually proudest monkey and satelitte are 2 and 3 (not 1 and 2)for a reason.
Hope, I dont sound too cynical but having been obsessed with this band since I was 14 years old, its just not easy to adjust to the fact the origonal DMB was lost with Leroi. Hopefully they will continue and create something different but equal. Just think an album of 4min radio singles, is not what got this band such a big following. Again sorry for being a bummer.

Not one of my favorite shows but still great. This was my 1st time at this venue. I enjoyed the lighting in the pavilion but it lacked video screens. That would have helped the enjoyment a little more.

Remains to be one of the best shows I've been to! Was my first experience on the lawn at Toyota Pavilion, and I'll never go back to the seats!!! Met some amazing people, ran into friends I didn't even know were seeing the show and just had a blast jamming all night long!

Show #38 brings me to Montage for the first time. Nice venue - laid back security and few drunk teenagers. The crowd was good - appreciated the oldies and knew the words to most everything. People were even singing to Squirm and the surprise Raven.
Robert Randolph guested on a very solid version of Rhyme & Reason, and his solo was light years ahead of the same solo from 5/29 Darien Lake. They've started to break from the new songs a bit (8/5 Bethel was nearly EVERY song), starting with Monkey->Satellite and Don't Drink the Water. Nice Stay or Leave appearance. All that said, the highlight of the night was the Jimi jam, with Rashawn in a trill-off with Jeff (who broke out his two sax simultaneous magic).
The energy was great between the crown and Dave. He constantly fooled with the fans up front and danced more fervently than I've seen in a couple years, in many songs.
On the other side, it was a bit of a bummer to hear a Watchtower that didn't utilize the powers of Robert Randolph... felt like a wasted opportunity. Also, there wasn't a 'moment' or legendary song to make the show exceptionally memorable.
Nonetheless, it was a really good show, and I'm definitely coming back to Montage Mountain.

All around fun show...the band was tight as usual...Dave seemed to be in a great mood and full of energy as he was a dancing fool on stage. Great Watchtower for the close. Carter spent about 10 Minutes (longer than I've seen before)out on stage after the show throwing drum sticks, which was cool, but the coolest part about it was that he was trying to get one to a little kid...probly 5 years old or so...and kept missing. Finally he had security bring the kid over and he pulled him up on stage and put him on his shoulders. The kid immediately raised his hands over his head cheering in a huge moment of glory and the crowd went nuts for him...it was really a neat moment. Truly a class act by Carter, which is no suprise as he is obviously a great dude.

I've only been to a couple of DMB concerts and even I know that this was bizarro-world setlist. A little disappointed in the length of the show, especially the encore, but I'll take a shorter concert for as diverse a set of songs that this was. In terms of venue, this was great. Got there at 3:30 and had a great tailgating time. Sure, the traffic getting down is terrible, but who cares...just crack open the cooler and do some more grillin while you wait for the cars to clear.
This show had a lot of potential, by the time they broke out Dancing Nancies & Granny the crowd was nuts, they just didn't push it over the top like when I went to SPAC last year. Even something as simple as a surprise post-Watchtower Two-Step encore would have gotten 5 stars. One last note, you can tell Dave really likes the venue ("Ima here in this big tent!"), and between that, the crowd, the tailgate, and the unique setlist, you can guarantee Montage is near the top of my venues list for next year.

First, I'm not sure we were all at the same show. This was my second and last Scranton show. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
Similar set list to Camden N2 minus the highlights and less of a flow. Crowd SUCKED, parking SUCKED and 1 1/2 hours to get out of the parking lot!! Are you kidding me?!!
That said, there were some highlights and they were solely due to the band and my ability to isolate the show itself from the venue and the crowd. I love the Stefan Stairway solo intro to Watchtower and the interpolation later in the song. Also, I heard Granny at all 3 shows it was played at this year, which leads me to believe Dave was playing at my request. It's the only logical explanation. :) Raven- enough said. And tonight was Boyd's night.
Still, overall the worst DMB show I've been to in 12 years.

The band sounded incredibly tight and well rehearsed. The smaller venue provided a sense of intimacy not seen at other shows from earlier this year i.e.--Hershey & East Rutherford. The band was spot on without ever missing a note, chord, fill, beat or off-beat. They are without a doubt the best live act out there and they truly display their expertise at every show. The crowd was into every song whether new or old and gave the soloists incredible pops at their respectful times. Highlights of the show were a full band version of Stay or Leave, Dancing Nancies, Funny the Way It Is (which was incredibly powerful and moving), Why I Am and of course Robert Randolph guesting with the band on Rhyme & Reason. This was my fourth show of the summer and a fitting one to close out my season.
While as tight as the band was they almost knew how to bring the crowd to its feet at every moment but the band would instantly kill any and all momentum by launching into their "quieter" songs. Squirm just about took the life out of the shed only to be worsened by the immense lull followed by Dave bringing the small red guitar out to open the encore with Baby Blue. Great song but poorly placed. Out of the four shows I went to this spring/summer (4/15, 6/13, 7/24 and 9/23) every show closed with Watchtower though. SPAC night 2 being the only exception as the band apparently heeded the crowd chants of Halloween and launched into an impromptu version of the dark classic.
Last nights Watchtower though was by far the single greatest version I have ever seen the band perform. They have clearly perfected their Stairway to Heaven interploation towards the last choruses of Watchtower. Dave sang the final verse of Stairway with such power and emotion that even thinking about still gives me chills.
While the band was spot on and tighter than ever the set list just sucked. Cornbread was a nice surprise but just a few of the songs do not to be played so heavily on this "Let's sell Big Whiskey to the same million people who have already purchased the record Summer 2009 tour." Already looking and forward to and eagerly anticipating next year's tour dates so hopefully the number of Big Whiskey songs will diminish a little.

The show was basically "the best of Camden 2009" (without BOWA of course). It was a very good show, high energy, but they should have closed with Billies not Watchtower. Still a great show though.

Good venue, lax security. Basicly let anyone in for the encore. Great set list. While Antsmarching doesn't show it I thought there was a don't drink the water tease before Proudest Monkey started and then they came back and did Don't drink the water. The only reason I gave it four stars was because while the set was awesome, it was very similar to the two nights in Camdon that I just saw.

This is the second show that I have at Scranton and once again the band brought the energy tonight. Really great show tonight, however, there was nothing particular special or different than anything else of the tour besides Robert Randolf playing Rhyme and Reason with the band. I am very glad I got to hear Raven for the first time and it was even better hearing Granny one of my favorites. Like usual each of the band members played exceptionally well especially Boyd during that crazy Dancing Nancies Solo that must have lasted over five minutes. Also I feel I must note that even though I have seen Tim and Jeff play with the band numerous times I can’t say enough how well they mesh with the band. Listening to Jeff and Tim shred those solo, not to mention Jeff playing two saxes at once during Jimi Thing is always worth going to see. Jimi thing was great as it has been all tour and there is nothing better than a Watchtower closer.

First let me start of by complaining about the parking lots being so far away from the venue and on some rocky, dirt road that's as steep as can be ! Ok...no onto the show... started of SLOW and lackluster I felt like it really began at DDTW... from there it was better and better... Stairway to heave? REALLY? AWESOME... overall it was a nice show...not as good as night 2 at Camden, but a good solid show for Dave and the Boys! THANKS !!!!
