It was a great show. The setlist was great and the energy was amazing. It was such a great change from last years tour. Everybody could just tell something wasn't right last year. It's so sad that the death of a band member sparked these guys back up, but this was one of the best show's I've been to in a long time and starting with Don't Drink The Water was awesome!

Unbelievable energy. Great setlist. Setlist was the closest I've seen in 36 shows to what it was like seeing them at the Georgia Theater in '94. That being said, I will never set foot in this shit-hole of a venue ever again. The worst, by far, I've ever been to. Overcrowded. Tiny restrooms; 3-4 song wait for men; 4-5 song wait for women. Brutal. If you have to waste your time going to this rediculous venue, take my advice, smoke weed, don't drink beer, because, first of all this is the most expensive venue I've been too, but more importantly, it takes to long to piss. And, by the way, why do people throw drinks at concerts? I'm 38 and I've been going to shows for 20 years, and I can honestly say that even when I was young I've never found it necessary to throw a drink....for any reason, nor have I seen it happen, save for maybe a couple of times, and I've been to lots of other venues in lots of other states. I saw about a dozen drinks, in my section alone, get launched for no apparent reason. One unfortunately hit my wife and the girl next to her. What the FUCK is wrong with you fucking people? Is is a Chicago thing? Are you collectively not mature enough to just go to a concert and have a good time. You fucking idiots give Dave fans a bad name, man.
Too bad the venue sucks so bad because Dave and the boys were nuclear.

I've been a fan for a long time, but this was actually my first live show.
The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the speakers at Tinley Park really aren't that good, especially when you get all the way out to the lawn area where I was. Obviously not the band's fault though.
Nice mix of songs. A lot from Big Whiskey, but they are touring on it right now so you've got to expect that. I really like the album anyway, so it didn't bother me. The band seemed into it, especially considering how far along they are in the tour, but again I don't really have any frame of reference. I don't think I'll be quitting my job to follow them around anytime soon ;), but I'm glad I finally got to see them play live.

The best show I've seen @ Tinley. I thought the encore was weak and I seen a girl pee on the edge of the lawn where the warehouse section was. IT was crazy. I liked the the opening was really strong. Good to see boyd take center stage again. It reminded me of the good old days.

Good, but far from great. That said, it was better than i expected.
I know it is an album year, but maybe a song or two too many from Big Whiskey. Willie on Gravedigger was horrendous and really killed the vibe that the opening 3 songs built. But once Jeff took over on the Lying in the Hands of God Jam, the show took off. Recently was easily the highlight. I used to be a Baby Blue hater, not any more, great in the E1 spot.

Sound was absolutely terrible, they completely butchered DDTW. SMTS was good and so was Song that Jane Likes and OSW. The encore was horrendous, I saw a mass exodus during it. I like Grey Street and the Maker, but neither of them in the encore. Number one song of the night by far was Recently. Go check out some recording of that jam it was incredible, one of the best versions have ever heard.

Show #49. I am glad that I was able to see them near the end of the tour. I thought all of the new songs sounded really tight. I was hoping to hear Alligator Pie but just like all of the previous DMB shows I have been to they always leave you wanting more. So to all you people that whine and cry and say this show would have been really great if they played this or that song you need to remember who you are seeing.
DDTW: - always a great opener, loved the stage for this tour. I thought I heard Dave teasing a little Grace is gone before the start of DDTW.
Seven: Probably my second favorite song on Big Whiskey. This is a song I wonder if it will still be played if/when Tim stops touring with the group.
Shake: Was great lots of energy
OSW: all time favorite, seemed like something was missing in the song, still really nice to hear as always, a song I can never get tired of.
LITHOG: A song that at first I tought was mediocure but grown to like it more. Jeff took the song to a whole different level. I think of the songs I heard this was the only one that I could hear that they have added to from the studio version.
Recently: Have not heard the extended version since 2000. I always think of Soldier Field 2000 probably the best Recently I have heard played.
STLJ: Nice to hear a really old tune.
Nancies & Jimi: Are do these songs ever get old? Jimi Thing seems like it changes every year, loved the Sexy MF interpolation.
Grey Street Closer: Another my favorites, I don't consider a Closer in the same light as a Watchtower or Two Step but that is what they gave us.
Overall Great Show I loved how they mixed quite a few really old songs with the new. I look forward to seeing them next year to see what Big Whiskey songs will remain on the sets and what old songs they will bring back out. KH

12th show, 3rd this year. All of this year's shows have been in my top 5. The BWGK songs have grown and improved steadily throughout the tour. The band jest keeps getting better. Recently was AWESOME. It was neat to see Willie come out for Gravedigger, bugt it he butchered the song to death. If you ever have a chance to see him guest on it.... Pass. Other than that, good show - Last show of summer for me... can't wait for next year!

We couldn't beat our front row seats. The security up there was surprisingly friendly and we're letting people take photos when the people just behind us were getting busted. The sound up there was coming from the monitors rather than Tinley (thank God) so it was excellent. First time up front. I have to say the tix were worth the added price.
Because of our seats, I don't have a lot to bitch about. The show was excellent. The encore a touch weak because it slowed the nuclear reaction from Ants. I hate it when a juiced crowd is dialed down like that... but I know a lot of folks liked Baby Blue. The Maker...was a little sleepy though for E2.
All in all, the boys were animated and seemed to be into this show. Willie was great. No complaints about his participation in Gravedigger.
Saw a nice guy propose to his girlfriend during You and Me. The security guy was going to bust his chops for being on one knee in the aisle and singing to her as he opened the box to her engagement ring - then realized what was happening and intelligently let the proposal proceed. A lot of love in the front row!

My 3rd show at Tinley Park and 24th overall.
Nice show...longer than I expected and better setlist than I expected...exceeded my expectation of this place from my previous experiences. The sound was better too than in '05 or '06, although I had a much closer seat this time.
No 'super rare' cuts, but highlights for me were DDTW opener (can't go wrong), OSW (had not heard it in 5 prior '09 shows), Baby Blue accoustic and The Maker. And Recently with Pretty Girl as well.
Sat next to a guy at his 59th show who has been following DMB for 17 years - pretty cool stuff. Every show I go to I find more and more people like this...I love the following this band has created.

The traffic getting into the venue was riduclous, my friend and I arrived at the exit to Harlem at 7:00 hoping to watch the first half of the iowa game at buffalo wild wings (go hawks) however, it took us 45 minutes to get off of the exit! so we didnt have time and it took another 45 mintues to get to our parking spot! second the accoustics are terrible, worse than i ever remember and I had decent pavillion seats. Nothing compared to Alpine! With all of that negativity behind me, this was the best show I have seen AT this venue! I was pleasently surprised with the energy from the band and the setlist selection... one sweet world and STJL were pleasent surprises. It was cool to see willie do gravedigger! fyi - i see from a few reviews above that people thought it was "out of place" to have willie to gravedigger and someone else said he didnt know the words...well willie actually covered dave's gravedigger and made it a single, youtube it and you can see the music video. his version is kind of brutal to listen to, but just in case people were wondering why they did that song...
overall it was my 15 show and they never cease to amaze me! so much love for dmb!

Biggest compliant were all the damn drunk kids dicking around. Also, DMB blew One Sweet World, one of my favorite songs. Boyd seemed flat and Timmy was doing something weird on his axe. Really great energy for so late in the tour. It was good to see Boyd pick up a lot of solo time. Jeff is a great soloist and showman, but I felt he was a little over the top earlier this year. Great show by DMB. Great enrgy, and Recently was awsome. The only drawbacks were the crowd and the venue. I've never seen/heard a crowd that talked and yelled so much more that they listened/sang. Shut the F up and enjoy the band. That IS why we're here, isn't it??? Second, the venue. I hate this theatre, and swore I would not come back ever again, but the promise of seeing the DMB, and having decent pavillion seats lured me back. Never again. Beer and food prices are absolutely riduculous, security was a joke, and the acoustics of the theatre are even worse than I had remembered. People would be walking into my row and standing literally right in front of me. Asked if they had a ticket to be there, of course, they said no, dropped their heads and left. What an experience killer. Great job DMB!! Love you guys. As for the First Midwest Bank Ampitheater....well FUCK YOU. Tear that piece of shit down so nobody else has to endure the absolutley miserable fan experience we all pay hard earned money for.

This was the only show I attended this year. Funds are low and it felt good being with my DMB friends and family. My complaints are minor and quite frankly unrelated to DMB. Like why does the warehouse always ensure I am seated directly behind the tallest guy in the show? Really? The set list was alright. I would say the crowd lacked energy but really it didn't feel to me as there was a whole lot of energy coming from the stage... All in all, I'm glad I went- but Tinley is no Alpine.

Great Show... even w/ playing 8 of the new tunes. The opening DDTW and So Damn Lucky really set the stage. I thought Willie is a bit out of place on grave digger, but I still love the song. The highlight of the night was Recently w/ the pretty, pretty girl jam - really I must be getting old b/c most of the crowd around me had no idea what Dave was doing... it was soooo good!!! Then if was followed up by the Song that Jane Likes, always a good tune. Lots of solid new songs lead the way to a strong ending - Jimmy Thing w/ sick solos and the the Sexy MF ending, into So much to say, Anyone seen the bridge followed by the usual Too Much tease and a sweet Ants.
On to the encore, I will say it was a little weak... the solo of Baby Blue put the crowd asleep (now that I've seen it live I can confirm the song is not good), The Maker is great tune but out of place in the encore, the crowd came back w/ a strong Greystreet. Over all it was a fun old school / new school show!

Great setlist from the band but worst venue I have ever been to. From the hour that it took me to get down a two mile stretch of road with one lane open to the 30-40 people I saw taking a leak at the back of the lawn. Missed all of Willie, which I've seen about half as much as Dave and since moving from Texas 3 years ago really have missed. Chicago, your people sure are classy!
On to the show. Strong show but we left after Jimi Thing to avoid the traffic. (First time I've done anything like that before but it was my ninth show this year). After looking at the close I don't think I missed much.
Best LITHOG except for Greek night 1. Recently, STJL, OSW...now, if I could just have gotten a BOWA, IBYU, and/or Shotgun this year I would have been really happy.
Oh well, just waiting for Dave and Tim schedule. Thanks for a great year guys!

Had never heard any Big Whiskey songs except Why I am, so came to really love all the other Big Whiskey songs after this show - especially Baby Blue.

Great show I thought. I understand the sound sucks here, but it's not bad at all when your in the front pavilion.

I usually skip the Tinley shows in the past few years... sometimes DMB skips the Tinley shows as well!
I was surprised by the setlist... it was actually rather good for Tinley Park. And then to bring Recently and Song That Jane Likes out... that was a great show guys! See you in 2010!

Jeff tore up LITHOG. Nancies was kick ass. Recently was awesome. Good set list. Were supposed to get a Two Step closer, but venue curfew was drawing near.

Gravedigger with Willie was so epic.
Also glad to here Recently and The Song that Jane Likes as well as my first time hearing Squirm live, and first and only time for Baby Blue.

The energy from the band was amazing and the setlist, along with the solos in many of the songs, was unbelievable. But the crowd is nothing like Alpine.

It was a good show. Probably could have done without a song or two from Big Whiskey. Lots of solid tunes. DDTW was awesome. Encore was kinda weak. I love Grey Street but not to end a show.

Could possibly be the best Jimi Thing I have heard. Always love hearing recently. I just wish they'd stop messing with my head and play Too Much instead of Ants Marching. Great time with great people. The crowd was having a blast where I was.
