Only downfall to the show was Sexy Mother !@#$%$ was not neccessary, and the venue is a shit hole and needs lots of improvemnts, my first show here, and my last at this venue!! show was worth the eight hour drive but not the venue!!

Dave and the guys sang "sexy Mother #@!*&%, shaking that ass, shaking that ass, shaking that ass" at the end of Jimi Thing. That plus Halloween, LIOG, Seven, and The Stone made this concert perfect for me. Great jam on 41 too. Best concert ever! Easily.

Yikes, great show but the lawn was drenched with a couple of downpours during the show. This was the first opportunity to hear the new songs from, Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King album. Missed the encore since Joe was over the whole experience due to being attacked by 2 drunken chicks.

Of the nearly 40 shows I've seen, this is definitely in my top 3. The Stone, LIOG, So Damn Lucky, #41, Halloween, and tons of great songs from the new album made it a very special night... all from 10th row center! The venue is a pit though... gotta do something about that.

This was easily the BEST Dave Concert I've ever seen! I can't believe how much better they sound as a complete band with Tim & Rashawn regular contributors. I found myself chanting, "We remember you, Roi!" during the #41 jam; Jeff - you are truly a gifted sax player! Why I Am also had me remembering back to great Roi jams of past, and ending with Halloween for a 2nd year in a row was sooo sweet!

Great energy, definitely showed how proud they are of the new album playing 9/13 songs from it. #41 took me back to the 11/21/98 show at the Crown, had to be at least 20 minutes. Great JimiThing jam with the "sexy mutha fuckas shakin that ass, shakin that ass" gotta love this band. Halloween is always a welcome addition to any show, but even in the 2nd row, the music and screaming were hard to follow. Can't wait for Blossom next month!

Excellent show. Boyd was on fire and sounded great. Dave's voice was the best I have heard it in a very long time. The new songs are amazing live. Loved the Shake me opener. The Jimi thing outro (Sexy Mfa!!!) No41 was definitely a highlight...Carter and Jeff rocked out!
I can't believe Riverbend got Halloween 2 years in a row. When I heard the Carter drum solo...I thought....no it can't be.....then it slowly built up into halloween.
One of the best shows I have ever been to!
However, what was the deal with Riverbend and toilets....there were none and the lines were way too long. They got rid of port-o-pottys!

It was an absolutely fantastic concert with more jam sessions last night then I can ever remember. The highlights for me were the extended "41" (with Carter and Jeff solos), "Jimi Thing" with a rap in the middle, seeing "Dive In" live, and the encore with "Alligator Pie" and then closing with the infamous "Halloween" which is the song that Dave re-introduced last year in Cincinnati. Not to mention the eeriness that right when Dave starts playing the intro to "Funny The Way It Is" the rain quickly ascended into a torrential downpour. It was quite the moment and set in place the rest of the night.

My pregnant wife and I weren't sure we were going to be able to see Dave on this tour because of the impending birth. But we gobbled up some lawn tickets late last week when it looked safe and decided to hit the road and see Dave for the first time in seven years.
The three hour drive, torrential downpour, and lawn seats were worth it. I loved the show, setlist and atmosphere. Dave sounds better than ever. The new material is fantastic live. They have done Leroi proud.

Would anyone agree that there's a certain amount of thankfulness one should harbor over the incredible fact of living in the Dave Matthews Band era, thus permitting them to be an eye witness of the Dave Matthews Band? This group is the modern-day version of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; yes, it is that profound. What I was blessed to witness last night was nothing short of legendary. When fifteen thousand or so humans are willing to stand in torrential downpour to hear an individual sing his soul, backed by world-class musicians, there is an ingredient of peculiarity in the atmosphere, a substance palpable to the soul and enjoyable beyond the conveyance of language. Folks, we are alive and witnessing one, special musical amalgam; they are the Dave Matthews Band. The addition of Jeff Coffin, Tim Reynolds, and Rashawn Ross to the band's sound is absolutely solidifying the band's position as one of greatest musical acts the world has ever known. I think Dave was honored to know his fans were willingly soaked and confident that the band would deliver. The tracts from Groo Grux were amped, grandiose, and certainly justified the new album's strength to move the band itself into a musical league all their own! Dave thanked the drenched masses with a Halloween closer, this after a much anticipated Alligator Pie; the rain intensified the festive spirit of the wet onlookers. Did anyone ever witness a more ill #41? The audience went crazy after 15 minutes of beautifully turbulent #41 solos only to hear Tim Reynolds redirect the coaster onto some electric track headed straight for the most memorable of shows. The highlight of the evening was Seven; this piece is a brilliant example of Dave's vocals creating a dissonant and radiant backdrop for the song to rest on and simultaneously explode! Does Boyd own Jimi Thing and Lie In Our Graves or what? Thank you, Cincy; thank you, Dave Matthews Band and Crew; thank you, G-D, for allowing me to be born and live in the Dave Matthews pocket of history.

My 12th show and it was easily one of the best. Every band member made incredible contributions to the show last night. Boyd had amazing solos all night, Dave's voice was rockin, Jeff had some ridiculous solos (and I LOVED the Carter/Jeff jam in #41), and the rest of the guys rocked hard as usual. SMLAM, Stay or Leave, Ants, Why I Am, LIOG, Seven, Jimi, 41, Grey, Halloween - just an awesome set!! I thought Alligator Pie was a great encore opener as well. Crowd was kinda lame in my area, but overall this was definitely one of the best shows I have seen.

Everyone around me was enjoying the music, dancing in the rain, and I couldn't have had a better time anywhere else at the amphetheatre. Just to get this part over with: Riverbend is a dump, and an embarrasmment. They took out the port-a-lets this year, which made the bathroom floors a river of pee most of the night. It's disgusting. I say this as a Cincinnatian who lives here... Riverbend should be ashamed of themselves to pinch pennies at such a big event, and especially during the year of the venue's 25th Anniversary. Also, the place still sounds great, but only if you're in the pavilion. Thing is, people on the pavilion and the lawn get two different shows, and it's not cool. The sightline from the lawn is awful thanks to the pillars, and the sound is just muddy as the crowd fills in. Sigh... all that being said...

Best Riverbend show in years, it really was. Not just comparing to '06, either when I say the crowd energy was amazingly high and Cincinnati was really supporting the band. The boys are in absolute top form this tour!! It was a real treat to see this show right up front, too, thanks to The Warehouse. Pit Row C (longer row than A and B, so it became the front row!), stage left, right in front of Boyd and Tim. Oh, lucky day!!

Highlights: Just watching Tim f'n wail all night long!! Boyd giving all of us down in the pit what felt like our own personal show. The entire crowd, singing Jimi Thing REALLY LOUDLY for a change, in the middle of a monsoon. Shakin' dat ass, shakin' dat ass... #41, just listening to the beauty and mastery of the back-and-forth between Carter and Jeff, with Tim out in the beautiful space. Come to think of it, listening to the show a few days later confirms the feeling at the time: best Jimi and #41 I believe I've ever heard in person.

Looking through the setlist again, you know, I don't have any complaints. The band walked in, played SMLAM, and held the crowd in the palm of its hand through until Halloween. This thing needs to be a Live Trax at least.

Best thing for me personally, though? Hearing almost the entire BW album!! How many times do you get to go see your favorite band live, the same week they have a #1 Album? I think that had a lot to do with how the entire Cincinnati crowd seemed to love the new songs (Cincy Metro is a rather huge fan base for DMB to begin with). SDL outro into --> "Seven" had everybody shakin' dat ass for sure. Crowd really, really loves "Funny The Way It Is", and it made me smile just watching the sea of people sing every word. When you hear the tapes, listen to Boyd's flawless performance on FTWIT, and throughout the rest of the show. It was such a Boyd Night. SMLAM opener was the best imaginable choice! And "Why I Am" just gets better and better and better. "Squirm" was great but the rains during "Jimi" had worn everyone out, I think!

This was show #27 for me, and looking over my list carefully and taking a few days to think about it, I can honestly say that 6-16-09 catapulted right into my Top 3. I wish I could see, hear, and experience this show over and over again.

I don't care what this show looks like on paper; this show was insane and probably one of the best shows I've been to. It's is simply amazing how they never stoping outdoing themselves year after year. Big Whiskey songs sounded great, the old stuff sounded great: Ants was off the hook, as was #41, Jimi Thing, Stone, Shake Me. Alligator Pie and Halloween in the encore was ridiculus and I loved the way they reworked the intro. Sweet Show!!
