Loved the Star Spangled Banner before the band took the stage. I'll never complain about a Seek Up opener. I thought that the band chose to play at a small minor league baseball stadium for July 4th was awesome. But this was the drunkest crowd I've seen to date. I must have had 2-3 (at least half full) beers spilled on me in the last part of the show. Wasn't a bad time. However, it was one of the worst times I've had at a DMB show.

It was a war down on the field! Drunk kids pushing and spilling beer everywhere, but I suppose that's part of the fun. Was on the right side prob about 5th row if there were seats right in fron of Coffin. Very good set list with Sail Away being the July 4th song. Thought we might get Sugar Will, but not this time. Mom went with me and what an experience being down on the field. BTW maybe 6th straight time I've heard Cornbread, and it gets better everytime.

First off let me say that the Charleston crowd is TERRIBLE. My friend and I arrived at 12:30 to get a good shot at a good spot once the gates opened since the GA admission area with the field going straight up to the stage. During the entire show, while i am no more than 25 ft. back center stage, people are trying to push by saying "my boyfriend is right there" or "I'm looking for the bathrooms." I showed up 8 hours early to get these seats and the disrespect and inconsideracy from the Charleston crowd disgusted and appalled me.

BUT, aside from that, really good show. This was #12 for me. Crush blew my mind. Jeff Coffin and Tim Reynolds crossing the stage to solo face-face... It was one of those surreal moments. So Damn Lucky was great to hear full-band for the first time (I was there when Dave debuted it at a full band show in Brussels '07.) Corn Bread is a great song, Sledgehammer is a perfect cover, and #41 is my favorite song of all time.

Sitting up front I did notice that Dave was alllll over the place while playing Sail Away. He messed up the guitar part about 6 times while forgetting which chords to switch to but somehow still managed to pull off a great cover.

All in all a good show, but the last one I will see in Charleston. I hate getting distracted by dumb drunk high school girls bitching about the "assholes" in Charleston who won't let a string of 9 of them come into the front row.

What a show!!! Hadn't seen DMB since 2005 and it was a great way to be welcomed back. Sledgehammer blew me away and finally getting a Seek Up opener made the long trek to Charleston totally worthwhile.

First time seeing DMB live. I was sorry to hear that LeRoy was out of commission for a while, but I thought the addition of a trumpet along with the sax lineup was awesome. This is a great quality tape.

Great smaller venue, good sound...cool hendix star spangled banner to open....Crush was superb, it was awesome seeing Coffin and Tim duel face to face....this was my 41st show so of course it was nice to hear it, but I must say in Raleigh 2 nights earlier it was jammed out much better with more energy....Sail Away was out of nowhere, always nice to hear a debut...crowd sang Star Spangled Banner before the encore started, we got loud, it was pretty cool...Hey Hey was classic, I love some Neil Young and the boys did it justice...Billies was good but they closed with it in Raleigh, would've rather heard someting else....what happened to Sugar Will by the way, I hear it soundchecked in Raleigh and Charleston but a no go on the setlist, bummer, i've been waiting since '04 to hear this 1, maybe in Memphis...Peas in the Valley Y'all

This was my greatest show ever! A friend and I got two free GA tickets. We tortured ourselves from Noon to till Old Crow came on in the hot, hot sun. But when the gates opened, we sprinted to the field and yes we were 3 rows back from Dave and his fellows!! Incredible

Awesome way to celebrate the 4th of July! I really liked how the stage was set up at the center of the outfield, which allowed for a huge standing area around the band and great crowd energy.

Awesome show!!! It would be 5 stars but the awful crowd was a huge buzzkill. I missed a good portion of YMDT and a little bit of #41 because of the drunken idiots trying to push their way past me (3rd row). Aside from that, Crush was absolutely nasty...best I've ever heard (Raleigh's Crush two days before is a close second). Great to hear BOWA too. I was a little disappointed to see Billies close two shows in a row but its still a helluva song. Very solid show overall.

Let me say first that DMB gave an amazing performance as always.

My wife and I have been to about 30 shows and I must say that the crowd in Charleston was the most disappointing, unenthusiastic, and lousy group of people we have ever seen at a DMB show.

We are still not sure why everyone was so distracted from the show, but we could barely hear Dave sing Sister over the rabble rabble of their conversations.

We just wanted to apologize to DMB for the lack of participation from the crowd. DMB played a great show and this will definitely not be our last, but it was the only show we will ever attend in Charleston.

Had a great time standing about 30 feet away from Dave...the performance was great. I thought they catered to the casual, younger fan because of the mainstream songs (mostly from Crash). For example, myself and a buddy of mine named 12 songs we really wanted to see (Dreamgirl, Idea of you, Grace is Gone, Lie in our Graves, etc) and the guys didn't touch any of them. But that just shows how great they are. Will definitely go back to Charleston when they play again, hopefully next summer.

Maybe I'm just a little nostalgic for Charleston, but I thought the show was awesome. Only my second show and I was up front! All the way to the left, but whatever. Seek Up, Best of What's Around, Hey Hey My My, and Tripping Billies were great. Sail Away was cute - I like the shout out to Charleston - even if it's not really a bay. :)

Overall I enjoyed this show. As far as the setlist goes, I was a little disappointed that they repeated so many songs from Charlotte and Raleigh. BOWA, #41, Crush, Sledgehammer, Hey Hey My My were the highlights for me. Despite having heard #41 and Crush in Raleigh, you just cannot beat the energy they put into those songs. I've seen enough shows from GA lawn, and judging by other reviews I am glad I went with reserved seats. In my opinion, the venue just wasn't equipped to handle this crowd. Bathrooms were packed, concession lines were adding to already congested walkways, and forcing all ticket holders through one gate was a bad call. Traffic actually flowed pretty well, and the sound at the show was surprisingly good. I just think a bigger or better organized venue is necessary for a DMB sized crowd.

Great sound as usual from the band. Although, after attending both Charlotte and Raleigh earlier in the week, a little disappointed in the similarities in the set lists. Crowd control for entering the stadium, especially general admission was a little rough as well.

It was a great show, one of the better ones I've seen, and I've seen a few. The crowd was smaller than usual cause of the venue but it was great. Here's hoping Leroi gets better soon, but all in all great show. My first with Tim Reynolds in it which made for a very different sound! Plus the recording on this one is great! Hey Hey My My was a great cover. Listen to the recording and judge for yourself but it was an awesome show!

An extremely badass show. They boys ripped up the beginning, calmed down just enough in the end, and then blew out the end. Probably the best yet besides the fact i was 4 rows back!! wow! But the crowd, near the front anyways, was full people who wouldn't stop trying to slip further up and god the guy behind me wouldn't stop yelling for 'where are you going' and 'i did it'. But we did sing the star spangled banner between the encore break.

Amazing show, amazing view (center and 2 rows back). I can only think of a couple of songs that I would trade out, but I am not going to complain because we got more of my top songs than I expected.
Most of the people around me were great expect for the three girls that were wasted on probably a combination of things that kept trying to weasel their way in front of us.

I figured I post my first review after my 18th show last night in Charleston. First off, the venue was great. Traffic wasnt bad in or out (at least that I saw), plenty of parking, and other than the trouble getting people out, the stadium was set up all. I had seen one baseball stadium show before (Turner Field in Atl in 01) and the sound was awful, but last night the sound seemed great.

Before the band came out, the screens came down with a huge American flag and Hendrix's Star Spangled Banner was played. Really cool way to open the show.

1. Seek Up - My favorite opener. Beautiful version though it seemed shorther than usual. I cant believe that people could bitch about this even if played back to back shows.

2. Old Dirt Hill - I hated this in 05 when I heard it first full band. Its better now but still not very good. Tim does add to it but it should stay D&T.

3. BOWA - Heard this getting sound check and was so excited. It wasnt the Sugar Will debut I was dreaming of, but was a great version. DMBAlmanac still says just Tim on the song, but Jeff definitely played and had a nice solo to close.

4. Crush - I think this was the best song played, by far the best version Ive ever heard in person or on tapes. Amazing. Jeff and Tim came together in front of Carter and had a back and forth jam that was earth-moving. Rashawn had a nice solo as well.

5. You Might Die Trying - I liked this song before and it continues to grow on me. Another song that Jeff can shine on. I think this should get credit as being from another album when we say things like no Stand Up songs.

6. #41 - The song I was most excited to hear with Jeff. Good version with a nice Soujorn of Arojona (I have no idea how to spell that.) Another great Jeff solo. The crowd sang the Everyday outro.

7. Everyday - I am willing to bet this wasnt on the setlist. Dave went to Carter during #41 and changed it a think. Dont love the song but it is fun when the crowd gets into it. Not good on a tape or release but enjoyable at show.

8. Cornbread - Love this song. Short enough to get played every show without becoming a hassle. Glad its staying as a mid-set fun song.

9. Sail Away - Cool to hear a debut. Dave got the Charleston call out (w/ the Charleston bay line which later led to some odd speech about how Dave knew Charleston isnt a bay).

10. Sledgehammer - So glad this got played. I love Peter Gabrial and I love this song. Made for DMB.

11. Ants Marching - Awesome suprise midset and another highlight of the night. Snare Intro. Rashwan came in about 3 seconds early which was pretty funny. Carter seemed to change the jam to let Boyd solo longer before the horns came in. Great version.

12. Sister - Pretty lame and this point. I can see it E1 but dont like it midset.

13. So Damn Lucky - So glad to hear this song. Love it so much and full band nails it. Tim is great on it.

14. Bayou - Really didnt want to hear this as its now 8 times in 9 shows since SU was released. Pretty good version. Boyd was great and Carter's drums at the end are good. Best of all it led to a really awkward fist pump between Tim and Boyd that was easily may favorite part of the night.

15. Crash into Me - Glad to see Bayou didnt close. Crash always get a negative rep for being a radio song all the drunk high school girls love, but it is a good song.

16-17. SMTS - ASTB - Too Much - 1 song as far as Im concerned. The new ASTB with the freezes are cool and Tim was great on Too Much. Now seen Too Much and Rapunzel as Opener, Set Closer, and Encore Closer.

18. Hey Hey, My My - Love to see a Neil Young cover. Tim had some really nice guitar effect at the end that I dont know enough about music to describe.

19. Tripping Billies - Dont care if it closed back to back shows, it was perfect. It took me 7 years and 14 shows to hear Billies for the first time so I always will treasure getting it. Plus finally heard a Nature intro (chords at least).

Overall, one of my favorite shows. Maybe the best musically and a good set list. Cool venue and nice to see a 4th of July show. Wish Sugar Will had come back but Im going to Atlanta on Monday, so got another shot.

Great setlist, crappy crowd. Unbelievable jams by Jeff Coffin, he's definitely a great addition to the tour along with Tim & Rashawn. Sail Away was unusual but nice, Sledgehammmer was fantastic, and a great rare performance of The Best of Whats Around (awesome Coffin jam there).
