well i've been to a lot of dave matthews shows and i will tell you from start to finish this show was Solid...they came out full force and the band just seemed to have an energy about them. Best song #41 with john mayer you cant really ask for anything more with that. i wouldnt be suprised if they gave this a listen or two and then made it a LIVE TRAX, this show is definately worthy of that. oh and dont forget...Jimi thing with Harris was sick fading into three little birds...which was just off the wall..and a great song to bring the hokie nation together for the up coming school year!

A radio fan's dream show... and I'm anything but a radio fan. However, Three Little Birds was incredible. But John Mayer was a lackluster and not very flashy addition to #41. I was expecting a lot more out of a top guitarist like him. And did I mention this show was poppy? Just look at the setlist! First and only Dave show to ever disappoint me.

Soooo... even though the setlist was quite similar to my last show (08.15.2007) this show still blew my mind. I cannot begin to describe the amount on people in this stadium, it was nuts! The energy of the band, the crowd, and Dave's shenanigans made this one of the best shows I will ever see. By the way, John Mayer + Dave Matthews Band = Fucking amazing version of #41.

I thought it was an good show. I certainly give Dave & Friends HUGE props for coming to try to heal some open wounds. The songs were good, I was a little upset they didn't play much from Under the Table and Dreaming & Everyday. I haven't listened to their newest studio album which I'm going to buy soon. A lot of people didn't know the songs so most of us just watched and listened in amazement with those long jams and solos.

I think the best moment in the concert was when Dave played a Bob Marley cover of Three Little Birds. The ENTIRE (by ENTIRE, I mean 50,000 people) were clapping and singing along. It gave me chills. Being a student here and feeling the love in that stadium at that moment made me want to cry happy tears. I think everyone in a way healed from that song, in particular. It was one of those moments where you HAD to be there. People that were there know the feeling that I'm talking about.

THANK YOU Dave & Friends. Virginia Tech loves you.

Outstanding setlist, complete with great energy from the band. Despite the show being free, they attacked it with passion. HIghlights were Cornbread, #27, and Eh Hee. The only reason the concert only gets 4 from me is that the crowd was not 100% into it because they were not necessarily all 100% DMB fans. I enjoyed the mixture of mainstream and lesser known songs. I also enjoyed being the guy that knows all the words to every song haha. "What song is this? How the hell do you know all the words?".

Great show. As a VT Student I thought this was great. A lot of positive energy in the place, 50,000 is the biggest dave show i've ever seen. Best part was when the crowd broke into "dont worry bout a thing, cause every little things a gonna be alright"
the dreamgirl and hunger duo wasnt the best, but great setlist as well....cornbread baby :)

There was a lot of new material as has been the case this tour. It was fun having John Mayer and all the other guests jamming with the guys. The crowd was alive and having a blast. The one song encore was really weak and I think that is a horrible trend that has started this summer tour. I'd rather them play one less song in the regular set and give us two real good encore songs. But any Dave concert is still a treat.

#41 was awesome with John Mayer. They did the So Much to Say, Anyone Seen the Bridge, and Too Much that was awesome at the Gorge again. Jimi Thing with David Ryan Harris was great. The break between the main set and the encore was insane, great atmosphere. Overall a very fun show, except for the fact that no one stood up around me in Zone 1 and a bunch of people left 2/3 of the way through. Us die hards stayed though, and saw a really fun show.

This was my 8th show, and quite possibly the best yet. The band left it all out there. First time seeing #41. Add to that that John Mayer sat in on it was unbelievable. Solid the hole way through. Dave cracked me up the entire time. I havent seen that from him in years. Prediction.... This show goes to DVD, as it should. Thanks to all who played and those who were lucky enough to experience it. A truly unforgetable show.

I didn't think that my day could get better, being that I had a 6th row seat, but it sure did. Before the show, and just by dumb luck, a friend and I got our picture taken with Dave (AMAZING). I loved the setlist, minus the slower middle part, but the las half was amazing. I really didn't think that I would even have a chance at one of Carter's drumsticks, but I guess I did something right because I did. What an unbelievable experience, and a great start to the year.

They played a lot of the same songs as the recent Va. Beach show which was a bit of a bummer but the energy of the night was great. It was a nice treat to get to hear some old faves too. They did some crazy freeze-frame and slo-mo stuff during Jimi Thing which was pretty entertaining. Overall quite a good show.

Best DMB show I've seen out of several dozen. It may not have been the best setlist (although it's close), but the performances and energy were what made this so memorable. The band seemed genuinely happy to be playing for us, and the crowd fed off their energy like crazy. #41 was a highlight as always, and this was the best Jimi Thing I've personally ever heard. David Ryan Harris' solo was out of this world. Three Little Birds was obviously a surprise, and a very emotional and moving tribute to Virginia Tech. Other highlights were an energetic Two Step opener, an unbelievable Crush, and the SMTS > ASTB > Too Much trifecta, during which the crowd was going bonkers. Such a great, memorable evening, and I truly appreciate DMB giving us such a fine memory to begin the year with.

This was the finest concert I've ever experienced. The energy flowing from the crowd to the bands on stage was unbelievable the whole night. Hokie chants and the wave were commonplace throughout the evening and really got everyone excited for every act, even those that were not familiar with every performer. As for DMB's set, say what you want about the songs they played, but one could tell how in tune they were with the crowd. From my view, it looked like they changed the opener to Two Step after the loud welcome they received (I could be wrong, but I think Fonzy came out with the 4-string and then switched). I knew John Mayer would guest on a song, and I was hoping it would be 41, and I definitely wasn't disappointed. The Jimi Thing jam went on for what seemed like forever and then magically transformed into Marly's Three Little Birds. At the end of the song, the band completely stopped playing and let the crowd clap and sing. It was a surreal moment. At the end of the show, DMB and the guest musicians all lined up and took a bow together, something else I've never seen before. Tonight was something I'll definitely never forget.

It was a real treat for the hokies. It didn't feel like a DMB show really though because there were a lot of non fans there. That and the set list was way to similar to the last time they came to VA, which killed it a lot for me. If the were going to play a lot of love songs they could have played some ones they don't play that much. That being said it is always a treat to see them play..Three Little Birds was awesome!
