Great energy from the band. Not the greatest of set lists, but the energy from the band and how loud the crowd was made up for it. Don't drink the water was amazing, as was Lie in Our Graves, the second time I have seen it this tour! Boyd continues to outdo himself. Dave's scat during Too Much and his dancing during Rapunzel were crazy.

I have to agree with Vailkid. This was somewhere around my 17th show, third of the summer (after Hershey and Nissan) and by far the worst DMB show I've been to so far. I tried to figure out whether it was my utter disappointment with the set list, which included mostly only boring radio songs as the songs they didn't play Saturday or Sunday, but in truth it was the performance. There was absoluetly zero energy going on on stage all night. I think those of you impressed by Boyd during LIOG felt that way because it was the only flash of energy during the entire show. Honestly, the fact that it was about 30 minutes shorter than the other shows I've seen this tour was a blessing. I never thought I'd be disappointed by DMB -- I realize now that there's a first time for everything. If I didn't have VA beach to look forward to, I'd be completely crushed.

While it is difficult to give a bad review because it is DMB after all, I do have to say this was the worst of the 7 shows I have seen. After playing in the same general area only a few nights before at Nissan I wasn't expecting to hear repeats, minus the four new songs of course. I guess I had too high of expectations that Dave would realize his large fan base would travel to both shows in this area and would completely change the set list from the show at Nissan. He did change some of the songs and the ones he did change were all singles played on the radio that you hear everytime you get in the car. While they are all good songs I expected a better variety. Now The Stone and LIOG is always a good one to hear and are personal favorites and in my opinion help save the show. Really enjoyed the song they are calling "Thing." Wanted a little more energy from the band and more solo's and jam songs would have been nice but it is Dave and you gotta love anything that he plays. Can't wait for VA Beach on July 23rd!!!

Awesome! But damn I have been to 2 shows now and still havent heard satellite. Oh well guess I have to go to the next one too. I know that isnt many show compared to the rest of you. I was expecting the show to be a little more energetic. It seemed that there were big lulls in it where large groups were actually sitting down. I personally am not real fond of just instrumentals and there seemed to be a lot of that. I would much rather be singing alon as I am sure everyone else would as well. I actually thought to my self...damn doesnt the band realize they are losing the crowd at a couple of points. But damn it it was still DMB and it still rocked.

Last show I went to because the magic I used to get from DMB shows just wasnt there any longer and the atmosphere just was not what I experienced when I started going to shows in 1995. The only other show I plan on ever going to will be a Dave and Tim show.

I’ve been waiting for the boys to come to Merriweather for years. It was nice to leave my apartment at 7:00 and be home by 11:15. I will also say that I liked the “smaller” crowd(compared to others). I was also expecting the acoustics to be far worse than they were. Overall, I was not disappointed. That said, if I had traveled hundreds of miles to go this concert, I would have been. The boys sounded tight and even though they played a “Best of DMB” concert (Too Much, Crash, What Would You Say, etc.), I still had a great time. Thumbs up to: Small venue, Hello Again (EASILY the best new song - I thoroughly enjoyed it - Usually, I have to warm up to new songs, but not this one- Fantastic!), Roi’s solo on Sugar Will, DDTW (not of fav of mine, but I’m always blown away by its energy when performed live), Lie In Our Graves (Boyd and Butch were feelin’ it), and seeing Roi play w/o sunglasses on. Thumbs down to: “Jumbotrons” not working through the whole show, too many singles (Too Much, WWYS, etc. – I like them but a little more variety would have been nice.) Indifferent: I Did It – I LAUGH every time I hear this played in concert or see it appear on a setlist. The song isn’t bad, but it’s safe to say that the song represents, Everyday, the album. That’s why the song isn’t liked by too many, and despite the bands efforts and energy, not everyone is going to like it. Again, I don’t think it’s a bad song – it just makes me laugh when I hear it.

A lot of people don't seem to like the "Too Much" closer but they rocked out on it! They did the extended jam which they had done the night before when they had played it, and I thought it was one of the highlights of the night. I think the band was tired, my friends who were supposed to go back stage were told the band was not up for meeting people that day.. So i think that attributed to the lack of energy. Merriweather is such a great place to see a concert! I really hope they keep coming back and next time I hope they are WIDE awake and rocking out. But I still had a blast.

Second show in four days, and worth the ride through traffic to see it. Great crowd, and the setlist was a good mix of old and new. Drunkenly called out for Warehouse, and (I'm sure at my request:P) they played it! Can't wait for 2005.

This show was absolutly amazing. It may be one of the best I've been to. I had great seats I got through the Warehouse and Merriweather is an awesome venue. It is similar to Nissan in layout, but is much smaller and totally kicks Nissan's ass. I totally guessed they would open with Grey Street and that really got the crowd excited. The new songs were awesome and the effects they accompanied them were great too. The setlist may be one of the best from 2004, and the Lie In Our Graves was absolutly phenominal. The best version ever, Boyd played like a ten minute solo and it was amazing. Definitly the best song of the night. All in all the show was great, the only dissappointment was the encore, I thought they could of played something better than WWYS, but Rapunzel was good. Great Show!!

wow... i have to say that i am very disapointed with this show... Set doesnt look that bad on paper but it was. No energy untill OSW and DDTW but then it stopped because of the i did it --->WAYG, i couldnt believe it,dave didnt even say goodbye or take care after the closer,(which was too much :-( ....The 5 hour trip def wasnt worth it, worst show ive seen in 27 shows

I have to agree with those of you who said this show was the worst you've seen. Dave was just f*@ked up - as was evident by his lethargic intro for GALATIC - and the lack luster energy on stage. It took him over an hour before he came out of his "stupor" and started to work the crowd. Very disappointing show - though I will go see them again

I had preferred lawn seats at this concert and had a great time. The weather was perfect and the band was trying out new songs that would eventually be on the Stand Up album. The highlight of the night was a fantastic Lie in Our Graves with Boyd putting on an incredible performance that just got you jumping.

This may have been THE best show ... Rhyme and Reason was full of confusion and anger, it captured a breakdown like I'd never heard as raw before. Also debuted a bluegrass song (Hello Again or Sugar Will) that I am dying to hear again.

good show, but nothing really special about it. the setlist was a little dull, no real surprises and too many of the radio singles got played. and im sorry dave, but you should really never play I Did It. the performance by the band was amazing, but the setlist really sort of put it at the bottom of the list of shows i have seen this year. i have been to hershey and nissan which were two of the best dmb shows i have ever seen. the july 11th show at nissan is easily the most amazingshow ive ever seen and merriweather just didnt come close. while rapunzel is a great song, in order to do this show justice DMB would have had to have done a Watchtower or What You Are or Ants Marching as the closer, and it simply didnt happen. but the band is tearing it up this summer, can't will till VA BEACH 7/23

I was kinda disapointed in this show. We were also at Hershey which had an almost identical setlist which kind of sucked. Still a fun show though i wish i could have heard some different songs. ALthough I feel priveleged to have heard the only two LIOG's on the tour and its one of my personal favs

It was great to see LeRoi so comfortable that he played most of the show without the sunglasses. Absolutely phenomenal LIOG - Boyd was on fire. I enjoyed the setlist though I would have much preferred a Watchtower or Two Step closer than Rapunzel, which they're beating to death this year. It was 10 yrs since they played the venue which probably made for the great setlist. However, I drove 700 miles to be there and have to say that the venue sucked - inconsistent sound, brutal parking, horrible facilities. The only good thing about the venue was security, which was the best I've ever seen at a DMB show.

I've been told wasn't one of his best, but I had a great time. Yea so the crowd wasn't as into as me and my crazed Dave friends... but we didn't care. It was nice to have him so close to home... Merriweather isn't the best but it was still good. He had a few really good songs... playing Joy Ride was sweet even tho I couldn't sing along, I like new songs! Gotta give him credit on playing like 6 unreleased songs... now thats nice. And LIOG is always amazing live. Hopefully Dave'll come around soon to good ole MD!

I'm not really sure what everyone is bitching about. My 12th show and I had a blast. The pavillion was as loud as anywhere I've been, and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Boyd was a little slow to start but Leroi more than made up for it. I even had a pole blocking my view of Dave but I still managed to have fun...but then again, I don't pretend to play critic in my spare time. The new songs are great!

In my small estimation, this was undoubtedly tied for the best DMB show i'd ever been to. The band's tightness, the audience's energy, and the choices of songs played made for a VERY enjoyable night. Favorite part of the evening? "Lie In Our Graves", when Boyd went off on a tear and danced all around the stage, whipping both band and audience into a frenzy. The extreme joy on his face and wonderful talent combined to make that performance his most memorable to me.

Good show I guess, but definitely could have been better. He played songs I didn't know (I warmed up to them, but was initially dissappointed) and the rest tended to be his radio songs. Of course LIOG blew me away, but even warehouse wasn't as good, perhaps that was from weak crowd energy (that's what you get for being on the lawn). One Sweet World and Crash were a welcome surprise and Grey Street an awesome opener, but overall i'd give it an "eh"

Just wanted to thank ablevis41 and slickmp for connecting with me yesterday. My friend and I had a great time. Dave played some personal faves, including 1st Three, esp Whne the World Ends WtWE? and Crash Into Me, the first DMB song I really responded to. When he plugged in on I Did It, though, that really did it for me. I was jumping and singing and pointing to myself on the line "Guilty as charged!" And then Where Are You Going was the perfect touch. Preferred Lawn--Now there's a concept, eh? Two thumbs up. Way up! And mad props to the tall kid to our right who came over and let us in on all the new songs: Sugar Will, Crazy-Easy, JoyRide and the first one, gotta go back and check. You kick ass, man! Am looking to acquire this show and Hershey 7/10 adn Nissan 7/11. Have tons of Neil Young, some PJ, Springsteen, Costello others. OLISR72

This was my 76th show and it sucked beyond belief. Not because the band wasn't great, that can't happen but because the venue sucked!! I've seen quite a few shows at Merriweather, but the stage set up this time caused a complete vision block. I was in the front row stage left and could only see Dave and Stefan. It was miserable! I can't imagine any torture worse that hearing that amazing music and not being able to see Carter. I'll say that I saw 2/5 of a show....

Okay so I was having a great time being one of the few that was dancing my ass off, I actually felt silly at times because so many people were so uptight and just standing around on the lawn , though I did hear a good crowd reaction in between songs and after the bad a$s solos. However for some reason I felt some what cheated at the end. Was it because the crowd was kinda' lame, was it because the guys still had time to play like 2 more songs before the noise ordinance curfew, or was it because they waited until towards the end of the night to pull out "I did it" and "W.A.Y.G." (rather than getting them outta the way in the beginning). However truly looking back on the show and getting a look at the full set list I realized that this was an AWESOME show at an incredible venue. Every song (exceot those two I just named) were incredible! Grey STreet, WTWE, CRASH!!!! (I haven't herad that song in 4 years and was it ever good to hear it live again!), all of the new songs and even the 5th new one, "Thing" known as "hmmm?? (new)", on the Warehouse setlist, to the stone, OSW, DDTW, Warehouse, 2Much and the enitre "L.I.O.G." which was totally topped off by BOYD's ripping solo (who my little sister now completely emulates because that was her fisrt DMB experience and now she is a hooked). The encore didn't dissapoint either!!!!!!!! So maybe I was just too tired too realize it walking out but tonite along with Nissan's incredible show truly has hi-lited my summer so far. Tonites show at Merriweather couldn't have been a finer way to debut at such a great venue. So on behalf of every Dave MAtthews Band fan who agrees with me (anyone who doesn't , I'm sorry because you're missing an experience beyond words), Thank you Dave, Carter, Boyd, Leroi, Stefan and Butch for making my summer better and better with every year that passes and please keep doing it cause I don't know where I'd be with out you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Much love from the Quakers of Sandy Spring, Maryland Christian Seith "Let your lives Speak" -John Fox

Finally, The Dave Matthews Band comes back to Merriweather he hasn't been to Merriweather in 10 years. Right off the bat in the parking lot, the police bust these kids who were partying on a bus (they took their Keg too). That was messed up. Then.. Crash, a nice surprise, only the 2nd time I've heard it. STONE, LIOG, PNP>Rapunzel, WWYS, were all very good. They did play the best TOO MUCH I have ever heard, Dave did this crazy freestyle at the end and extended the song another 2 1/2 min. It was an awesome way to break for the encore performance. Prelude tease was cool, but not the full one like @ Hershey. The venue is too small, the a/v system sucked. My only beef, but this will be the closest to home I will ever see them, so it's allgood. Every DMB experience is amazing when your a fan of music. I also have to say that Sugar Will is taking over this tour, and it is awesome! I absolutely love the song, love the jams, and love how well Roi fits into this song. He makes it so well. I can't say enough about that tune.

Not the religious experience that was my last show (9/11/03) But a solid effort from the boys. My seats were choice, back right center of the pavillion, saw the whole stage. Nothing really to write home about with this one. the new songs sound really really good, but it is kind of hard ot get really into them at this point. IDI was a buzzkill, but Crash was great, my first time hearing it in the 10 shows I've been to. Rapunzel to close was interesting and refreshing---and they played the hell out of it to frinish strong. other highlights included a sick LIOG jam and some very interesting scatting at the end of Too Much to liven that song up a bit--I seem to get it at almost every show. a solid B

I'll have to admit that I was just a tad bit dissapointed with the show. The energy was totally different than that of Nissan and Hershey the nights before, but it wasn't a horrible show. There were def some solid parts, and Dave's legs were in full force but the crowd sucked. Being from this area, and knowing that half of the crowd was nothing but radio Dave fans and japs is what I think ruined it for me, it was my 7th show, and my last one of the summer so I was hoping for a bit more. I will have to say that Joy Ride and Hello Again are absolutely amazing, as well as LIOG.

This was the kind of setlist I've waited for. Two years since a new album has given me plenty of time to get into everything they play. The new songs are great as well and was cool that they were thrown in (Hello Again especially). First time for a lot of songs Stone, Rhyme & Reason, Rapunzel, One Sweet World, Warehouse, Crash, etc. Must have been unlucky in the past and had too many repeats. Albeit this is only my 3rd show. Highlight of the night for me was Lie in Our Graves. Boyd rock the stage. I give this show a 4 and a half out of 5. I don't understand what everyone else was complaining about. Low point of the night for me was my gf at the time. All I can say is worthless dead weight, she sat down (Don't like it... Don't come)!

Great show. Not happy about the end. I know Dave would have come back out after he ended for a 2nd encore...maybe ants marching or watchtower, but after repunzel ended, everyone started dispersing. You could tell the lights didn't come immediately on like they usually do when its DEFINITLY over. Obviously the Columbia, Maryland crowd doesn't know how it works, or didnt like the show that much

Hard to say. I waited last minute to get tickets and ended up in the lawn. Not usually too bad, but way too many drunken idiots. I agree with others that the show was a little lackluster, but a good 75% of the crowd were there just to say they wwent to a big name concert. Kinda sucks being stuck in the mid-atlantic area. Way to many 16 yr olds with mom & dads credit card f-ing up a good time for others. Was still great to see some new songs performed.
