1st DMB show!!

Best version of Everyday I've heard to date. The crowed held a slow and steady chorus while Dave and Boyd complimented each other with varying paces of "hurry honey..." and "pick me up love..." Very cool.

This was my 75th show and it was unbelievable! Now...it might have had something to do with the fact that I was 8th row and with a DMB virgin (who also happens to be a hottie), but nevertheless I had a f-in blast! Crowd was intense...Dave was amped up...Hairs were standing up on my arms...and the new songs are starting to grow on me. My boyz all liked the 1st night show(BOWA, Jimi Thing were sick) But my vote goes to night 2! Next stop Hartford...The Last Stop
Carson, CA!!!

What an amazing show. First of all I really like the new songs, especially HELLO AGAIN. Onto the highlights. PIG, awesome. BARTENDER, phenomenal. Stefan's solo going into GIG was spectacular. DIDO, RECENTLY, and CRY FREEDOM were all very pleasant surprises. GREY STREET and ANTS were unbelievable, talk about keeping the energy going! Dave and Boyd's dueling lyrics on EVERYDAY>#36 was very cool. Thought I was finally going to hear Watchtower at the encore but instead they went into a very cool SMTS>ASTB?>PANTALA>RAPUNZEL. Most energetic crowd I've ever been a part of (but does anyone really think Dave and co. care if the Yankees Suck or not?), great band energy, best show to date for me. Side note to fans: Bring someone who's never been to a show before. I went with a friend who's been a fan for years but never saw them live and his enthusiasm was contagious. It makes the experience that much cooler. OK, I'm off my soap box now...

More energy than night before, but still kinda flat. Nothing like 9/8-9/9 2003

Amazing Show. Rapunzel was a great closer. New songs sounded even tighter than night before. Fonzi on the slide guitar (Grace is Gone Intro) was off the hook.

Great show, best for me to date... highlight was SMTS>PNP>Rapunzel for me. Ants and grey street really got the crowd going, huge energy. Cry freedom was nicely placed and DIDO was phenominal. Thextended everyday was a nice treat. Thankfully, dave didnt fuck up a great set by playing IDI or WAYG like night one, so cheers for that.

Mindblowing. My buddy and I left the show with a new excitement for new dmb material. I liked it when Dave said he was gonna have "a boston tea party of his own" during Drive in Drive Out.

Seemed like it took the band a while to get going, kind of upset about the shortened Recently, but Hello Again was absolutely incredible. I'm really loving the new songs... Everyday was great as always.. it seems to get better and better.. kind of disappointed by the lack of Two Step and Nancies, but whatever. It's a Dave show and I had fun.. :)

I thought this show was amazing! I was about 25 rows from the front. The tailgate was great, and I knew that the show would be fun, you could just since the energy. Love the new music. I went to both shows and I think I liked the second show better.

Started out a great show, but Dave let me down two songs in a row...Grace is Gone - the first few times this summer Dave and Boyd did this amazing square dancin' ho down type of jam and then they held out. And right after that, Recently - no intro, no pretty pretty girl outro, no nothing. ouch...

The Dave Matthews Band returns to the Tweeter Center for the Performing Arts to finish a two-day stay in Massachusetts. And boy did they deliver. The first triumphant notes of the night were the opening chords of Too Much, a great choice to get the crowd going. The energy was kept on with fan favorites Granny and Pig. Dave then went on with an amazing performance of Sugar Will, one of several new songs for this tour. It’s mellow tune was a good segue into Bartender. Dave’s raw emotion in this song just captured the crowd. Hello Again has a bluegrass twang and a catchy beat, another great new song to watch out for this tour. Ants Marching quickly sent the crowd into a frenzy. The highlight of the evening was definitely Everyday. As fans chanted the lyrics to #36, Dave and company proceeded to sing backup to the audience. This gave a new twist to the acoustic masterpiece. Stay ended the set with Butch and Carter stepping up to fill in the void left by the lovely ladies. So Much To Say was a solid encore song, but the Anyone Seen The Bridge jam into Pantala Naga Pampa was truly a joy to hear as it led to the Rapunzel closer. Overall Dave closed the stay in Mansfield with an excellent set.

Like the previous night...I loved hearing the new songs...
And also like the previous night...the tickets were free for my wife and I.
This time, I was friends with a local DJ in Boston who had 2 lawn seat tickets just sitting around and offered them to me...oh yeah...gotta love that shit!

OK for starters, this show was awesome. The energy was great for both the crowd and the band, as for the new songs, the first new song they played has not struck any cords with me but the others were really nice. Does anyone have a recording of night 2 for the tweeter center Mansfield , ma show I would love a copy of that? Let me know if anyone has it.
Thanks

One of Dave's better shows of the 4 I've been to. He played more newer tracks the night prior, but the new tracks he played on this night rocked!

This show was awesome...of course it helps to be only eight rows from the stage. Dave was a solid performer and really seemed to enjoy this show. Carter hurt himself on his drum kit (???)...not sure of the cause just speculating. He was icing it throughout the second half of the show. At times he played with one hand. Regardless, he still played phenominal. It was a nice treat to see Stephan play lap guitar. The four new songs rocked. Dave and the Band are getting comfortable with performing them. Things really picked up at Bartender...it was non stop enthusiasm from the crowd and band. Boston fans have to love Dave's inserted lyrics about the Boston Tea Party....cool. (Side note...stop chanting Yankees suck...it is lame!!!)

I agree that Carter was not his usual god-like self. It makes sense that he may be hurt or not feeling well, since his trademark smile wasn't there. The fact that the show was still very good to excellent is evidence that this is an unbelievable group of musicians. We all expect a show like 9/9/03 every night, and the amazing thing is that we often get it. Enjoy these events, for each show has unbelievable moments. Ignore the drunkards and those who don't seem "into it," because enjoyment of DMB is not dependent on other people's attitudes.

Another great show. It took a few songs for the band to warm up, and Carter seemed to be having some difficulty. That said, it was still an excellent show. Song highlights were Bartender; DIDO; Crazy-Easy; Hello Again; Everyday; and the SMTS>ASTB>PNP>Rapunzel encore. I loved Recently, but I wish they played the jam version. Unfortunately, some of the crowd around us were NOT cool…

I'll be the one dissent of the group..
ASfter night #1's setlist, night two setlist was lame, lame , lame....
The band seemed to be sleepwalking through the numbers, almost couldn't wait to get on the bus..
and I agree about the lack of variety with this tour.. You could almost do the math on what they were going to play tonght.. nothing blew yje roof off the place, not even ants...lame crowd, one of the lamest tailgates I ever attended too.. No "Graves" no "Watchtower"... semms the boys peaked with the great show on night #1 and had nothing left for us...
This is thesecond time I missed a great show by one night... Loooking at the tour thus far, ecery second night of a two night stand has been killer...with this show being the exception...
My 2 cents..

Great show but did anyone else notice that something was missing.....BOYD!! He finally showed for ANTS but man was his energy on those sick violin solos missing. Anyway, still a great show but I do not think it trumped 2nd night last year...think back...that was an unbelievable show. See you all at the meadows.

I personally thought this was the best of the three shows I saw this summer - the other two were Albuquerque, and Sept 5th at the Gorge, WA. The entire bands energy was optimal, and they were right on, totally tuned into each other.

Highlights of the night - definitely Pig, DIDO, Everyday. Much better set list than the first night. Ants brought the house down, as usual. Nice finale...wasn't expecting Rapunzel at the end, and I don't think the rest of the crowd was either.
I think Sugar Will is starting to grow on me....

Gotta agree with Locked-not the greatest show I've seen...Everyday was cool and Granny,Ants-liked the new songs-esp Hello Again, but Carter was not his usual self NO SMILES. Guess it's true he's the barometer of the show. Interesting to read that he was icing during the show. Hope he's OK. That said-DMB still puts on the best shows even on an off nite. See y'all in Hartford:)
