When we walked over the hill and finally saw the stage, we just said "wow!" Show was great, crowd was great. Always happy to hear #41, and starting with "Crush" was a good way to get the crowd going.

This was a good show, but the crowd was very lame. People were sitting through songs like spoon and dreaming tree, these are great songs. When they came out for the encore, everyone was pumped, but when they started playing minarets people started sitting down again. I was pretty dissapointed in this crowd, but its hard not to enjoy yourself in a place as beautiful as the gorge.

I called out LeRoi's name as they walked out. He pointed and waved to me. They opened with Crush - I burst into tears.
Josh Kelly, the opening act, stood next to me on the aisle for quite awhile.
One of the best nights of my life!

No wonder people drive for miles to see DMB here! It is absolutely beautiful. First Gorge show for me and my soon-to-be fiance. Ran into my ex-fiance (my spidey sense was tingling as soon as I bought my tix) and they opened with her favorite song - Crush. Grace is Gone with the double-time country outro was great! Lots of songs I hadn't seen live before like Minarets and Spoon and Help Myself. Very fulfilling show for this very loyal fan.

What a beautiful place, get there if you can...but give me Dave's favourite venue, Alpine Valley anyday. Tell me what you think, seek up,

Amazing. Simply amazing. Flew all the way from Miami Fl for my first gorge show and to top it off i got upgraded to first row dead center. I could never top this. Two step was on fire with butch. I bet the guys were having so much fun because dave kept smiling and going back to carter laughing. Words cannot describe the scenery. Just flew in a while ago. gotta sleep. Gorge 2004 will be so much fun

Excellent show! It was so enjoyable to be at a show where the crowd was into the music and not talking during songs that they were not familar with. A show for the band and the true DMB fans. Personal highlights were #41, The Dreaming Tree, and Minarets. Dave was dancing on stage while he was not even playing his guitar during The Dreaming Tree. It is such a joy to see the band enjoy playing music together for such a long time. They seem to truly enjoy sharing their music with their loyal fans.

I was very fortunate to see DMB both nites at the Gorge. It was my first trip out there and both nites were so surreal!! The set list was amazing and the secenery was beautiful!! I met so many wondeful people and was definitely worth the long trip to get out to Washington!! I will most defintiely be going to the gorge in 2004 :)

I had such high expexctations for this show that I was almost afraid that they could not be lived up to. I was wrong. I really enjoyed the setlist and the jams were nice. With that kind of setting the guys could have sat on the stage and just atared at the audience and it still would have impressive. Pictures do not do the Gorge any justice. The whole experience was well worth the trip from Ky and I hope to be able to make it next year!

Awesome, awesome show. The crush opener was really good even though I have heard it numerous times, Carter still blows my mind. Fool To Think is one of my favorite everyday songs but into Grace is Gone really slowed us down. Butch went house on the OSW intro with Roi, truly an awesome song. WTWE is usual but Two Step was awesome. Nearly 20 minutes of an amazing jam and especially the end. #41 was pretty and Everyday's 36 sing alongs were too short. Where Are You Going? straight up here. Spoon carried the concert to new places with beautiful lyrics and an intense ending. Then Ants Marching got the crowd going into a huge Help Myself and a long Dreaming Tree, a personal favorite of mine. SMTS-->ASTB-->PNP-->Rapunzel was a great way to keep the crowd in it and end on a high note. Minarets was a favorite of the night along with HM and DT and was the first encore minarets since 1994. Stay gave me a smile to leave with, a truly fun concert.

This was my first-ever Dave show. The music was incredible as ever, and the Gorge is even more impressive than my more experienced Gorge-visiting friends have lamented.
However, there was something missing from the performance. Though I can't really talk about the Dave's live performances (I mean, this was my first show), one thing I was really excited about was the things Dave does in between his songs. I've listened to several concerts in which he tells some story about growing up or about the girl he was in a pool with (the same one who, when getting out of the pool, had a huge line of snot coming out of her nose) in his teens. From what I remember (and I remember a lot, I don't think second-hand gange smoke has any significant effect), Dave barely said a word the whole performance. From what I understand, Dave Matthews is not only entertaining as a musical artist, but is also entertaining as a personality, and I saw very little of that at this concert.
Anyway, including small-talk or not, this concert was excellent. Dave waited probably 10 minutes before he came back on for an encore, but it was worth the wait in my opinion.

This was my first Gorge show. My fiancee and I drove up from the San Francisco Bay Area in California to go the Gorge shows this year and let me tell you...WOW! The setlist tonight wasn't as good as Vancouver two nights ago, but the venue is beautiful and more than made up for the lack of originality in the setlist. Although I will say that seeing "MINARETS" as an encore opener was simply amazing! Especially with the new "PASSION" outro Dave uses. The venue was amazing and the show was great...we'll see everyone tomorrow night for Night 2.

This reveiw is a little hard to write as I have been to three Dave shows and countless others since, however I do remember it was the first time I heard Help Myself and then had to find out what it was and loved the song since then. I was actually kinda overwhelmed by the whole experiance and really don't remember that much from this show.

Top 3 show for me. My 10th gorge show and perhaps the best except for Stay. Dreaming Tree was alright but predictable after last year's tease. What about the scat Minarets intro? That would have sealed the deal on this show. First night of the Gorge is always the best for the fans. Too bad friday's show had to happen. I feel bad for all of you who made your first Gorge trip this year. Thursday night was great but Friday was such a disappointment. Especially only having two shows.

I have seen them 27 times starting in 1994 and to the best I can recolect, I have never seen them have more fun on stage than what I saw at the Gorge. What a venue what a show, camping was awesome - Thanks Travis, Missy, Dan and Christa. See Yall Next Year!

Would have had incredible seats if it weren't for some people in our row that removed chairs and invited friends down from the lawn. It was so crowded that there was no room to groove, and it was hard to see the stage. Very disappointed with these inconsiderate fans. Band was rockin' as always. Fun weekend to be there...was the CD/DVD making weekend which was way cool.

Dreaming Tree was awesome to hear again, but disappointed to hear Stay again. He played that it seemed on every close this tour. But the stage was set, he HAD to play that as there was another night, and we all were definitely gonna Stay.

well after 3 years of waiting I finally got my chance to get out to the gorge!! and what can I say? it's beautiful out there!! when we got to the venue and got over that hill I just looked down to take it all in, the columbia river on the east sun setting to the west people in every direction ;) got to meet boyd! deffinitly a plus :) :) but on to the setlist...
so in my 3 shows I've only heard 37 songs.. which is a little dissapointing but it was much better hearing them at the gorge the breaze blowing the sound is just unbeleivable from sec. b row 55 seat 3 :) you're in reserved seating but you still get that awesome panaramic view and when security isn't being a pain in the ass you get to stand on your chair and watch dave dance his feet off :) energy was up from the vancouver show but you could tell the road was taking it's toll they're deffinitely in need of the break! It was nice to hear crush w/ stefan and watch boyd and stefan goin' at it! (last years vancouver show had the guys from soulive) I was ecstatic to hear spoon and dreaming tree - back to back, yay!- and minarets!! and ants marching, always a crowd pleaser!! my first and only gorge show but hopefully not my last!
