The venue had its downfalls.....but the concert was incredible. I was pretty excited to get The Stone. Crazy was incredible with the crowd singing along to every word, gave me goosebumps. It was a treat to get Kit Kat Jam - with the words! But the climax of the night was definitely Watchtower. The parks fireworks coincided with the jam and there was just such a high energy on the lawn I couldn't stop jumping and dancing, not to mention the screaming. Couldn't have been a more beautiful night for a DMB concert outdoors. I'd been waiting to hear Everyday live and I certainly wasn't disappointed especially with Dave falling into the background and letting the fans take over. I'm still waiting to hear Dancing Nancies live so I guess I'll just have to keep going to concerts! Good times.

first dave show, ... awesome it took off and my favorite song is now You Never Know...
Then Gravedigger with the scrwed up guitar. covered beautifully by dave, and what a trick to come back with the electric to finish it off.
then the new version of What You are changed to What We Are, justfor our show.. once again.. awesome

Aww yeah, my 6th show. experienced the true western NY lot scene, home of the best tailgating in the world! (im from rochester) was sloppy drunk for the show and rocked out the whole time. the fireworks over the park during watchtower was orgasmic. it was great that they were so close to home

Great show - only my second (first at Air Canada Centre, Toronto). The venue was great! Nothing beats a great outdoor summer concert! Sound was okay. Too many drunk frat boys and cheerleader types. All in all a great experience - can't wait for next tour.

THis was first DMB show, and wow was a great appettizer before heading into the main course. I had already known all the songs on their new album Busted Stuff, just released a few days before, not to mention most songs from other records.
Here are the night highlights:
5)Grey Street---I think one of the best openers Dave has really set tone for the rest of the concert
4)Stone--Rhyme and Reason--One Sweet World
Great sequence period
3)Everyday/#36--Crowd participation at its best dave and crowd did call and response with "Hani, Hani come and dance with me's"
2)Watchtower--Blew me awayphenomenal cover that never gets old live---ever
1) Bartender---then Crush
Amazing! Undescribable other than that Dave and company gave it all they had on these, we were all feeling it I was front row out on the lawn and you could survey the stage and audience with lighters, etc. Great combo, and Dave considers Barkeep to be possibly the best song he's written ever---heartfelt, genuine---pure passion adrenaline.
Inspired me to see them again in December later in the year.

Sat front row, just to the right of Dave. Officially second row seats, however, there was no front row. 12.4.98 member of the Warehouse finally paid off.
Show was excellent, lots of energy from the crowd. Captain, YNK, and Everyday were my favorites. Grey Street opener was sensational.
What You Are was a little bit of a disappointment, however it was expected.

I have not been to as many shows as many of the great people here (I'm a newbie to this place) but I have been privvy to four other shows and a Dave and Tim gathering. Got to say that this was by far the worst show I've been to. Tailgating was cool and met a lot of cool folks, but the energy of Dave and Co. was not low, it was non-existent. There was almost no interaction with the crowd and the band just didn't seem very into the show. Set list was ok, encore was a little weak, too. Having said that, the venue is not the best place and being under the band shell only helps a little; the sound overall was poor. Security was outright awful and traffic at the end of the show was just as bad. (Actually had a bunch of people in front of me break through a fence and barrier to make a getaway through an adjacent campground after waiting over two hours to actually get cars moving.) Overall, not a good show, and I'm only basing that on the music as the rest of the stuff is a crapshoot and not controlled by the band. Think I need to see some other shows out of this area! I see setlists for other places and think, DAMN! DMB never plays that kind of stuff around here. Next time, next time, next time!

This was a long and wierd day. Went with a bunch of people. Some of which I wish I hadn't. The setlist was pretty good, but I hate when people try to have a conversation in the middle of a great jam.

Pulled off a nice weekend camping at the State Park, which gave us the DMB mood for three straight days. Tailgaiting was excellent, with my squad winning many consecutive games in "polish horseshoes." Of the more amusing things was watching certain friends enjoy their "high."
Got into the concert just as Grey Street came on. Unfortunately we were on the lawn and not that close up. Still managed to get a good view and have our friends in the same area. I remember calling nearly every song before they got into them. Jamming before One Sweet World along with the scat outro was beautiful. Dave solo on Gravedigger was powerful coupled with a slamming What You Are. No show complaints, just lawn complaints.

Awesome show with a strong Grey Street opener - got the blood flowin'; and The Stone right after was killer. My friend finally got to hear Crush and Watchtower (he couldn't make it the year before, when they played both:-P), and Loving Wings debuted this year, although we couldn't tell what the hell he was playing because Darien's acoustics SUCK and the crowd wouldn't shut up. Oh well, Watchtower closer was incredible, and the encore wasn't that bad - What You Are has really improved live.

Okay, well the venue is pretty bad. Being able to go to the park during the day and go on rides is cool. Being able to camp out right next to the venue was cool. It pretty much ends there. The sound system sucks so bad. Another problem is that the reserved seating area is way too big. My seats were toward the back of the reserved section just before the lawn started. I was so far away that I couldnt see anything. I couldnt imagine the view from the back of the lawn. I am returning this year, and I hope that the sound system is taken care of.

Great Show. Security were asses. Amazing setlist, worthy of the die-hard Dave fans. Kit Kat Jam, too good. Everyday with #36, too good. Bartender during the sunset, too good. Crush, too good. Rhyme & Reason, so glad to hear that. Loving Wings was good, but no one was listening to it. Watchtower, too damn good. Encore with Gravedigger and What You Are, so good. I'm so glad they didn't play I Did It or Space Between. I'm surprised that he didn't play anything from Crash. Traffic was horrible at the end of the show. Shouts to Jeff, Larry, Mike, Mike, Shale, Josh, Benji, Erin and Rachel. Sorry Becky, wish you were there!

well...i lost my dave virginity at this show, haha...it was my first concert! it was kind of a crappy experience for me...i was on the lawn and it was shoulder to shoulder and there were some very obnoxious drunk people around me...it was tough to hear much at all. my first show though so it was a cool experience. i do remember that carter did a pretty cool little drum solo on the rims. grey street was a great opener and i was extatic to hear that bass intro for crush. i'd love to hear it again cause it's an awesome set list!

Lawn seats sucked! The large open area made the sound a lot quieter than expected! It faded out fast, I had to get up as close as possible to hear. Watchtower for the first time, that was def. a great song live, one of my new favs. Too bad i didn't know much from busted stuff before i went in

This was my 5th show, my third and 4th being 4-19 and 4-20 with the flecktones. I must say that this show was amazing and I had one of the best times of my life. The setlist was perfect, the energy was great. The only problem was the sound at Darien lake, but the concert was still amazing and Bastable's recording is petty damn good. The long wait and grehound bus ride was definitely well worth it. Great show. Shoutout to Mighty Mouse ;)

My very first dave concert...what an exciting moment in my life!!! The playing of a set of songs i love, including some older ones like crush made this one hell of an experience. The Everyday with 36 outro was awesome. The Stone was played great. Bartender was the epitamy of beautiful, with Leroi playing a great flute solo to end the song. Grey Street was good, too. Watchtower before the encore came as a suprise, because it could have served as an encore performance in its own right. Gravedigger and What you are made great encore selections, though...what a great concert...:D
