First show, first introduction to dmb.
I was indifferent to dmb at the time; Only familiar with music videos and radio play, I was no fan of jam bands (G.D. or Phish) and assumed dmb only tried not to sound like them.
I mostly went bc my friends were looking forward to the show and had an extra tix. (i might of drove too?).
Starting w Two Step, I probably asked my (legit dmb fan) buddy if all their songs were like 'this!' at conclusion of every, other, song played.
A couple made out hard, directly in front us, through the e n t i r e Crash into me performance (not that what was happening on stage was so fantastic) but I remember thinking 'I'll never be fan of this band'.
Minarets & Drive In Drive Out probably solidified fandom.

Very first Dave show. Great times, didn't know all the songs I do now, but good regardless.

While the World is not the best venue there is still something almost magical about it late on a Friday afternoon in June when you should be at work. First time I saw Ben Harper and his version of Sex Healing had me on the verge of tears. DMB was awesome, as usual. When Ben and Leon joined the band I was knocked out. The only bummer was that Paul & Mike wouldn't sneak us down to their seats.

FIRST DMB SHOW!
Second time at the World, I will see them several more times here over the next few years. The lawn looks miles away from the stage, but i never had lawn tix ...seat tickets are a MUST! The sound is decent but much better near the stage. And at night, cigarette LIGHTERS up!
I thought for sure i started my DMB obsession in 1995. Most my friends listened to them but I never connected. Until this show! After this show, I purchased all their studio albums and gave up on collecting Pearl Jam live CDs (mostly) for DMB live bootlegs.
This show was so much fun; The DMB-meathead-fan bug bit me. After every song I asked my dmb-fan-friend What Song Was That? Every song was another party, only to be topped by the next.

Dancing Nancies »
Warehouse
(this was the first time hearing these songs)
The Drive In Drive Out encore took us right back to the top
but you say you want to start again, I say, No Way, No Way
but you convince me again, you get me back there...
I should give this concert a 5 since it is the show that finally got me hooked. But this band was continuing their ascent to the plateau. And THOSE shows (1999, 2000) were astonishing; The very best, for real, For Real 5s!

My first DMB show. Had a great time. Didn't realize it that night but caught one of the few performances of Toy Soldiers. I wish I knew then what I know now. I would appreciate a show like this much better now.

This was my first Dave show and what a show it was. Ben Harper put on an amazing opening act and then joined in at the end for one of the best performances I have ever seen Dave, the band, and Harper do. Overall it was one of the best if not the best dave show I have ever seen.

My first Dave show. Pretty fuzzy these days, but still remember the opening "Yeah" from #41 and Ben Harper beating a bongo during watchtower. SWEET!
