Good show, better experience. The set was too much like the UVA show that I saw less than 2 weeks ago. hi-light was Paul Simon coming out to jam with Dave and the boys on Julio. Dave gave Paul his guitar and Dave danced around the stage like a kid on Christmas morning. Lenny Kravitz sang with the band on Watchtower but did not play the guitar which was somewhat disappointing, no matter, Jazzfest ROCKED!

I was front center against the barricade for this show, by pure luck I guess. A photographer had his equipment set up early, but he left about two songs into the set, and let my friend and me have his spot. This was my first (and only, so far) Dave show, and while it was good, I was a little disappointed. They played a little too much off of Everyday for my tastes. I was also less than impressed with Lenny Kravitz's performance of "All Along the Watchtower", but it was kind of neat to see him there. "Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard" with Paul Simon was awesome, maybe one of my favorite parts of the show. I also liked "Long Black Veil". I'm going to see Dave again in Atlanta in September, so hopefully it will be a little better than this show.

This was my first time seeing Dave and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Openers were also some of my favorites. Also, these guys aren't kidding about the crowd. Sadly I had to leave before the big guests (not my choice, and ironically to make it to the Paul Simon show), but it took a solid 20 minutes to find my way out of the crowd from the front.

I was so excited to see Dave Matthews Band, but all I can remember about this show(other than seeing Dave, Paul Simon, & Lenny Kravitz on the same stage) was that it was hotter than hell and I had to walk what felt like a forever to get into Jazz Fest. Nevertheless, I was so excited to see DMB for the first time that I still enjoyed myself and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

My first DMB show, and an awesome one. Look at that setlist; that's all there is to say. The Jazz Fest attendence record was shattered on that day; it had been 98,000 people in a single day, and after Dave's day, it was 160,000.

Ended up driving to New Orleans from Memphis, not knowing I was going until 5 am that morning. Interesting story, 1st show, and 1 hell of time!

What a great show. My first actually. Lenny Kravitz blew it up with "All along th watchtower" and Paul Simon was a nice suprise with "Me and Julio down by the schoolyard". Awesome!

Other than New Orleans being around 100 degrees i thought it was a great show with some unexpected guest. I would have loved to see Butch though. I thought Watchtower was sweet with Lenny. And of course every body loves Paul Simon. DMB topped off the highest attendence ever at the jazz fest with well over 100,000. With a little help from Cowboy Mouth & North Missippi Allstars who opened up for them
