AntsMarching.org Bottle Openers Now Available - Discussion Thread

If you're here, that likely means a few things: You're a fan of Dave Matthews Band. You're a big enough fan that you're also a member of antsmarching.org. You get thirsty from time to time. You enjoy the occasional (root) beer. Said beverage oftentimes comes in a bottle without a twist-off cap, therefore an opener is required. If all of the above is true, then it is indeed your lucky day.

Introducing the AntsMarching.org Churchkey. A completely custom-made aluminum bottle opener, fit with a matching chain and loop so it can easily attach to your keychain. If you've been a member of the site long enough, you might recall (or even own!) an older AntsMarching.org bottle opener. It was the shape of a key, blue, and simply had our logo and "antsmarching.org" printed on it. For the Churchkey, we wanted to take it to the next level, and oh have we ever. This inaugural edition of the Churchkey sports a dark weathered finish and is the AntsMarching.org logo. That's right, you can literally open your (root) beer with the Ants logo! A small notch at the bottom of the "A" serves as the lip catch to keep the Churchkey small and contained; no long dangling openers hanging from your keychain! We're extremely excited to offer this to our members.

It's the finishing process that does it; totally normal. Most of them have at least some of it.

No chipping or flaking to be expected. Can't speak to normal wear and tear but if anything I'm looking forward to beating mine up a bit.

Actually, the bubbles do depress when pressure is applied, but no popping at present.

Interesting - obviously I've handled a pretty large number of these and did my own stress testing to verify quality. I can only feel the "bubbles" if I really concentrate on looking for a difference in surface level (that is to say, not noticeable normally) and i pressed the hell out of the spots; none of them depressed. My fingertips, however, did. The weathering process creates the small bumps but I have seen no give to them at all; they're aluminum and they aren't coated with any material that would bubble, like paint.
