Join Dave Matthews in protecting wilderness

Not sure if anyone posted this yet, but here it is:

As one of the newest members of The Wilderness Society’s Governing Council, Dave Matthews is lending his voice to help preserve America’s treasured wilderness—including legislation to protect Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and the Alpine Lakes Wilderness expansion efforts near his home in Seattle. Click the link to read a poem of Dave's entitled “Forest” and learn about the latest conservation issues.

Good job, Dave. People have to change. Before it's too late. I have no money, but if I did, I would contribute.

150,000+ tigers in the wild via 1900.
    Today, less than 2,000.

Yeah, basically they want to help protect the Arctic Refuge from oil drilling and expand the Alpine Lakes area in Washington State. I'm sure Dave would appreciate it if all of his fans sent in letters!

People have been doing this for years, it's called Ducks Unlimited. They do fantastic preservation across the U.S... But glad to see people still care about the environment.

    Drill ANWR though.

Just saying. Some people have no perspective on things when it comes to endangered animals.

Tigers however, should not be going extinct right now, but people shoot them, so they are.

Stop the people shooting them, and their fast paced extinction goes back to normal.

Of course all species go extinct. As all things begin, they end. The point most "anti-extinctionists" make is that as a population of "intelligent" beings we have the ability to save wildlife instead of making them go the way of the Dodo bird or the buffalo.

Why not try to make things better, instead of helping things get worse?

Fact: we are currently living in one of the most significant extinction events in the history of this planet, that we are 100% responsible for, and one in which we can also stem the tide. By altering all the ecosystems all around us, we will eventually irreparable damage nature's ability to recycle all manner of things we take for granted, things that are taken care of for us scotch free

just wanted to point out the irony that there are no forests or trees in ANWR- its entirely above the arctic circle, a place where no trees can grow.

I don't see the irony, it doesn't say it's only about saving trees. I think the ANWR issues are the effects from oil drilling.
