Best of the Caravan (so far...)

Cortez on N2 of the Gorge got me thinking: What are the best moments of the entire Caravan thus far? Which shows got the best jams?

IMO, Cortez is tops at this point. The Say Goodbye intro on Gorge N3 was incredible also. Can anyone guess which stop I was at?

Two Step in AC was one of my favorite DMB moments, I listen to that once a day at least.

    Leon Mobley stole it.

Who's listened to all the LITHOG's from the tour? Whats been the best Coffin solo? Gorge was long and awesome but I heard Chicago was pretty sick. Still need to give it a listen.

I agree that AC N3 was the better overall show, but there are better versions of nearly every song from that show already in circulation. Over time Gorge N2 will ultimately be a more sought after show for the Cortez and the DFTR in the encore. AC N3 is slightly overrated IMO because it was the kind of set that the band rarely puts together anymore so everyone lost their shit over it. Put in the context of the entire history of the band, its pretty forgettable. Its not like a top 25 show or anything like that. IMO of course.

Re: Best of the Caravan (so far...)

Since I watched the Gorge webcast,(and I have the shows in mp3),and I attended N1 and N3 at Randalls,I wanted to ask...which Caravan was better ???

The Gorge or Randalls Island ?

I think Randalls, its close..but Intro FTWIT and of course Halloween gave RI the edge....

Ants tease (with Wild Thing, since I know I can't be the only one that heard it) -> Halloween -> back into Ants was pretty sweet at AC n3.

I'm not a huge Halloween fan, but that whole sequence almost made my head pop off.

I politely disagree. I saw both and the gorge version melted my face.

Can we ask the Admins to possibly make a 'face melting icon'? That would be awesome.

Re: Best of the Caravan (so far...)

I went to the chicago shows night 2 and 3- had work conflicts for the first night. I really enjoyed both shows, followed the rest of the caravan through the almanac to see what sets lists DMB was putting up. My co-worker attended all 3 days of the Gorge and said it was great. I'm a huge fan of BTCS album and only got to hear 2 or 3 songs in 2 nights. Disappointed but still pleased with the performances and the engergy of the Chicago shows. I just think that it's all about the energy, you could have a set list that isn't the most unique but it's all about the energy. The encore for night 3 at lakeside started with sister, not my fav, but the end of the encore was nuts! My buddy even said that either night 1 or 2 of the george seemed really mellow. I just think its all about the energy.
