I know OP is gonna disagree with me, as will many others, but I'm goin LT 3. Terrible Seek Up (Roi is SOOO out of tune), and the rest of the set doesn't have any heavy hitting jamz. For me, the band jamming is what makes the Live Trax worth getting. Otherwise I can just put on the studio album. Obviously 3 isn't a bad set, but compared to the other options left I think it is the weakest.

I do disagree, but the remaining Live Trax are fantastic... I could care less who votes for what at this point. Any choice is valid in my eyes

i respect your opinion but thats too bad. after the infamous 7.30.01 seek up, i think Seek Up from LT3 is light years ahead of any other seek up. after CP, LT3 is my favorite DMB release.

anyways, i voted LT8. the mix is questionable and the performances are good, but not really exceptional. The rest of the LT's listed (LT1, LT3, LT7 and LT16) all have some exceptional performances. LT8 is good don't get me wrong, but i think there are other Alpine shows that would have been a better release.

LT 1 I can't vote for just yet; it was the first LT I was introduced to and has a special place in my heart. Anything from 2000 just kills 2004... and LT 7 is one of the best shows they've ever played...

I have no problem with you thinking it's the worst LT out of these, but I have to disagree with your opinion on the show itself. I would've used the discription you said for LT 4 or even LT 11 (another lackluster show, IMO, and people seem to agree with me due to its ranking), but not LT 16. How is it even a bad 2000 show? Other than Crush and maybe Grey Street, all the performances of the songs are excellent. What don't you like about them?

I think if they released 6/8/97, or a few other shows, people would be happy, but other than those few shows, I might have to agree with you on that.

As I said, it's a subpar 2000 show. There are PLENTY before it that I would have chosen with better performances. My biggest song disappointment is SUAD. I'm not saying it's a bad release, or that it doesn't deserve to be in the top 5ish of LiveTrax (which also would help strengthen my argument that the LiveTrax series as a whole is pretty weak), but it's most definitely not one of the best 2000 shows.

The one thing I do like about the choice is the lack of the Lovely Ladies. I was really hoping that Deer Creek would have been the choice had they went with a 2000 show though. That venue is well overdue for a release. Like this show is phenomenal:

I don't think that's the case at all. I think Coran has flooded the market with these LT releases. DMB has released 20 live albums since 2004 (that's not counting WH discs, DMBLive or bonus CDs, that's strictly LT and official). That's an absolutely ridiculous amount. People seem to just start to being growing tired of constantly seeing new releases, and they don't carry the same excitement when you hear a new CD is being released. It's too much. There's DMBLive, LiveTrax, official releases, WH discs, bonus discs, etc. The amount of official live material is borderline disgusting.

So basically you're saying because there are better shows (or shows you prefer), it can't be a fantastic one? I don't understand the logic behind that. Sure, there can be better shows, however that doesn't mean a lesser show can't be one either. They both can be fantastic. I mean we're talking 2000 here, how much better of a show are you asking? Which shows? Are they that much better (if you're talking about DC still, it's not that much better, IMO, unless you get all three nights). I mean I'd like to get the best show possible as well, but think about it.

Also you're only seeming to name #40 and SUAD. That SUAD is pretty fucking good. Also, as I've expressed numerous times, #40 is extremely overrated, IMO. But what about the other performances? Like Bartender, #41, Warehouse...

This is true. But unfortunately Coran didn't pick this LT, so in terms of LT 16 it's kind of irrelevant (if you're implying they're releasing all this shit strictly money making purposes)...

I named SUAD specifically because that seems to be a big pulling point for this release, and just named that DC show because it would have been a better choice. Nothing to do with money (I mean, that's obviously Coran Cap$haw's motivation, but really has nothing to do with the point I was trying to make). Just saying why I believe people's perception of some LT shows might be a little off. I remember how ridiculously excited I used to get for new live releases, and that's just not there anymore. I agree that maybe it wasn't the best show they could have released possible, but then do you think that we should complain about every release because it's not the best possible? I'd feel that would be valid to say (and extremely reasonable), but people flip flop a lot on that. Each person has different opinions, but this is my main problem: People will like and not complain about one release (even though it's not the best one possible from that tour or in general), or they'll pick apart another because it's not a so-and-so date... I think that's kind of dumb really. Personally I like shows for what they are. I like LT 16 because it's a fantastic show, not because it's not DC 2000.

People's perception is pretty off, IMO. It's more than just them releases a bajillion releases in a short amount of time though, there are many other factors that have made people's opinion of the band out of wack and inconsistent, IMO. But whatever, what are we going to do about it anyways.

Does this sentiment piss of anyone else? It's simply a venue. How can it be "due?" They should release shows because they are good, even if they played it in the woods to a family of bears.
