only thing i'm wondering about...
what exactly am i supposed to be seeing? all i've got is the silver firedancer and the playlist
is there video too?

aaaand so far i've ripped it using Musicmatch Jukebox, sent it to my Dell DJ, played it in my car and the CD player in my office & everything is fine.

wow, technology rarely cooperates with me this well!

Re: Problems with the DualDisc? Post here (MusicTodayC)

YES! My dvdrw was not recognizing, but my cdrw drive reads it and I was able to rip into iTunes as easily as any other cd. If you have two drives, rip the disc in the cd rw not the dvd rw. My computer can easily read the dvd in the dvd rw drive and I was able to watch the dvd before I ripped it. I have a gateway something running windows xp SP2 pentium 4

Re: Problems with the DualDisc? Post here (MusicTodayC)

I have a Dell Dimension 8200 (purchased new in Sept. of 2002 - P4 2.4 GHz, Windows XP Home SP2). Both discs (Dual and Regular) work perfectly fine. It reads them fine. Plays them fine (through MusicMatch). And the CDs ripped fine using MusicMatch as well. I also burnt a backup, and still, no problems at all.

This is weird that so many people are having problems... Especially those with brand new computers! That's terrible!

Re: Problems with the DualDisc? Post here (MusicTodayC)

CD side does not work on my Dell Inspiron 8600, XP Pro SP 2, Pentium 4. I have a NEC DVD+-RW ND-6500A.
On a side note, why do they even bother to attempt to put copy protection on this stuff? Its easy enough to get through so I can listen to the album on my iPod but there are also any number of places to download it from. If people are bothering to buy the album like us why do they restrict us? Makes me want to stop buying this crap.

What kind of restrictions are there? I had no problem ripping the CD, and then burning a backup copy of it onto a CD-R.

My computer did not even recognize that a disc was inserted when the CD side was to be played. I disabled autorun and "poof" problem gone and the CD side plays

My cd-rw worked while my two dvd drives did not. If you have a cd-only drive, try it first.

I have a 12" Mac powerbook with Superdrive, running panther and it spits out the CD side of the disc. Same goes for my Sony car stereo.

Re: Problems with the DualDisc? Post here (MusicTodayC)

I'm running a Mac PowerBook G4 with Superdrive and the audio side of my dual disc won't work. Though the DVD side does work. I called MusicToday and the rep advised me to send it back with a note and they would send me a regular CD. Don't know if I'd trust returning a CD with a note attatched and expect to see something back. I had a friend rip it on his pc and it worked just fine.

Mine worked perfectly in all my CD players, my car CD Player, in my computer I built with a LG Cd-Rom, and in my HP ZV5366 Laptop. No Complaints what so ever.

I pre-ordered the album a month ago from musictoday.com, and I still haven't received anything in the mail yet. Great, can't wait to finally get my hands on the Dual disc only for it to reject in my computer!

Re: Problems with the DualDisc? Post here (MusicTodayC)

You know if it is the stupid copy protection causing all of this then it serves them right. I only feel bad for the people who actually have paid for the album and are having all of these problems. All this trouble they have caused to try to keep you from copying an album you paid for and the anti-copy protection workaround is actually pretty easy. So what is the point for them to put it on there? Seriously I am really disappointed I didn't expect this type of thing from a DMB album.

Re: Problems with the DualDisc? Post here (MusicTodayC)

The DualDisc (both sides) works fine in my PS2. Both sides also work fine on my PC - Dell Dimension 8200 P4 XP Homw w/SP2, HP DVD-RW Dual Layer.

The CD works fine in my car. I use the proper CD not the CD side of my DualDisc as my CD player in my far is a front slot loader. I don't want to ruin the DVD side of the DualDisc and using it in a front loading player will ruin the DVD side.

For MusicToday - what I'd really like to know is why did you choose only 24-bit stereo and not 24-bit 5.1 surround?!?!

I'm finding strangly I think that if I put the songs on Itunes (for my ipod) it's fine, but if I play the cd, my cd player isn't liking it.
