Did you guys see the AMA they did a few days ago with Matt's brother about the documentary? It was like half band talk, half documentary talk. Aaron dropped this tidbit about "Terrible Love", which I never knew:
Hi! On The High Violet Expanded Edition there's an alternate version of Terrible Love. What was the motive behind putting another version on the album? Do you like it more or less than the 'normal' version?

The album version of Terrible Love is actually my demo for the song. I felt like I could never recapture that guitar tone (the loose wool sound) because when I did I was looping myself and it built up into this big thick fuzzy sound that we all loved. So we didn't even try to record it "properly", we just built the song around the demo. Bryan played along to it one day just briefly in my garage studio and I only had one mic up...it sounded really cool so we just kept. We only realized how amazing the song is live when we played it for the first time on the Jimmy Fallon show in 2010 -- that's when we realized it would have been a good idea to at least record the drums with more than one mic to capture all the detail in bryan's playing. Anyway, later on we just re-recorded it in a studio in Williamsburg one day. It came out pretty well so we used that for the radio single, but we all prefer the album version aesthetically still.
