you've probably heard tell of this around, but it won the Best Drama Emmy for all 4 of its first seasons. A feat that still hasn't been repeated. virtually the entire cast got supporting nominations at one time or another, with Brad Whitford, John Spencer, Richard Schiff and Allison Janney having won at least one each.

Yea, man. It was entertaining as fuck. It required some solid suspension of disbelief, but it was funny, suspenseful, violent... I really liked it.

Love S2 is so much better than S1. The scenarios, while still very real, weren't that "it's so real that I relate and it hurts by bringing up painful memories." It was also a lot funnier in S2. Randy was great. The shrooms episode was really funny.

All that said, Gillian's character is so unlikeable. I know it's fake but I don't see how anyone could put up with that level of crazy. There were so many times I thought if that had been me I'd told her to piss off and delete her number.

Well Joel just got drug even deeper in after murdering the Brit and getting in bed with Jasmine and the CIA, so his story was continuing. They could have worked the other guys back in. Like, Lex and Gus go back looking for him since they don't know why he stayed.

yeah i was thinking something similar, but trying to continue the over-the-top ridiculousness of the situation would have been difficult without making it too unbelievable. I def would have watched though, it was so entertaining

I really don't see why Gus puts up with her. She's an awful person and seems incredibly unpleasant.

now see I can't help but chuckle, hearing you guys talk about the unpleasantness of Gillian Jacob's character in LOVE as seemingly the primary fault of it. because again, as I brought up before, my ditching out right after the pilot was my eyerolling at almost (if not) entirely of the ludicrousness of HIS character. This incredibly average (and not exactly super charming either) looking guy having cute girls falling off him. It's not like I've got full recall of the episode at this point, but my vague recollection is I wasn't really super troubled by HER characterization.

if you ditched after the first episode you didn't really see her characterization, she got worse and worse as the season went on

Yeah that was bothersome in S1 but wasn't really a thing in S2. In fact his awkwardness turns off people and you see one character actually walk away when he sees Gus.

well seeing as how Silicon Valley itself isn't even the work of staggering genius that many others seem to think, that it's got plenty its share of down moments (especially glaring in my recent rewatch, tho overall I regard myself a fan), but yea, I don't imagine I could stand to watch even one full episode of this "Betas" thing.
